Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot!
The Stonesthrow Bush Camping sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Some sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. THESE ARE THE ONLY SITES THAT CARAVANS CAN ACCESS.
The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites.
Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent.
We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top.
Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking.
We are a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you.
All camp fires must be fully extinguished with water prior to departure.

This is a small (roughly 100m²), private, fully fenced grassy area at the back of our ¾-acre block, facing a bushland nature reserve. It’s accessible via a gated driveway and located behind our shed.
There’s plenty of room to turn around on our property when driving in, but you must be able to reverse into the site. A separate space is available to park your vehicle once unhooked.
The space is suitable for one caravan or RV, but there’s also room for another (either) camper van or rooftop camper, tent or swag(s) if you have extra people. We can accommodate a maximum of up to six guests, including van occupants.
The price per night is for one couple. Extra persons are $25 per person per night. We will consider a pet since the area is fenced; however, this is by application, as we have free-ranging chickens and two mini dachshunds on the property. Please do ask in advance.
Water and power hookups are included, and a toilet is available for your use. We also provide a brazier and firewood.
We’re a 3-minute drive from Godwin Beach (which does have a beach at low tide), 7 minutes from Sandstone Point Hotel and the Oyster Shed, and only 10 minutes from Bribie Island — where you can explore the waterways of Pumicestone Passage, enjoy the waves at Woorim Surf Beach, or drive the 4WD tracks of the island and beaches (a national park permit is required).
There are ample local convenience stores and service stations within a 5 km radius, and a public dump point at Sandstone Point near the Spinnaker Sound Boat Ramp.

From many parts of the farm you have beautiful views encompassing Maleny, Glasshouse Mountains, Bribie Island, Moreton Island, Stradbroke Island, Redcliffe, and Brisbane Port Site.
We have a beautiful deepwater lake that's perfect for swimming and canoeing. The property is traversed by several rainforested creeks and ravines, which are perfect for adventure hiking and rock climbing.
We can also take you horse riding around the farm for a couple of hours or to the local winery if you prefer a longer ride. We cater for all levels of riding.
We have many panoramic campsites for you to choose from. These are suited to anyone with the swag, tent, camper, caravan, or motorhome. You must be self-sufficient, with your own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste when you go.
For those who prefer the comforts of home we have a bunkhouse which sleeps 10 and has electricity, water, flush toilet, shower, stove, microwave and TV.
Linen is not supplied.
If you are driving 2wd, or 4wd towing a caravan or a big trailer and GPS takes you through Mountain View Rd - do not go that way - go through Dayboro Rd.
For those without transport Dakabin train station is 25 min from the farm. Pick up and drop off to the station can be arranged. There is a wide variety of shops and restaurants less than 10 min away.

How to get to us? We have two ways in .
Option 1:
Via Flagstone onto Bushman Drive – then into Wyatt road follow to the end and turn right onto undullah road follow for 5 ks .
we approximately 14 km from the Flagstone Shopping Centre.
Please note: 10 km of this route is gravel road. 4x4 vehicle access is recommended.
Option 2:
From the Centenary Freeway roundabout, at ripley head 21 km along Ripley Road, which continues and changes name to Undullah Road.
This route is 4x4 access is recommended with some narrow bends – please drive to conditions. We do have 2 wheel drives make the journey !

Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is 5min away if you jump on at Borallon Station Rd. Some cattle tracks for the kids to ride along in the paddock also.
-Wivenhoe, Somerset Dam in the area for water sports
-Wildlife watching, this paddock sustains a large variety of native animals, if you’ve got a keen eye

The property offers a true bush camping experience — no powered sites, no busy tourist parks — just open space, fresh air, and peaceful surroundings. Wildlife is often seen, and the seasonal creek and surrounding bushland make it a beautiful place to explore.
Each site is individually positioned throughout the property, with larger sites available for those wanting extra space or travelling in groups.

A beautiful grassy paddock with shady trees, amazing scenery and a night sky to die for. Its fenced off from the farm and is only 2km from Godwin beach, 1k from Sandstone Lakes and just a short drives from Sandstone point hotel and Bribie island.
If you like the farm life there is plenty of cattle, or chickens and horses to check out.
There is plenty of activities to do such as; fishing, walking tracks, shopping centers and more.

My favourite camping spot to date. My son (3.5y.o) had an absolute blast following the animals (and host) around. Ammenities are great, and if you’re up early you’ll see the hot air balloons go over. As a single parent, I felt safe letting my boy free range. Could not speak more highly of both the farm stay experience, and Guy + his family as warm and hospitable hosts.

Spent a couple of days here. Beautiful grassy site only 1hr from home. Quiet, peaceful location except for the occasional RAAF jet flying overhead. Most probably our new most favourite camp site close to home. We will be back.

We had such a wonderful experience here and absolutely loved our stay. The place was beautiful, peaceful, and so well maintained. Everything felt welcoming and comfortable, and you can really feel the care and effort that goes into making this place special.
The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, making it the perfect place to enjoy nature and create great memories. The hosts were incredibly kind and friendly, which made our experience even better.

The cabin was the most beautiful place I’ve seen, Kathryn and Phillip were so kind and welcoming nicest people we’ve met since our move to Queensland our family has had a hard time and they helped us so much so grateful for that, 100% recommend their cabin.

We had an amazing stay at Range Top Farm hosted by Viola. From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly welcoming and went out of her way to guide us to our campsite, making the whole experience easy and stress-free.
The views were absolutely breathtaking — overlooking the Glass House Mountains with stunning views stretching all the way to the city. It was peaceful, scenic, and the perfect place to unwind.
Viola was a fantastic host and made us feel right at home. We’d highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back again!

One of the best camps we have been to so far, almost all the animals you can think of kept our kids entertained all day long. They are all so friendly and we don't want to leave. Beautiful quiet and secluded campsites. We loved exploring the fresh spring fed creek and bush walks. Guy and Isabelle were so welcoming and helpful, happy to answer and questions we had. Can't wait to come back!

Great spot close to Beaudesert with shower and toilet. Host was very welcoming and kids loved all the animals. Property is very well maintained, good walking tracks, nice grassy mowed spaces to camp in. Will definitely visit again. Thank you!
