Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. When it's in season, you're welcome to sample some! Gordonvale is the nearest town, with a quiet historic charm, just 15 minutes drive away, while Cairns is around 25 minutes.

Water available (filtered but recomended to be boiled or treated prior to drinking) Campers need to be self contained, no toilets on site. Please respect this clean, natural setting, remove all rubbish and no interfering with flora or fauna. Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Our 20-acre exotic fruit farm backs onto World heritage rainforest and provides a relaxing base for which to explore the wet tropics south of Cairns. We have a beautiful freshwater swimming hole down the road, and also the Mulgrave River is very close if you want to do some fishing.The camping area is large, grassy and reasonably level, with space closer to the tree line, and space more out in the open. There is a firepit provided, and plenty of firewood around the place for you to help yourself to. We also welcome four-legged family members! We have had recent sightings of cassowary on our property so keep an eye out, you might just see one!We prefer self-contained campers, who have their own amenities, but we do have a toilet and shower up at the main house (about 50 metres away) you are welcome to use if needed. This is an unused bathroom downstairs so you will still have privacy. Access into the property is not suitable for large motorhomes. Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. When it's in season, you're welcome to sample some! Gordonvale is the nearest town, with a quiet historic charm, just 15 minutes drive away, while Cairns is around 25 minutes.

Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s. Heidi & Mike really are superb hosts and their secluded creek-side property is utterly amazing. We were spoilt for choice for creekside areas to park our caravan, all of the potential sites were equally stunning, beautifully level with a lush buffalo grass carpet. The wildlife was abundant and a true joy for birdwatchers - Victoia's Riflebirds, Wompoo Fruit Doves, Emerald Doves, Spotted Catbirds, Forrest Kingfishers and Honeyeaters. We didn't get to see a Tree Kangaroo but we did see Platypus swimming in the creek next to camp. Amazing!! Heidi & Mike, thanks for sharing your sensational slice of paradise, and we most certainly will return.

What a lovely spot! We were unfortunately there with the March flies ( November in the tropics!) but we lit a fire and they mostly left us alone to watch the birds. Theresa & Frank offered us the use of the swimming pool but it was cool enough at this altitude that we enjoyed a walk with our pooch and a glass of red by the fire.

Hectic Valley is a young and working farm and we really enjoyed our stay! The sites are very generous, with plenty of shady trees (bring your hammock!) and some right next to the dam which hosts many birds and some of the farms poultry. Its dog friendly with lovely scenery and little bush tracks. Campfires allowed and some fire rings are provided. In the booking was the option to include the animal feeding in the morning which I'm so glad we did! We were very warmely welcomed and everyone had a wonderful time feeding and playing with the baby goats, chickens and geese, goats and pigs, camels and water buffalos and many more! Best stay for families with children including groups of families!

Flaggy Creek Caravan Camp is set on a private 260 acre rural property at the end of an unsealed road surrounded by the peace and serenity of state forest. A highlight is a beautiful permanent creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles, an abundance of bird life with towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks. We have 4 available campsites, spread well apart (although visible) all with amazing views.. Maximum occupancy per campsite is 2 guests (of any age). All camp sites have their own fire pit (season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own from the property. Please do not bring firewood onto the property for biosecurity reasons. If you are traveling with friends and everyone wants to book a site with us we would be delighted to host you but please ensure that you set up your caravan/tent/swag individually at each site noting the maximum occupancy of 2 guests per site. Access to river is 100 metres on graded walking track. Unless you have a ‘booster ’there is very limited mobile coverage or internet. {enjoy the peace and solitude} Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway. Sites are private separated from each other, some sites suit clothing optional guests Site is 300 metres from road and provides privacy. Tents and small caravans are ideal. Not suitable for highway caravans or very large vans as the access will be too rough. There are walking areas at rear of property. Be aware tropical North Queensland has paralysis ticks and we have snakes at times and visiting pigs. Water can be supplied upon request. Power generators are permitted . There may be minimal mobile service with Telstra. Campfire will only be permitted within fire pit. All campers will need to be self contained and leave no trace behind. Plenty of space to set up where you feel comfortable within the fence and surrounded by horses. 15km or 20 minutes from Cairns City Centre and 10 minutes from Coles or Woolies in either direction. (Please note Gordonvale Woolies is closed on Sundays, Mount Sheridan shopping centre has Kmart, Coles and Woolies). A cane train line runs across the front of the property so during cane season the trains come past a few times during the day and night. They can be noisy but are fairly quick. Fresh and crystal clear swimming hole/ creek at the end of the road if you continue west down Maitland Road. Please stay in the front block and before the horse stables.
