Please read all of the following information before submitting a booking request. Requests that don’t provide the required information will not be processed. Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of sites- either Lower Sites close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property or Elevated Sites with views of the valley. LOWER SITES have access to facilities- toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. These are the only sites that caravans can access. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. When submitting a booking request, select either a Lower Site or Elevated Site. Please include your vehicle make and model, camping setup (tent/swag/camper trailer), type of toilet and ensuite tent (if requesting an elevated site) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs). Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant. We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top. Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking. We are a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you. All camp fires must be fully extinguished with water prior to departure.

The campsite is situated on the beach, sheltered by the sheoaks in the back dunes. At the rear of the campsite lies a freshwater lagoon, locally known as the keyholes. Currently, there are four sites available to be booked. There is a camp kitchen with a two gas burner, all pots and pans, plates and cutlery with table and chairs to sit at. There is also a big esky there to use for either your food or drinks. Fresh water is provided in twenty litre drums. The bush shower works on the keg being heated up just like a kettle. Once it is hot then a nice warm shower is to be had to wash off all the salt from the ocean. There is also two compost toilets for your convenience. A unique feature includes the opportunity for surfing, fishing, and swimming in your private lagoon. A short drive will take you to Point Lookout. 10 minutes and you are at the pub mixing with the locals. Access is via the beach only and tides are a consideration. Please check "Point Lookout tides" on Willy Weather. I don't normally travel on the beach if the tide is over 1.5 metres. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is required. Camper trailers can be brought in as they are light. Caravans are not permitted due to the tight turning circles.

Be prepared to apply your 4WD skills. Kobble Creek West is accessible from several locations on our property boundary. Ideal for creek exploring and rock hopping. There’s even a small lagoon now awaiting. Check out the short hiking trails on our property (there are hike options suitable to your preferred difficulty). Bring your machete for an even greater hiking experience! You can relax by or in the spring fed dam, explore seasonal Kobble Creek, feed the chickens or goats, spot the abundant bird life, or sit patiently and a deer or fox may appear at dusk. Enjoy the evenings sitting around the campfire as you gaze at the stars. All sites have sufficient spacing from other sites to ensure acceptable privacy. You are welcome to enjoy our off-grid camping with the expectation that facilities are minimal. NOTE: Surcharges exist for a number of circumstances, including day visitors and single-night bookings. Our farm features lush, green rolling hills with a river, creek and dam traversing the property. There are undulating hills with pockets of forest. The campsites are nestled in the groves of trees next to the creek. There's some great swimming spots, or you can go for a bushwalk and do a spot of fossicking on the water's edge. Some parts of our property are 4WD access only, but we also have good camping spots that can accommodate 2WDs. You need to be a self-contained camper with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. Daisy Hill Conservation Park is also a short drive away which is a great spot for a picnic and offers mountain bike trails, walking tracks and a BBQ area. Moreton bay access is also close by with a short drive to either Victoria Point, Cleveland or Redland Bay. In addition, the property has beautiful walking trails. Campfires permitted however must be kept within the allocated fire pit and must be outside of restrictions. You must have portable toilet and be fully self-sufficient. All waste to be removed by campers upon departure. We would like to preserve this site for all future campers so please ensure that you abide by our rules. Generators welcomed, to be switched off between 10pm and 7am. Please be mindful of loud music after 10pm - please adhere to this request else you may be asked to leave. Unfortunately, to preserve our wildlife, no pets allowed. 4WD Required for this property. We cannot accommodate large caravans at this stage, due to the access to the site (steep gravelled driveway) and track to campsite has some bends not suitable for long vehicles) Please Note - absolutely no trespassing on neighbour’s properties, stay behind the rocks and fences and do not access the Quarry, as they have CCTV, and you will be charged with Trespassing. Powered Caravan site is also grassy and flat with a large area for kids to play. If you choose to set up in the open away from the trees the house will be in sight (45m away), but we live a quiet life and respect your privacy. The property is on the Brisbane River, the site offers river glimpses however there is no river access. Suitable for tents, campers trailers, caravans and RV's. We are close to the CBD so the site is a great option for a 'shake down' for your new caravan or camper trailer. If you're new to camping this is a great place to ease into a lifestyle that offers so many opportunities further afield. You won't have to share the campsite with other campers, you will have the spot all to yourselves. Supermarket, bottle shop, takeaways, cafe and pharmacy less that 4 km away. Campfires are permitted. Firewood is available as an 'extra' for $20, please go to 'extras' to add to your booking alterantively purchase on arrival. Power (10amp) and drinkable water is available close to campsite. There is a fire pit (when fires are permitted) so bring marshmallows to toast for the children. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. There is access to water but no rubbish facilities are available. All rubbish has to go home with you We have lots of wildlife in particular birds, hence dogs need to be on a leashes at all times. We are located half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with the bush giving our property great privacy. There is lots of opportunity for bush walking. The knight Ranch is a small hobby farm with beautiful flat grassy fields, Established trees providing plenty of shade. Wildlife a plenty. With resident animals tawny frog mouth and ducks. The camp/caravan site is isolated out in the rear paddock. The most pristine area on the property. As soon as you arrive you will begin to relax. Easy access off wallace road and easy pull through to the back paddock. Open grassy field with established trees overlooking a small dam and bushland. The perfect place to set up, chuck a roast on and crack a cold one. Campfire locations set up with rocks. Sunrises through the trees over the wetland/bushes. Close proximity (driving) to the river for a spot of fishing, the bay for an early morning walk or explore with the kids and the local tavern for some adult time. A walk up Wallace road on an evening is quite nice if you are looking to stretch your legs. Glass house mountains are a 20-25min drive for some great hikes and if you make it to the top some worthy photos. Brisbane is 45min drive with no traffic. Bribie island is a 22min drive with lots of great cafes and flat walks available. IMPORTANT: The Ranch is on the corner of beachmere and Wallace road. Access is off Wallace road. After you turn onto Wallace road it’s the first right at the yellow letterbox. Pull through and down to the left. Through the gate next to the container out into the back paddock. Please keep this gate shut. There is a designated area for Hip-Camp straight and to the right near the fire pit and bucket. If you have animals please clean up after them and dogs are to be on lead if they do not recall or like to chase wildlife. As we have wonderful bird life along with lizards and chickens on the property. The fire pit has bricks around it. You can help yourself to any kindling but it’s BYO firewood. Please do not chop logs or collect logs from the property.

