We had an a great time at Hidden Creek farm. The kids had so much fun at the playground, going for walks down to the creek, riding their bikes around etc. Such a perfect spot to set up and relax for the weekend! Janita and her family (Mary the dog included) are really lovely and welcoming! We loved the little convenience store as well, so cute and handy! Highly reccomend

The Owners couldn't be more helpful, very warm and welcoming. Big open camp-sites with portable fire pits supplied, surrounded by beautiful natural bushland. We enjoyed the many walking tracks through the rainforest down to the creek for a swim in the lagoon and a paddle in the kayaks supplied. Saratoga, bass, silver perch and catfish on offer for the keen Angler. Great for young kids with a playground and animals. We loved it and will be back.

This quiet little campground is a hidden gem! We were blown away by the gorgeous setting amongst the trees, with a short, pleasant walk down to a creek. The campsites are perfect – spacious and not cramped at all, offering plenty of room to spread out. It has all the essentials you need, including showers and toilets, which were well-maintained. Upon arriving, the beautiful collie Mary will show you the way to your campsite and then she will be back to check on you during your stay. She is the true owner of the farm! What really made our stay special were the owners, Alex and Janita. They were absolutely the best hosts, sharing stories about the area and the farm over a beer while burning out a stump. Our daughter even became best friends with their little boy, Flynn, which made the experience even more memorable. We'll definitely be back and making this our go-to spot for quiet weekend getaways. If you're looking for a peaceful and welcoming place to camp, this is it!

We loved our stay at Hidden Creek Farm. Flynn’s camp was the perfect bush camp with easy access to toilets and showers. Lots of space for the kids to run and play. Caught a good feed of freshwater prawns out of the creek. The off leash dog area and small convince store is a really nice touch. Highly recommend this stay.

This pet friendly campsite on the bank of the Kolan River has new, clean facilities, friendly hosts, and beautiful countryside to explore. Only 20 mins from Gin Gin, 30 mins from Bundaberg, and just down the road from the Bucca Hotel and Bucca Crossing Picnic Area (bring the kayaks). Looking forward to seeing the further development and additions to this great site.

We loved camping at Hidden Creek Farm and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. This is a great spot for a quiet break with a choice of well maintained camping areas. We chose Fraser’s Field with plenty of open area, so the sunshine could top up our solar, but Flynn’s Camp closer to the creek is a beautiful and secluded shady area. The sweet farm animals and Mary the border collie were an extra bonus. It was great to have access to a tiny onsite shop for essentials and firewood, and the basic amenities were very clean. We didn’t get a clear night sky, but I imagine the stars would be wonderful at night.

We recently stayed at Bucca County River Retreat and absolutely loved our time there. If you’re looking for a calm, quiet spot surrounded by nature, this is the perfect getaway. The site locations are beautifully spread out, offering plenty of space and privacy, whether you’re in a tent, caravan, or one of their self-contained ensuite cabins. The facilities are top-notch — the toilets and amenities were exceptionally clean and well-maintained throughout our stay, which made the experience even more comfortable. A big thank you to our host, Sarah, who welcomed all of us so warmly. Her hospitality really made us feel at home and added a personal touch to our stay. It’s a serene riverside retreat not too far from Bundaberg — perfect for families, couples, or solo travellers wanting to unwind in nature

Paradise Lost on the Burnett was a wonderful camping spot. The camping sites were spacious and were shady. We were camped right beside the river and there was good access to the water for fishing or kayaking, it was a lovely peaceful spot.

