Our sites are completely isolated from town, with views and not visible from the road. Sites are set among nearly 100 acres of a mix of open land and rainforest. Multiple natural springs exist on the property and a few small spring-fed waterholes are scattered down the cascading hills. Friendly ducks, geese, fish, horses and an abundance of native wildlife live here. This location is home to several endangered species due to being one of the last isolated pockets of rainforest in the area.
Sites are part of The Bush Clinic where we specialise in designing and making natural creams, soaps, teas, dodorants and other products as well as running regular Meditation courses and topics such as Energy, Frequency, Grounding and Advanced Organic Growth techniques for those wanting to join in are formally available during your stay.
We are new to HipCamp so have limited facilities at present, but they are in progress and we have loads of space per site, comfortable, and lots to offer for those wanting to reconnect with Nature. If you know what ley-lines are - this is the right place to visit ;-)

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot!
The Stonesthrow Bush Camping sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Some sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. THESE ARE THE ONLY SITES THAT CARAVANS CAN ACCESS.
The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites.
Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent.
We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top.
Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking.
We are a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you.

The rainforest Treehouse is situated in a rainforest pocket of the Mount Warning Caldera, completely surrounded by lush and vibrant nature and sheltered from the outside world, while being just 2 minutes away from us and the comfy road that will take you to an amazing swimming hole, cafés and the nearby town.
Once you enter the Treehouse private drive you will feel yourself being transported into a magical world of gently flowing water, natural light, tall trees, chirping birds, rustling leaves, crickets, and frogs.
You will notice the energy shift into the safe embrace of our land, protected by Springbrook Mountain.
The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek.
We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy.
As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot.
It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world.
Now it is here for you to enjoy, to reconnect with your dreams, to dive deep into your childhood playful memories where the world of fantasy and reality merge together.

Great location. Close to everything at Mount Tambourine and the local Tavern. Very quiet and we had a nice outlook up to Mount Tambourine. Kezza was a great host who was more than happy to show us around their Moringa plants and what they can be used for. We had never heard of this plant prior to our stay.

My sister and I loved the quiet and peaceful camp site with views of the creek and the cows on the green hill. We had a bonfire on the 2nd night and went for a walk alongside the farm land during the day which was lovely. The only fault was the dog barking for some of the night on the 1st night on one of the neighbouring properties but that was it.

Absolutely gorgeous property and mountain views from the moment you arrive. The winding driveway transports you up the hill where I was warmly greeted by the host and guided to my site, “Swaggers”, a small, private space perched on the hill with beautiful outlooks. While the campsites are visible from parts of the property, each still offers a lovely sense of privacy, peace and quiet.
My stay came after weeks of heavy rain and continued wet weather throughout, making conditions extremely slippery, but the hosts went above and beyond to safely guide me into site as a solo traveller. Once setup, complimentary firewood was delivered directly to keep it dry, which was such a thoughtful touch. I was also lucky enough to receive some delicious passionfruit on arrival.
Despite two days of constant rain, the changing mountain views and my Ozpig fireplace meant I could still relax by the fire under shelter and truly enjoy the experience. The host also checked in on departure morning to ensure I could safely exit the property given the conditions, which was greatly appreciated.
Each site has its own feel, Swaggers is cosy and tucked beside a retained garden wall and closest stroll to toilet. Mangos offers elevated uninterrupted views, Abraham is nestled privately amongst the trees, while Pinnacles sits lower near the dam with a beautifully manicured flat area and a secluded feel.
A stunning property with genuinely caring hosts. I’d happily return (especially during a dry period).

Nice quiet camp with lots of trees and a good view of the stars at nighttime.
My site had grass which is always a bonus.
Close to neighbours but they were very friendly and kind, even helped me set up as I got there late and offered to lend their spare firepit to me.
Short drive to Mt Tamborine so you can go check out activities there during the day and restaurants/groceries are not far away.
Kezza was a great host, we had a good chat while feeding the ducks and chooks.
I was late because of bad traffic and had a surprise guest and she was understanding.
Good place for dogs, there were a few on the property and all were well behaved.

Great little spot to get outdoors and relax.
We had such a lovely time, it was peaceful and so relaxing to sit and listen to the birds (and goats in the distance).
Enough space to be far enough away from other campers.
It was raining the entire time we were there and the ground drained quickly so it wasnt too slushy.
The track in is steep so a 4wd would definitely be recommended.
The creek is a short and easy stroll from camping spots, the path down is a little slippery in the wet, but just adds to the adventure!

Very beautiful spot with plenty of room! Each camp site is spacious and private! Will definitely be back again! Will miss the ducks they were so friendly and loved hanging out with us! Thank you Karlie for sharing your beautiful bit of paradise!!

Amazing, was very peaceful , great views , the creek , the scenery/hills etc. Also Bryce was very helpful in helping me setup as I was new to camping. Provided a lot of firewood and showed me how to make a fire. Was nice to see the cattle up close as well. I’m thinking about definitely coming back

I had a great time with my partner at Sarah’s. Even though it was slightly raining, we still enjoyed a nice dinner, sat around a campfire, and took in the view (tbh slight rain made better vibe). The facilities were clean, which my partner especially appreciated. I’ll definitely be going back.

Great spot for a camping getaway close to home but felt like we could’ve been hours away!Very peaceful and sheltered from the wind with lots of space for our toddler to run around! Unfortunately due to rain, we had to leave a day earlier. Thanks for having us Simone 😊

Fantastic place. Being by the river was amazing, paddle boarded for hours. There was no problems. James was so accommodating with a bigger group. Just made for a great fun weekend. Will definately be going back