Weekend Trip to Sarabah Creek Camping

My group of 14 stayed for my bday weekend & had the best time! Huge perks of the place: -The hosts, Patrick & Tom had amazing comms throughout the entire process & shared some important tips like internet access/things to do around the area/prompt that it’s cold at night, even in late spring etc. They were lovely & prepared an amazing spot for our group. They even offered some discount options! -The toilet is an awesome long drop design that doesn’t smell, even after a huge group for a few days. It’s strategically placed near the fire pit so we didn’t have to walk for ages from where we spent majority of our time. It also has charging ports so you can keep your phones etc charged. We were so impressed with this! -The freshwater creek was perfect for swimming. There’s a section deep enough to dive in & swim around & other parts you can sit on the rocks & enjoy shallow water. -The section is flat & very spacious so there were many options to put the tents without being super close to each other. The trees lined up on the creek side provide shade from around mid morning too which was handy to not have to squeeze under our gazebos! -The cows and calves that roam through the site are the cutest! Some even let you pat them. -If you forgot anything or need to top up supplies, it’s only a 15min or so drive to Canungra. It’s a really great spot for groups of all sizes but ideal for a big group! Highly, highly recommend!

My client and I enjoyed the quietness of the stay, but disappointed on the lack of animals that your post said. My client had a bad night Thursday night and I silly get the three dogs out on the morning and got greeted by a lady telling at me , that the dogs business was their and their. I took it on the chin but it would gave need nicer if she marked the places and asked nicely to pick up their business like I had and was doing. But my client and I loved the quietness greatly.

We had the most wonderful stay at Jotoludy, it was the perfect introduction to camping for our young family (with children under 5). As first-time campers, we couldn’t have asked for a better setup. The large shelter with tables and seating was very convenient as well as having access to power, a fridge, and sinks gave us peace of mind while still letting us enjoy the camping experience. The site is private, so we didn’t have to worry about other campers, which made us feel safe and relaxed. It’s very spacious, beautifully maintained, and perfect for stargazing, kicking a soccer ball, and sending our 4 year old off on little nature treasure hunts. There was plenty of space to choose where to set up our tent, which was a big bonus. Although it was ideal for a small family’s first camping trip, we could also see it being a fantastic spot for larger groups or celebrations. The creek was lovely too. We had no trouble accessing it, though it might be a little tricky for less mobile visitors as the path is narrow and steep. My 4 year old absolutely loved being woken up by the cows outside our tent, he thought it was hilarious. I didn’t get to meet the hosts initially as we were running so far behind schedule we missed them, but my partner had a chat with them on the way out and said Katrina was lovely. Overall, it was an incredible first time camping experience that we’ll treasure and would highly recommend!

