Please notify us if you are camping with other campers who have booked a separate site so we can have you camping beside each other During busy times, most weekend bookings are a minimum of 2 nights with 1 night bookings during the week, however occasionally we will have 1 night bookings on weekends. Check with your host to see availability on 1 night bookings. All campsites run parallel too the creek and are situated on the upper bank of Yabba Creek. Some have creek views, the other sites have trees between the creek and their site. All have mountain views. The main access to the creek is half way along the campground between site 8 and 9. Please do not leave your car parked in the walkway as this will block the entrance to campsite 9. Unfortunately, we lost many of our creek access points due to flooding. Our property is situated between Imbil and Lake Borumba on the beautiful Yabba Creek. We have 110 acres, with campsites on 20 acres. We have 1km of creek frontage. The creek offers fishing, swimming and kayaking. If you're lucky you'll spot the platypus in the creek and there's lots of birdlife around so bring your cameras! Kayaks are supplied free for all campers to use. We just ask that you treat them with respect and return them back to their launching place once you have finished with them. It would pay to pack your reef walkers as the river is rocky in spots. There is lots of space for motorhomes and large camping vehicles to maneuver and park. Plenty of flat spots for your tent or vehicle. This campsite has access to flushing toilets (toilets are situated approx. 400m from the camp sites) and water (rainwater), but you will need to bring your own camping shower. Campfires are permitted outside of fire-ban season (please use the existing firepits). The property features a gorgeous rainforest with a walking track that you can follow safely, and you can also access the state forest next door if you're up for a bigger adventure. Lake Borumba is just down the road which permits water skiing, boating, fishing and other water recreation. The town ship of Imbil is only 7 minutes away where you can visit the many cafes, bakeries, The Imbil pub, Sunday markets, Produce and hardware store, supermarket, butcher, clothing shops, hairdresser, fishing supplies, Petrol station, post office and more. We are a working cattle and horse property but we do allow pets, however pet owners will need to abide by the rules as set out under the Rules and Safety "Pets" section. Please note that there is a rifle range within hearing distance from Maluka Park and campers may at times on weekends hear gunshots. This generally only goes for a few hours.

Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered. Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay. Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. Each vehicle must bring and use its own self-contained portable toilet and portable shower; The use of the property’s land and surrounding area for toileting, washing, or grey water discharge is strictly prohibited; Washing, bathing, or disposing of any waste water in the river or on the ground is strictly prohibited; All human waste, grey water, and associated waste materials must be removed from the site upon departure and disposed of at an appropriate off-site facility. Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered. Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay. Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. These rules include no machinery or pump operated sluices such as high banking sluices. Detectors are welcome and some great finds have been found with them including gold and coins from the 1860’s. Large groups are welcome. There are many great shaded camping spots along the creek or a large open area of about 50 acres for larger groups. There is also a year round swimming hole fed by a solar bore on the property for anyone wanting to cool down. Kids under 12 are free but if fossicking must be covered by a permit. Pets are welcome. We had a lovely stop over at the Hidden Creek Camping ground. Had the place to ourselves. Our site was nice and flat situated under the gum trees. They are in the process of making a lagoon, which will make it even better to be able to cool off in the summer.

Great spot at Site 2 a stones throw from Kennilworh but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. If is hot, a five minute walk down to the Mary river for a dip. Shane was welcoming and helpful. Plenty to do in and around Kenilworth, hiking 4WDing, swimming holes and don't forget 2 try the "coffee donut" in town.

Absolutely incredible campsite! I wish we had been able to stay for longer, but so glad that we managed to get a couple of nights. Campsite is spotless, pitches are really large and the top 2 in particular have great views over the hills and down to the river. We had the site all to ourselves for the two nights we were there so it was really peaceful. Fire pit was great, and so were the kayaks for a peaceful paddle down the river after a day at the markets. Thank you so much!
