Hold newly hatched poultry, friendly chickens and maybe even lambs. Bookings are essential come by the farmhouse and meet at the gazebo. We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer. Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Be aware tropical North Queensland has paralysis ticks and we have snakes at times and visiting pigs. Water can be supplied upon request. Power generators are permitted . Close to township of Malanda with tourist activities throughout the atherton tablelands. This area is usually 5-10 degrees cooler than Cairns and does not get the summer humidity. Firewood and fireplaces provided, any small change donations for firewood are not required but they are appreciated and helps us provide abundant firewood for your stay. Water available (filtered but recomended to be boiled or treated prior to drinking) Campers need to be self contained, no toilets on site. Please respect this clean, natural setting, remove all rubbish and no interfering with flora or fauna. Bookings are only for one camp group, max six or seven caravans, camper trailers or campsites to maintain space and atmosphere. Access is by well maintained gravel drive then grassed area. Wakana Ridge was a stunning place to stay for the weekend! Endless amazing views with easy access down to Tinaroo dam where the kids had a ball on the kayaks provided. Katrina and Jesse we're fabulous hosts, so welcoming and friendly. An added bonus too was feeding the cheeky goats and the kids collecting the chicken eggs. We absolutely loved it here and will be back.

We have had the privilege of experiencing this beautiful camp in Summer, Winter, and Spring, and each time it has revealed a new kind of magic. Picture this: You emerge from your camper shortly after sunrise to discover a pale mist curling through the trees, softening the edges of the waking rainforest; transforming your camp-site into a quiet dream. Dew-beaded spiderwebs cling to the trees, and glimmer across the sprawling green lawn like tiny gems as the first rays of sunlight filter through the fog. The intriguing call of the Wompoo Fruit Dove beckons you on a lazy stroll along the banks of the trickling stream. A flash of blue darts by you; the Azure Kingfisher is fishing for his morning meal. Movements in the tree just outside your camper door, the Olive backed Sunbirds are busily flitting from branch to branch. The world around you feels hushed and new-touched by the calm, lingering magic of dawn. For those of you that have visited before, there are some fun developments taking place at camp. I won't divulge too many secrets, you'll have to discover them for yourself. Hints: Where does that quirky creek crossing lead to? What exactly is a 'loo with a view' ? For those who haven't been, you can rest assured that Heidi and Mike are wonderful hosts that keep the property in mint condition, and are always looking for ways to improve your camp experience. Can anyone spot the Wompoo Dove in my woeful pic, or the sneaky- rather large but chilled out:) -Scrub Python we saw?

To be honest nothing stood out at 'Aloomba Homestead' Hipcamp, because it was simply amazingly magical all 'round, our type of Hipcamp. Mother Nature at her best, the birdlife was incredible, a very peaceful and calming location on the Mulgrave River within close proximity to Deeral boat ramp, where we launched our tinny and also topped up with water for our van. As for the hosts Margie & Richard, what a terrific down to earth couple, our kinda people, very genuine and open to a good old chin-wag. We hope they travel down our way to Cape Bridgewater in Victoria one day, so we can return their kindness. Top spot for our 10 day stay. 👌

Weekend Trip to Paradise Camps
We enjoyed our stay at Paradise Camps however our request to be as far away from other campers with close access to the creek was not ideal. Dee was very accommodating suggesting that once booked we could change our camp location once onsite. What we ended up with was a non powered campsite away from others but very close to the Bruce Highway, let’s say 150 or so metres or so. It wasn’t what you’d call Paradise and not only was the road noise quite loud there is also the main train line between Brisbane and Cairns and the local sugar cane rail line. The access to the creek was quite treacherous at best for over 60’s and when we went for a swim after setting up camp there was a large group of indigenous folk who were enjoying the swimming spot from access provided via a public road off the highway. They were fine but making plenty of noise, smoking cigarettes and playing loud music in what I thought was a private location and definitely not guests of Paradise Camps that I paid $60 a night for. The road noise was tolerable after dark and we couldn’t complain however the following day we elected to relocate further west away from the highway and although you can’t escape from the noise of the highway & trains completely it was much better. The creek near the camp kitchen is simply beautiful and the access via the concrete stairs makes it safe and easy for all levels of mobility. All in all it’s a nice spot but $60 a night for two people in an unpowered site is a bit rich.

Stayed at Valley views with a toddler and 2 dogs, plenty of space to run around. Could go the whole stay without seeing other campers (if that's what you prefer). End of October so temperatures were creeping up as expected, but the large gazebo supplied gave shade aswell as surrounding trees and there was nice breeze at the top of the hill. Very well kept property and the signage was very helpful! Refreshing little creek to swim in, excellent spot!

We were fortunate enough to have the whole of Paddock 2 to ourselves — my two dogs and 1.5-year-old absolutely loved it! Our stay was more than comfortable, with plenty of space for my parents’ 19ft caravan, my tent, and my sister’s swag. Due to recent flooding, access to the creek was a little tricky and required a bit of bushwalking, but it was well worth the effort once we got there. The sandbanks, crystal-clear water, and open space for the dogs to run — plus a few deeper spots to swim — made it a great spot for everyone. The traffic noise was noticeable, as advertised, since the site is closest to the road. That said, it’s a beautiful place to listen to it from! We’ll definitely be back. Thank you for hosting us.

Welcome to A lovely, secluded streamside campsite. With a private maintained streamside camping area of aprox 1 acre on a ten acre property, surrounded by rain forrest and farmland. Kids are welcome to join small farm activities, feeding chickens and cows, collecting eggs and harvesting fruit trees when fruit is available. Some very special wildlife for the quite observer including regular sitings of platypus and tree kangaroos. Our 20-acre exotic fruit farm backs onto World heritage rainforest and provides a relaxing base for which to explore the wet tropics south of Cairns. We have a beautiful freshwater swimming hole down the road, and also the Mulgrave River is very close if you want to do some fishing.The camping area is large, grassy and reasonably level, with space closer to the tree line, and space more out in the open. There is a firepit provided, and plenty of firewood around the place for you to help yourself to. We also welcome four-legged family members! We have had recent sightings of cassowary on our property so keep an eye out, you might just see one!We prefer self-contained campers, who have their own amenities, but we do have a toilet and shower up at the main house (about 50 metres away) you are welcome to use if needed. This is an unused bathroom downstairs so you will still have privacy. Access into the property is not suitable for large motorhomes. Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. When it's in season, you're welcome to sample some! Gordonvale is the nearest town, with a quiet historic charm, just 15 minutes drive away, while Cairns is around 25 minutes.

Right now though in our top dam, we have a flock of White Egrets roosting at night, spectacular when they depart & return each day, however due to the number of these birds, hundreds if not more! they have fouled the water in the dam & it's a bit on the nose.

Our Food & Beverage van is now open and offers a variety of food choices. Open daily from 12pm to 8.00pm (season dependent) we invite our guests and locals to come and enjoy our beautiful park setting.
