Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of sites- either Lower Sites close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property or Elevated Sites with views of the valley. LOWER SITES have access to facilities- toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. These are the only sites that caravans can access. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. When submitting a booking request, select either a Lower Site or Elevated Site. Please include your vehicle make and model, camping setup (tent/swag/camper trailer), type of toilet and ensuite tent (if requesting an elevated site) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs). Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant. We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top. What a fantastic spot to camp, the playground for the kids was fantastic and kept them entertained for hours. The grounds we well kept and each site was quite private so you felt like you had heaps of room. It was a very short drive to swimming holes or the lake which was great to cool off. Certainly a 10/10 from us and the kids are already asking when we are going back so I’ll definitely be booking it in again!!

This was such a lovely camping trip! We stayed at the Veginn camp site which was a perfect size for 2 of us and our 1 year old. Our bub absolutely loved his first time camping and the bush walks around the area. Bribie Island was just a short drive away and we had a beautiful day trip there. We would definitely camp here again!

What a great spot to park my campervan for a few nights! We were positioned looking out to the water, super close for swimming access. We were able to purchase fire wood and have a little fire. It was super quiet and plenty of room for everyone as there are various campsites but all set away from each other. I loved it and will definitely be back again!

We selected a site at the top end of the lake... it was so incredibly peaceful as we had the entire area to ourselves. The amenities in the main camping area were beautifully clean. The lake was amazing to swim and cool down in at the main camping area, unfortunately a little too weedy for swimming up the end where we were.... but it was a lovely walk down to take a dip.
