The property is situated in an elevated spot, 5km north of the popular federation town of Tenterfield.
We have 3 camp sites to choose from depending on your needs, with plenty of space in between to allow you to have a peaceful and relaxing stay. One booking per site allowed so you have the entire area to yourself (and your camp pals) and you are not tripping over the next campers tent pegs.
Branch Creek forms the southern boundary of the property while Tenterfield Creek is the western boundary. The property has a number of granite ridges.
There are many popular wineries in the region, while Tenterfield has some great cafes and pubs, excellent shopping and is home to the Tenterfield saddler. For nature lovers and bushwalkers, Boonoo Boonoo and Bald Rock National Parks are a short drive up Mt Lindesay Road.
Camping areas are accessible by a normal sedan type vehicle. We want our property to provide a peaceful retreat for those using it: - no hunting, motorbikes or 4WDing permitted.
We are an off grid location so campers will need to bring their own shower/toilet/water and take all rubbish out when leaving.

We are a ten minute drive from Girraween National park, a popular haunt for hikers and bird and nature lovers in general.
Ballandean winery and the Ballandean pub is also close, it serves affordable and wholesome dinners and there is a shop and a cafe as well as a restaurant there.
The town of Jennings is a small, quirky town close to the border, with a population of about 150.
Jennings is in two time zones, both QLD and NSW!
There are many popular wineries in the region, three of which have wonderful restaurant meals.
13 minutes drive going south, is the much-loved federation town of Tenterfield - with appealing cafes, clothes shops, country outfitters, the famous Tenterfield Saddlery and a cinema which seats about 50, a railway museum, a stylish yet friendly Commercial Hotel for eating out and a historic café where federation was called into being by Henry Parkes. There are occasional Saturday morning markets too. A fun place to hang out!
No motorbikes or hunting please. This land is for wildlife and supports wallabies, kangaroos and a variety of birds.
On walks around the property you can spot various delicate purple, white, yellow and rust coloured flowers.

Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others.
For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done.
Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided.
Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart.
As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans.
If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction.

Bajimba Eco Camp is part of our stunning family property nestled in the surrounds of Mt Bajimba in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, 40 minutes south east of Tenterfield.
Historically known as a resting point for bullock teams hauling timber from the surrounding forests on their way to a saw mill in the lower valley, Bajimba is now home to Merv & Carey. We are just over 1080 metres above sea level, with 57 acres of eucalypt & grass tree forests, grass pastures, and a small (but mighty) organic farm.
Accommodation options include "West View “situated at our highest elevation with incredible views from the deck, and "Bullock Camp" which can accommodate tents, caravans or motor homes.
When making travel arrangements, note we are in NSW and therefore are 1 hour ahead of QLD during day light savings months. It is encouraged if possible that guests arrive before 6pm to ensure a smooth and stress free check in to camp. Being able to experience the sunset is all a part of your Bajimba stay!
Amenities for both sites include an ablution block with hot shower and composting toilet, with steam sauna and wood-fired hot tub available by appointment. Please call at time of booking if hot tub and sauna facilities are required (especially for same-days bookings). Wood fired hot tubs require four hours to heat appropriately. Also note that all toiletries are provided to ensure that our critical farm ecosystem is maintained.
When staying at “West View”, we supply Tea, Coffee, Muesli, Full Cream Milk, fresh Eggs from our Hens, Salt & Pepper, Olive Oil, Cast Iron cook ware and a portable sink for cleaning Utensils etc. Also supplied are Plates, Knives & Forks etc. Portable Gas Cooker also supplied if not using the Fire Pit.

"Mckenzie Glen" and offers a private camping experience for families and their dogs. The camp allows for self contained tent campers and caravans, camp trailers or RVs. We only allow 1 group at a time, so there will never be any other guests on the property whilst you are there. So once it is booked, the place is entirely yours. For example, if 3 families would like trip away with the kids, it will be exclusive to your group.
There is a plentiful supply of firewood around the block that can be collected, if there isn't a load already near the fire. A load of wood is normally replenished once a month and left next to the firepit.
There is very limited mobile phone reception along Eukey Road and it is almost non-existent at the camp. Which is great if you want a digital detox! However, there is a way you can still be connected and these details can be provided upon request.
There is no toilet... yet. We do sometimes dig a drop toilet but this is not available all the time and it moves frequently.
There is a small post hole digger with a bottomless bucket toilet (more affectionately called "Chainsaw")
set that you can dig a hole for a toilet and a cage that gives some privacy (see the photos).
But please make sure you fill it in with your finished and all the toilet paper is buried at least a foot under the ground.
It gets it name from the rodeo bull "Chainsaw" because if you dig the hole too wide and can last 8 seconds on the seat, you're a legend!
SO good tip for campers if you want to use it.
A favourite thing to do at the camp is to have sundowners on what we call the "Zen Rock". It is a large rock formation about 100m the east of the camp. You can't miss it. There is an incredible amount of bird life around and a family of magpies live in trees just near the camp kitchen (they are friendly). You will often be woken by the Kookaburras and see the gorgeous Rosella's cruising around picking at grass seed.
McKenzie Glen provides a swag deck that is large enough for 2 double swags side by side. There is a fully fitted camp kitchen which includes a gas stove. Our point of difference is that for a family who can’t afford all the kitchen camping equipment etc - you will have 'most' of the luxury's of home. You will need an esky for your food and drinks. There is no power, however the kitchen has a small fixed
12 volt system that will run the small pump for the kitchen and the lights. You'll see the switches.
There may also be some cattle on the property, they are agisted by my lovely neighbours. They are usually weaners or cows and calves.
McKenzie Glen -
Granite & Eucalypt Camp is a stones throw of the Girraween National Park, a number of Granite Belt wineries and it is not too far down the road is Storm King Dam where (now that its full) is great for fishing and kayaking and boating.
The area used to be mined for Tin. Keep any eye out for lumps of granite rocks on the ground and if your lucky enough you might find some with flicks of tin. If you hold the rock up to the light you can see the fecks shine in the light.
If you are a coffee lover like me, there is St. Jude's Cafe down the road on the New England Highway at Ballandean. I highly recommend popping over to Ballandean Estate Wines on Sundowner Road, they've been making wine since 1932. The smell of the food coming from their Barrel Room Restaurant will draw you in even if you're not hungry (you can book a table on line so you don't miss out). And if you like a good country pub meal and a cold beer, then the Ballandean Tavern is the go. Both St. Judes and the Ballandean Tavern are only 8.8km from the camp.
To the North of the camp, this bushland is a declared bushfire zone.
To stay aware of radio broadcasts, the local ABC channels are 104.9 (ABC radio) 103.3 (Triple J).

