Some very special wildlife for the quite observer including regular sitings of platypus and tree kangaroos.

This area is usually 5-10 degrees cooler than Cairns and does not get the summer humidity.

Flaggy Creek Caravan Camp is situated within a 260 acre rural property set aside for wildlife aiming to offer a peaceful and relaxing place to escape the daily grind. Please read this description to the end to make sure our campsites are right for you (click show more).
Our Hipcamp, (owners on site), is small scale to minimise environmental impact with six sites spaced well apart for privacy with each site catering for up to two adult guests only (18+) and one vehicle. (No pets because of wildlife). Solo travelers are encouraged to book, many who have commented how much they enjoyed staying, not feeling overwhelmed by large groups or too isolated.
If you are booking for others please let them know they will need to set up at their booked site. Please do not invite additional guests to enter the property.
You will need to be fully self-contained: own toilet, drinking water, shower.
Our Hipcamp is situated in a cool climate, away from the humidity of the coast. A highlight is beautiful permanent Flaggy Creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles and an abundance of bird life (we are close to an ebird hotspot) with towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks. There are walks on mowed tracks around the property (look for large eastern grey kangaroos in the top paddock) including along a dam wall where you might spot herons or rainbow bee eaters (seasonally) and we can give you directions to a fire-trail to hike up to the Bluff. Herberton (10 mins) also has many excellent walking trails.
All camp sites have their own fire pit (local conditions and/or state fire ban season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own. Please do not bring firewood for biosecurity reasons.
During the wet season (December-April) we recommend 4WD to access the property as there is a concrete causeway creek crossing and on rare occasions this can become impassable with an extreme amount of rain but does go down very quickly once rain has eased. Please take care and go slowly on unsealed roads.

Our Hipcamp, (owners on site), is small scale to minimise environmental impact with six sites spaced well apart for privacy with each site catering for up to two adult guests only (18+) and one vehicle. (No pets because of wildlife). Solo travelers are encouraged to book, many who have commented how much they enjoyed staying, not feeling overwhelmed by large groups or too isolated.
If you are booking for others please let them know they will need to set up at their booked site. Please do not invite additional guests to enter the property.
You will need to be fully self-contained: own toilet, drinking water, shower.
Our Hipcamp is situated in a cool climate, away from the humidity of the coast. A highlight is beautiful permanent Flaggy Creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles and an abundance of bird life (we are close to an ebird hotspot) with towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks. There are walks on mowed tracks around the property (look for large eastern grey kangaroos in the top paddock) including along a dam wall where you might spot herons or rainbow bee eaters (seasonally) and we can give you directions to a fire-trail to hike up to the Bluff. Herberton (10 mins) also has many excellent walking trails.
All camp sites have their own fire pit (local conditions and/or state fire ban season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own. Please do not bring firewood for biosecurity reasons.
During the wet season (December-April) we recommend 4WD to access the property as there is a concrete causeway creek crossing and on rare occasions this can become impassable with an extreme amount of rain but does go down very quickly once rain has eased. Please take care and go slowly on unsealed roads.

We had such a lovely stay at Nisha’s place. She made us feel genuinely welcome from the start, and her warm hospitality made the whole experience feel very special.
We especially loved the fresh eggs and the incredibly delicious passionfruit — such a thoughtful and generous touch. And Woody the little duck was an absolute highlight as well.
It is those personal little details that make a stay truly memorable. We had a wonderful time and would happily recommend staying here.

The campsite is run by lovely, friendly people who were flexible with check in and check out times and very responsive to messages.
We were offered a glass on wine on arrival and were shown around the campsite (kitchen, showers, toilets).
The facilities are very clean - we actually used their toilets and showers instead of the ones in our RV. We were offered fresh towels so we wouldn't have to dry our own.
There was very little noise in the night, just wildlife once or twice.

Absolutely recommend this camp! A beautiful little patch of paradise. The hosts were lovely and easy to communicate with, which made everything so simple. It was such an easy, relaxing stay — private, peaceful, and with plenty of space for the kids to run around and enjoy.
Fireflies at night, butterflies during the day, and stunning sunsets by the fire in the afternoon — it really had everything. Definitely one we’ll be coming back to!

Three Falls Holiday at Milla Milla is a gorgeous little hidden gem, the campsite is very private, shady and grassed with access to a toilet and shower. There is a camp table and a fire pit for use. The very friendly hostess Nisha books out as a single booking only making it very private and exclusive for a couple or a group much larger if you want. We loved the short 20 walk to Zillie Falls, the rolling hill landscape and the amazing sunset, sunrise and the amazing starlit sky at night. We will definitely return.

This is an absolute piece of paradise that you can enjoy all to yourselves. I almost don't want to say how good it is so it doesn't book out. In all seriousness though, our family of four absolutely love it and come away planning when we can next revisit. Our fifth family member, Luna our dog, is in absolute heaven there and lives her best life, dipping in and out of the creek at regular intervals. Nice new addition of a toilet and shower up the hill as well. Always great hosts who leave you to your own devices but you know they are should you need anything. Thank you. We will be back.

We booked last minute for a night and did not want to leave! We're not naturists (or weren't before 😂) but felt so chilled to be among such open minded and loving humans. There's no way to describe the cleanliness and beauty of the space. It's immaculate and only surpassed by the hospitality of the hosts. We felt so welcome and included. The creek is divine, the area is divine, we will absolutely be back. ❤️

Tim's idyllic property is your ideal getaway if you love nature, freedom, peace and quiet. I came as a solo female traveller and felt safe, at ease and comfortable for my entire trip. The swimming hole is sublime and if you love to wander there are plenty of tracks around the property. The landscape is spacious, diverse and stunning!

Oaky Creek was an absolute gem area to camp at. Immaculate, private, quiet and with a beautiful flowing creek. Very spacious and grass well maintained and freshly mowed . Directions were easy and clear. Emme was a lovely host who popped in to say hello.

We love this hidden gem. There are only 6 sites available so very peaceful. I spotted a platypus in the creek, the resident horse Leo made an appearance for an apple and there are so many birds around the property.

Loved this hidden little gem. Beautiful drive into the property through the forrest. Suitable for my 2wd. plenty of water in the creek due to the wet season. The little waterfall was absolutely stunning and made for a great spot to cool off. Tim the host was very friendly and made me feel very welcome and safe as a solo camper. Came for 1 night, left feeling like I stayed for 3! Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Nisha’s beautiful property. She was very friendly and accommodating and the kids really enjoyed helping feed the chickens and checking for eggs. Location is nice and peaceful and a great base for exploring the numerous local waterfalls.
