Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in.
The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type.
Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you.

The facilities are well maintained, the camping set-up let's you have shade, and keeps a large space in the oval for games and kids to run around. Absolutely loved our stay at Possum Bush Retreat. Planned for two nights—stayed for three. The sites were well maintained, Sharni and the boys had firewood ready for all campsites prior to us turning up.
Zip-lining into the dam was so much fun. Animals were friendly, views were stunning especially at sunset. Just an overall amazing experience.
We will definitely be revisiting for another great weekend getaway.

I just got back from a long weekend here and I’m still buzzing. If you’re looking for a spot to unwind and totally reset, this is it! I left feeling 100% recharged.
The Vibe: The layout is spot on. There is heaps of space between the sites, so you get all the privacy you could ever want. The views of the hills are stunning, and waking up to the local birds in the trees was a massive highlight.
For the Pups 🐾: My dog had the best time! We spent time exploring the site and wandering along the riverbanks. It’s a total playground for furry friends.
The Terrain: Don't let a bit of rain scare you off. It poured right after I set up, but the ground stayed super firm and dried out fast. Access is a breeze—even after a downpour, a 4x4 would have no issues at all.
The Host: Glen is a legend! He was so helpful from the moment I booked until the moment I left. If you’re on the fence or have questions, just shoot him a message—he’s super approachable and great to deal with.

I camped down in a quiet wooded area to escape the rat race for a couple of days. There were tons of kangaroos and pademelons in the paddock nearby, and the bird life was amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the facilities were spotless. It was great having use of the kitchen especially when it rained.
I felt like I had access to everything I needed.

This was a nice place to get away and relax. The camping area was nicely green & covered with grass. The walk down to the river for a swim was easy and well worth it - the water was lovely. It was very peaceful for a get away. There is no mobile phone coverage so it was great to be really away! The portable toilet on site was a nice touch. We didn’t build a fire but you can. We will visit again.

The caretakers were lively and very accommodating, showing us around the site. This is an extremely beautiful location. Anyone looking for a closeup experience either kangaroos will love it! In the evening kangaroos can be found lounging around the campsite.
The toilet block is meticulously clean and the hot showers were great.
The only caution when booking is that the sites are quite close together. Probably only 20 meters apart. However, the groups on each side were very respectful and no one bothered each other.
And don’t cover that if you’re there on a Friday and Saturday that the “Village Green” is open for pizza’s! As good as can be found anywhere!

Weekend Trip to Maison de lavande Farmstay
This farm stay was the perfect escape for a night! The animals are all so friendly, and a nice surprise at the back door when waking up in the morning. The cabin had everything we needed with very comfortable beds, and we were lucky to have a beautiful sunset while sitting by the fire. Can't wait to come back!

We had a great Stay at Jimna Base Camp. Took my 8 year old boy camping and we both had the best time - mountain biking, kayaking, swimming, tennis and basketball. Great Spot and Great Facilities.
