Twitcher's Hill
A very relaxing location and the hosts were both super friendly and welcoming. Trees for shade, clean toilet, sink for dishes and camp shower are available. A great view over the fields with the mountains in the distance.

Great for bird watching!
Lovely location! Great little touches (the shower was great) and a very thoughtful couple. LOTS of birds and other wildlife around. Highly recommend this spot!

Twitcher's Hill
Absolutely recommend the picturesque farm of Twitcher's Hill.
The trip to get there is a bit windy - the road definitely snakes. That said, it is easy driving distance to Pt Douglas and probably Mossman (I didnt go there).
There are a number of "retreats" in the area so Im not the only one that thinks is a great location for retreats. So if you are after peace, tranquility and as The Castle famously stated "How's the serenity?" than look no further.
Hosts were accommodating and helpful but, to confess, being my first hipcamp I felt a bit awkward at first to what amounts to camping in a backyard.
Good blend of "getting away" yet still having conveniences such as flushing toilet and 240v kettle etc.
My stay was a bit rainy yet even so the bird chorus was amazing! No doubt even better when weather is fine.
I wanted to stay longer but "life" happens.
So if you want a beachside location not for you but if you want to "get away" with conveniences in a picturesque surrounds this is the ideal place.

Fantastic hosts!
Theresa and Frank are a lovely couple and absolutely the best hosts. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, from sharing tips on the local birds, giving fresh eggs and sharing a beer and some stories while watching sunset. Their place is lovely, surrounded by nature and wildlife (including curious wallabies), a true paradise for birdwatchers. All facilities are great and, thanks to the location close to the rainforest, it gets much cooler than the coast at night, making it easy to sleep in a van even in summer. Can't recommend it enough!