Rosgrow Farm, 15 minutes off the Bruce Highway, offers secluded campsites set on a large tidal creek. There are plenty of trees and shelter. The creek offers fishing, crabbing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, boating and swimming. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also. Check in is after 1pm and check out is strictly before 10.30am, we promise you will get your 'Heilen Coo' fix 😝 We have Souvineers and firewood please bring cash 😍 Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. Don’t have a kayak, no worries. We also have kayaks available for hire. We also have the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets here, with beautiful birdlife including hawks and water eagles. Great for bird watching and photography! All campsites have access to the water unless we are advised per booking. Less than 5km down the road you will find Wallaville where there is a great local Wallaville pub, and a corner store that offers great pizza. Telstra is available for communication, and we are also only 18km from Gin Gin and around 50km from Bundaberg. Campfires permitted in the designated areas only, bring your own fire pit when possible as we have a limited number of fire pits available. when fire restrictions/bans are not in place. Plenty of fallen timber around the place to collect for firewood. I suggest U bring wood for the ist night, In case it has rained & saves the hassle first up allowing U to chill out sooner 🥂 Well behaved pets welcome, but they must be kept under control and you must pick up after them. Our names are Chris and Christine. We recently moved to Gundiah Qld and acquired a beautiful piece of land (approx. 320 acres) with about 70 acres of picturesque camping located on the Mary River. Our property is located halfway between Gympie and Maryborough (approx. 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway) tucked away down a private road which is lovely and peaceful. We have some walking trails located on the Camp Grounds to take in the scenery, or for the more adventurous located behind the office are longer walking trails with spectacular views at the top. There is a bike track and playground with Mini Putt Putt to keep the kids amused! Currently an RC track in the making for the remote 4WD enthusiasts. Easy access to the Mary River if you would like a spot of fishing, swimming or kayaking. Keep your eye out for the platypus and Mary River Turtles. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. Great atmosphere and meals "tell them we sent you". Gundy Getaway is the perfect place to get back to basics and enjoy the peace and serenity.

Bundaberg has attractions such as the Bundy Rum Distillery, Ginger Beer Factory, a free zoo, Mon Repos Turtle Centre, lower Great Barrier Reef cruises to Lady Musgrave Island for snorkelling, great beaches some with 4WD access. Gin Gin is on the main highway to head north or south. Easy access from here to National Parks for walks and 4WDing. Being a hobby farm we have sheep which get fed every afternoon between 4 and 5. There are also chickens that free range around the campsite. Swimming pool available on request and children MUST be supervised.

Arrive between midday and 2pm if possible so you can set up your camp. Don't forget to bring your insect repellent as you are in the bush and beside the river. Buxton Bush Retreat

Buxton Bush Retreat is a privately owned parcel of 17 acres located 7 kilometers (6 minute drive) from the quaint seaside village of Buxton. The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash). The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland. There are eight(8) well maintained, large, flat camping areas and each has its own fire pit. An initial supply of firewood will be provided. There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for "fully self contained" motor homes and caravans. Apart from humans, dogs and cats, the property is inhabited by kangaroos and a variety of birdlife. The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. They also serve up meals every Wednesday. Buxton has a great little boat ramp on the Isis River which provides easy access for river fishing or to the Coral Sea for ocean fishing. So, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable QUIET and relaxing campsite with not too many people around then Buxton Bush Retreat many be just the place for you. No 'midges' or sand flies or dirt/sand camping sites .... all sites are flat and fully grassed and maintained.

Other beaches close by are Miara, Norval Park and further away are Winfield, Baffle creek and the iconic Agnes Waters and 1770. All great spots to fish or crab. The Avondale Pub is 1km away with great meals and drinks, and the Bucca Pub is 10 minutes away with weekend entertainment. Jo's road house is just up the road and has all the essentials food wise with great pizzas, and fuel. Next to Jo's is an RACQ centre and mechanics. All this at your fingertips or just kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet in amongst the large gum trees and native lemon scented gums. Please note: no late arrivals after 6pm please.

A small fishing village, Burrum Heads is popular with those looking for a camping destination in tranquil surroundings, yet only 20 minutes to the shops and amenities at Hervey Bay. Known as a fishing destination, it also provides opportunities for wildlife viewing, including turtles and dugongs, as well as for migrating humpback whales who pass by here every July through November. Swimming, fishing and camping spots exist along Lake Lenthall and along the Burrum River, as well as beachfront caravan parks. Expect basic facilities like boat ramps, barbecues, camp kitchens, and picnic areas—and if you look slightly further afield (for instance, at nearby Howard, Woodgate or Torbanlea), you'll find more waterfront sites, including along the river. Those looking for more off-the-beaten track sites will find them at privately owned caravan parks located in the surrounding bush and on farmstays.
