3 nights at Amamoor Creek Camping n Caravanning

Beautiful river side camp site with porta loo. Backs onto National Park. Lots of birds and wildlife. Water in the Amamoor Creek was crystal clear making it a favourite swimming spot for my miniature schnauzer Rylie. Originally booked for 3 nights but stayed an extra night. I forgot my mattress pump so Franki delivered a pump and my wood down to my campsite, so helpful when you are setting up on your own. Can't wait to come back with my camping mates.

1 night at Big Baldy Mountain

Great spot amongst the friendly cows, started a walk to the top of bald mountain, with our 3 dogs, ending up with 6 dogs at the top. Nathan is a top bloke, and the views are to die for.

Unreal spot! 4 great camp spots away from eachother enough to have privacy and a nice fire. Would definitely recommend. Love the residents doggos!

We camped up the top of the property and the views were amazing and the sunrises were absolute perfection. It was very peaceful and a great retreat from the coast. Nathan was very accomodating and had great communication which made it stress free weekend away to organise.

Such a lovely stay, especially for a quick night being so close to Gympie! Spacious sites, fire pits & stunning views. We loved that the hosts are friendly but not constantly popping their head in. The dogs were probably the peak of the stay though, we will definitely be back to see Miss Lola!

What a beautiful spot! We enjoyed spending time together by the camp fire and exploring the creek. It was so lovely to have the open space, but still people around to not be so secluded. Will be back!

We loved our time here. Was relaxing, quiet and plenty of room even for a long weekend. We enjoyed a walk up the creek which had beautiful clear water. Toilets were cleaned twice daily and quality firewood available to purchase onsite. We look forward to coming back again.

Love, love, love this camp... Our new favourite spot! A spacious, relaxing, green and tranquil area, it was surreal sitting by a fire, under a blanket of stars, listening to a running creek and being surrounded by a depth of forest, against a mountain... just stunning! Frankie and Steve were very helpful, friendly and responsive. Slightly off the beaten track but our semi off road van was fine. A great place with a friendly community atmosphere, really enjoyed the experience and will be back VERY soon!

Weekend Trip to Maya Nature Park

We absolutely loved it out at Maya Nature Park, despite the rain, we have all come home feeling relaxed. Clean amenities and hot showers. Lucas's and his partner are amazing! Friendly and accommodating. Kids had a blast, plenty of room for them to get dirty and keep them off then screens. Highly recommend a Thai Massage, one of the best I've had in years 🙂 Thanks for having us and we will most definitely be back soon!

The place is the best for camping and see the real nature. The creek beside the camping site was amazing. The ones who want to spend time with real nature, this is the best place. Toilet facilities also good and very friendly staf. Highly Recommended. ❤️🍃

Weekend Trip to Amamoor Creek Camping n Caravanning

We spent the Anzac Day weekend at Steve’s place with some friends and loved it. The site is about 7 klms down the road from where The Gympie Music Muster is held. The grounds looked like we were camped on a golf fairway and the portable toilet was cleaned daily. The creek was flowing when we arrived and then it received a bit of a top up after a couple of showers of rain. We went for a walk through the creek and found a couple of nice waterholes for abit of a dip. The creek was beautiful. We had a lovely peaceful weekend there and there were only about 8 other campsites. We realised we were running short on firewood late one afternoon and asked if we could buy some the next day. Steve and Frankie messaged us and offered to deliver it to us straight away. Great service from them. A couple of bush walks in the area. We did the one that started next door to the Gympie Music Muster site. It was about 2.5 klms which took us about 45 mins. Nice walk, a couple of inclines but nothing too strenuous. We had the camp to ourselves on the Sunday night and after having had a couple of cloudy nights previously, the sky was beautiful and clear so the stars were amazing. Would highly recommend a visit to Steve’s place.

The campground area is 1 acre and a max of 3 caravans at a time, so you won't be surround by a crowd of people. This camp is an easy seven minute drive from the Gympie Music Muster site. Get in early to set up camp at your choice of positions on a mostly flat paddock in the crook of huge private valley. 4WD is not totally necessary but may be advantageous in wet weather or to those wanting to get off the beaten track. With creek frontage, shade trees overhead and ranging hills behind, at this camp site you will be sure to catch sight of many birds, wallabies, and other wildlife. Bring your camera! There is a porta loo (and coming soon, a hot shower) on site, we will hire more if bookings are thick but if you are self contained that is awesome! We have a few fire pits and rings available. Exploring the area is a must. You have the creek right here and the forest, nearby are National Parks with marked trails, more creeks to swim in and wildlife to observe. Bunya Farm Produce is open on Saturday mornings for a taste of the best offerings around and Amamoor markets greet the steam train every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday morning. There are many farm-gate suppliers in the region for you try our fresh produce. Kybong has "Hell Town Hotrods" as you imagine, this place is an Alladin's Cave for those into anything vintage, retro, car or petrol.... complete with a workshop for custom hotrod rebuilds. There is a neat cafe and bar on site too. Gympie is close by with the Heritage Museum, featuring the history of gold mining and industries of the area. You can learn how to pan for gold there then come back and practice in the creek. Art enthusiasts should drop in for morning tea at Chai Chai, and see what’s on exhibition at The ART POST then Gympie Region Art Gallery - both venues offer high quality exhibits and sale of artworks by our local artists. SoMa SoMa is where to go for awesome breakfast, brunches or lunches with delicious coffee, shakes and fresh juices also, open from 6:30am 7 days a week. Friday nights SoMa SoMa opens the Tapas and Wine Bar. We look forward to seeing you but don't worry, it may only be to let you in the front gate!
