What a gem! Do yourselves a favour and stop in here, it was amazing! We walked through the track Mike told us about, found the platypus and then further on we found the gorgeous waterfall! And you have all this to yourself, one of the best campsites we’ve stayed in on our five month road trip so far!

Such a beautiful and secluded spot, so close to Cairns!
Heidi and Mike were very welcoming and generous with their delicious mandarins.
A beautiful waterfall, a creek to swim, and a large grassy area perfect for kids and dogs.
We will most certainly be back!

A beautiful secluded spot near the creek. Some great hikes nearby (Windin falls!!). Unfortunately it rained none stop, we would love to come back in warmer and dryer conditions!

We had a wonderful stay at Heidi's campsite. Heidi was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The campsite was spacious, peaceful, and well maintained, with plenty of firewood available, which made our evenings around the campfire even more enjoyable. We also loved the beautiful bush walk leading to a lovely little waterfall—it was a great bonus to our stay. We highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing nature getaway, and we would happily stay here again.

Best hosts ever! Prompt replies to requests, offered early arrival, guided us to our site - THIS is magic & beautiful, so serene, stunning nature, we listened to the creek, the birds. We appreciated the free bag of delicious mandarins and bananas. The fire pit and provided fire wood was perfect. - Thank you to our hosts, we will be definitely back

Malanda Stream Secluded Camping
I recently spent a couple of days camping at Malanda Stream Private Camping and had a wonderful experience.
On arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly family who own the property. They generously gave me a bag of fresh fruit grown on the farm. The mandarins were so juicy.
I had the entire camping area to myself, making it a peaceful and relaxing getaway. Falling asleep to the soothing sound of the stream and enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings was exactly what I was looking for. There is also a lovely walk to a nearby waterfall that is well worth exploring.
If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic camping spot with genuine country hospitality, I highly recommend Malanda Stream Private Camping.

They only allow 1 lot of campers (or groups if you want to camp with friends) at once so is nice and private.
Large++, grassy site next to a lovely creek with a waterfall. Down hill from hosts house so you wouldn't know there is anyone else around. Resident platypus, but we didn't sight him/her during our stay.
Lovely hosts who delivered free home grown
mandarins and bananas on arrival.
Firewood for a gold donation.
Pet friendly.
Feels like you're out in the middle of nowhere but it's not far town.
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

The place was amazing, nice and cool, with fantastic hosts who made us feel very welcome. The property was well maintained, clean, and clearly looked after with great care.
We enjoyed our stay, and the kids had a great time playing spotlight and kicking the footy around. The water was beautiful and very refreshing, and having fire pits supplied was a great touch that made the evenings even more enjoyable.
It was a perfect place for the whole family to relax and have fun. We would definitely recommend this place to others and would happily stay here again in the future.

So wonderful to have this space for ourselves off grid. Our dogs loved being offlead and gave them more practice for recall. Kept them on lead at night as the strange wildlife sounds were new to them. They had fun swimming in the stream. And we could do nothing but chill out, make a damper and relax and enjoy the temperature drop with no air con or fans needed. A little sanctuary with well kept flat grass. We didnt see the platypus but probably just as well it stayed hidden this time.

Great spot to camp, lovely spacious grassy area with lots of shady trees and the creek nearby. Very quiet and relaxing place with plenty of room for everyone to run around, and it was great to have the place to ourselves.
We would stay again, especially if the weather is fine and sunny!

Great Hipcamp! The big grass flat camping area down by the creek is just beautiful. Unfortunately we chose a rainy weekend however the hosts were extremely accomodating doing what they could to help keep us comfortable. Lots of firewood around, a flushing toilet and shower was a luxury. We will most definitely be back to make the most of this camp when the sun is shining!

This is an absolute piece of paradise that you can enjoy all to yourselves. I almost don't want to say how good it is so it doesn't book out. In all seriousness though, our family of four absolutely love it and come away planning when we can next revisit. Our fifth family member, Luna our dog, is in absolute heaven there and lives her best life, dipping in and out of the creek at regular intervals. Nice new addition of a toilet and shower up the hill as well. Always great hosts who leave you to your own devices but you know they are should you need anything. Thank you. We will be back.