Fantastic spot and awesome host, we loved the shade from the trees and the supplied park bench made a great spot to sit and eat, the creek was an easy walk and a refreshing spot to cool down, the grounds were well maintained and the toilet were clean . Would definitely come back again, plenty of room to throw a ball for the dog, and the friendly wildlife entertained you with there presents, we were only there 5 days which went way to quick. I had such a lovely and peaceful stay here. I had the whole place to myself (except for the cows) which was a real treat. Quite a well kept property too. I’ve got a Toyota Corolla and that handled the 3 creek crossings and dirt roads pretty well. Just make sure to check if it 2WD safe when you arrive as I don’t think I could have gotten through if the water was any higher. The only negative feedback I have is that the directions were a little confusing and the address the owner gave me was different to the location on Hipcamp (address from owner is correct). I was also woken up at 6am to some construction work going on which lasted all morning until I left at 11:30 ish. Overall, a lovely stay and I’m sure I’ll be back ☺️

Daisy Hill Conservation Park is also a short drive away which is a great spot for a picnic and offers mountain bike trails, walking tracks and a BBQ area. Moreton bay access is also close by with a short drive to either Victoria Point, Cleveland or Redland Bay. In addition, the property has beautiful walking trails. Campfires permitted however must be kept within the allocated fire pit and must be outside of restrictions. You must have portable toilet and be fully self-sufficient. All waste to be removed by campers upon departure. We would like to preserve this site for all future campers so please ensure that you abide by our rules. Generators welcomed, to be switched off between 10pm and 7am. Please be mindful of loud music after 10pm - please adhere to this request else you may be asked to leave. Unfortunately, to preserve our wildlife, no pets allowed. 4WD Required for this property. The property is on the Brisbane River, the site offers river glimpses however there is no river access. Suitable for tents, campers trailers, caravans and RV's. We are close to the CBD so the site is a great option for a 'shake down' for your new caravan or camper trailer. If you're new to camping this is a great place to ease into a lifestyle that offers so many opportunities further afield. You won't have to share the campsite with other campers, you will have the spot all to yourselves. Supermarket, bottle shop, takeaways, cafe and pharmacy less that 4 km away. Campfires are permitted. There is a fire pit (when fires are permitted) so bring marshmallows to toast for the children. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. There is access to water but no rubbish facilities are available. All rubbish has to go home with you We have lots of wildlife in particular birds, hence dogs need to be on a leashes at all times. We are located half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with the bush giving our property great privacy. There is lots of opportunity for bush walking. The knight Ranch is a small hobby farm with beautiful flat grassy fields, Established trees providing plenty of shade. Wildlife a plenty. With resident animals tawny frog mouth and ducks. The camp/caravan site is isolated out in the rear paddock. The most pristine area on the property. As soon as you arrive you will begin to relax. Easy access off wallace road and easy pull through to the back paddock. Open grassy field with established trees overlooking a small dam and bushland. The perfect place to set up, chuck a roast on and crack a cold one. Campfire locations set up with rocks. Sunrises through the trees over the wetland/bushes. Close proximity (driving) to the river for a spot of fishing, the bay for an early morning walk or explore with the kids and the local tavern for some adult time. A walk up Wallace road on an evening is quite nice if you are looking to stretch your legs. Glass house mountains are a 20-25min drive for some great hikes and if you make it to the top some worthy photos. Brisbane is 45min drive with no traffic. Bribie island is a 22min drive with lots of great cafes and flat walks available. IMPORTANT: The Ranch is on the corner of beachmere and Wallace road. Access is off Wallace road. After you turn onto Wallace road it’s the first right at the yellow letterbox. Pull through and down to the left. Through the gate next to the container out into the back paddock. Please keep this gate shut. There is a designated area for Hip-Camp straight and to the right near the fire pit and bucket. If you have animals please clean up after them and dogs are to be on lead if they do not recall or like to chase wildlife. As we have wonderful bird life along with lizards and chickens on the property. The fire pit has bricks around it. You can help yourself to any kindling but it’s BYO firewood. Please do not chop logs or collect logs from the property.

Kerry Valley Secret - Stockyard Creek and Platypus Campsites in the Scenic Rim are exclusive bush campsites - once you have booked no-one else will be able to camp at that site - and they are perfect for groups! The Stockyard Creek Campsite is situated on the babbling Stockyard Creek and there is a short walk to the bigger Albert River waterhole. This pretty spot features Silky Oaks and Ironwood trees, views to Luke's Bluff and Ding Bing falls in Lamington National Park, has plenty of shade for tents and a huge space for caravans and camper trailers to turn around in Family groups love the site for the babbling but shallow child friendly Stockyard Creek - perfect for paddling and playing in. The Platypus Campsite has larger waterholes than the Stockyard Creek Campsite and you are able to wander the 2km of river frontage while fishing. It has easy access off the main Kerry Road. Friends love our campsites for catch ups, the bird watching, small historical or nature walks around the property and of course the cool waterholes in the Albert River. Other groups use Kerry Valley Secret as a base camp for hiking adventures in the wilderness end of Lamington National Park. Bring your togs and floaties to cool down in the waterhole on the Albert River. Don't forget the marshmallows to roast on the fire at night (firewood provided). Binoculars and boots are a must for bird watching and exploring our walking tracks through the forest. Both campsites have basic toilet facilities (a portaloo) and firepit (with a free bag of kindling provided). Stockyard Creek Campsite also includes a picnic table and sink. Exclusivity is a feature of both our campsite and for that reason we only take a flat rate booking. Once you have booked no one else will be able to camp at the site, it is all yours.