Absolutely recommend this camp! A beautiful little patch of paradise. The hosts were lovely and easy to communicate with, which made everything so simple. It was such an easy, relaxing stay — private, peaceful, and with plenty of space for the kids to run around and enjoy.
Fireflies at night, butterflies during the day, and stunning sunsets by the fire in the afternoon — it really had everything. Definitely one we’ll be coming back to!

Heidi and Mike are absolutely lovely and were so helpful. The camping spot is gorgeous and very private. We were lucky to have baby saw-shelled turtles hatch in the evening - we noticed them when they crawled right over our feet in the dark!

Well am most impressed with Heidi and Mikes property, a right little gem in the heart of the tablelands, so quiet, secluded and private but with some amenities! We saw some Platypus, we ate fresh eggs and we had a wicked thunderstorm to deal with, and yet still enjoyed our stay, we will be back, hopefully without the storms! See you next time!

What a remarkable place, the location down along the river with plenty of shade and green grass was so beautiful. The flushing toilet and shower were an added bonus. Heidi and Mike are a lovely couple and were very quick to reply to my messages. We camped with 8 friends and everyone raved about it, we will definitely return

Heidi & Mike really are superb hosts and their secluded creek-side property is utterly amazing.
We were spoilt for choice for creekside areas to park our caravan, all of the potential sites were equally stunning, beautifully level with a lush buffalo grass carpet.
The wildlife was abundant and a true joy for birdwatchers - Victoia's Riflebirds, Wompoo Fruit Doves, Emerald Doves, Spotted Catbirds, Forrest Kingfishers and Honeyeaters. We didn't get to see a Tree Kangaroo but we did see Platypus swimming in the creek next to camp. Amazing!!

This is definitely a spot I would book again! Both Heidi and Mike are super friendly and welcoming. The area provided is huge, the site is well maintained, and the creek is beautiful with easy access and can be very close to camp if you wanted. We stayed for 3 nights but we honestly wish we could live there forever, do not hesitate to book this spot, not one single complaint!

We have had the privilege of experiencing this beautiful camp in Summer, Winter, and Spring, and each time it has revealed a new kind of magic.
Picture this: You emerge from your camper shortly after sunrise to discover a pale mist curling through the trees, softening the edges of the waking rainforest; transforming your camp-site into a quiet dream. Dew-beaded spiderwebs cling to the trees, and glimmer across the sprawling green lawn like tiny gems as the first rays of sunlight filter through the fog. The intriguing call of the Wompoo Fruit Dove beckons you on a lazy stroll along the banks of the trickling stream. A flash of blue darts by you; the Azure Kingfisher is fishing for his morning meal. Movements in the tree just outside your camper door, the Olive backed Sunbirds are busily flitting from branch to branch. The world around you feels hushed and new-touched by the calm, lingering magic of dawn. For those of you that have visited before, there are some fun developments taking place at camp. I won't divulge too many secrets, you'll have to discover them for yourself. Hints: Where does that quirky creek crossing lead to? What exactly is a 'loo with a view' ? For those who haven't been, you can rest assured that Heidi and Mike are wonderful hosts that keep the property in mint condition, and are always looking for ways to improve your camp experience. We loved camping at Malanda Private Stream. The only sounds were birds and the creek. The area is large and flat, the water was cold. Will definitely camp here again.

This is the third time we camped here, but this time we were at a different location. It was just as magical as the other times we were here. Malanda Creek is one of our favorite escapes and we have already booked out next stay. The only thing we don't like is leaving.

We love camping here! It has a beautifully manicured lawn, no dust!! Mike and Heidi are great owners who look after the property. Always looking to improve where they can. Friendly and welcoming. The spot is super private and HUGE. Lots of space for kids and dogs to run around and play. Close to the lakes for a day out.