The Timbarra or Rocky River is an area
of great beauty
southeast of Tenterfield with soaring mountains cradling the river flats and undulating hills below and
is a renowned cattle breeding region.
The Petrie family have been in Tenterfield since 1860 and have owned
properties
in the valley for over 100 years.
Tim’s great-grandfather was known as Rocky Jack because of his extensive holdings.
Cattle are still walked up to the Timbarra Plateau property from the river properties
‘Man From Snowy River’ style.
The Plateau can be seen rising above the valley to the north from the confluence of Demon Creek and the Timbarra/Rocky River.
These flow along the Demon Fault which is clearly visible on a satellite map.
The 3 valley properties ‘Corner Camp’, ‘Boundary’ and ‘’Pavels’ combined with ‘Timbarra Plateau’ total over 25000 acres.
The whole valley was part of 2 earlier large selections averaging 100000 acres
which gradually became broken up in the late 1800s/early 1990s. There is a proud timber history in the valley and the surrounding forested mountains with large sections of State Forest now transferred to
Washpool National Park which abuts both the eastern and western boundaries of ‘Boundary’ (which takes its name from Boundary Creek).
The National Park and Forestland State Forest can be accessed to the west via the Billirimba Fire Trail.
The eastern section of Washpool
stretches across to the Clarence River, the largest eastern river in NSW. Washpool
is where the Cedar King went missing and was never located.
The Timbarra/Rocky River flows into the Clarence at Tabulam and then on to Grafton and out to sea at Yamba. The headwaters of the Rocky are all the way south to the Glen Innes Grafton road so the river can rise quickly if there is a downpour upstream.
Interestingly when
the Chinese gold
miners left the Timbarra Plateau they came down with rickshaws into the Timbarra Valley then scaled the mountains to the west, near Boundary Creek, looking for their next gold diggings towards Glen Innes. The Boundary campsites at Boundary Riverside, The Cockatoo, The China Wall, and the Caves are all suitable for caravans, RVs, Camping trailers, tents and swags as is Timbarra Plateau.
Corner Camp and Pavels are suitable for camping trailers, tents and swags.
Boundary campsites access are all unaffected if the river rises however we will not take bookings at Corner Camp or Pavels in the likelihood of the river rising as we are committed to safety and avoiding inconvenience for guests.
The Rocky is a very special place and we have campers who first came as children and are now bringing their grandchildren.
We expect our guests to treat the area respectfully, and only leave footprints and tyre tracks.

valley provides wonderful scenery and settings for bushwalking, birdwatching, photography, painting, bicycle riding,
swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding
and canoeing,
or just kicking back
relaxing by the river, listening to the soothing sounds of the water, birds, and the turtles and platypus splashing,
or being amazed at the mirror like images on the waters surface on a still day or the flickering light of a campfire at night and the stars above.

Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty.
Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s.
You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky.
Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-)
Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down.
BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended.
ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character.
The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers.

We have 3 camp sites to choose from depending on your needs, with plenty of space in between to allow you to have a peaceful and relaxing stay. One booking per site allowed so you have the entire area to yourself (and your camp pals) and you are not tripping over the next campers tent pegs.
Branch Creek forms the southern boundary of the property while Tenterfield Creek is the western boundary. The property has a number of granite ridges.
There are many popular wineries in the region, while Tenterfield has some great cafes and pubs, excellent shopping and is home to the Tenterfield saddler. For nature lovers and bushwalkers, Boonoo Boonoo and Bald Rock National Parks are a short drive up Mt Lindesay Road.
Camping areas are accessible by a normal sedan type vehicle. We want our property to provide a peaceful retreat for those using it: - no hunting, motorbikes or 4WDing permitted.
We are an off grid location so campers will need to bring their own shower/toilet/water and take all rubbish out when leaving.

The property is in an an elevated spot, it has lovely views and great places to camp and there's a lovely yielding atmosphere of peace and tranquility. There are accessible walking trails through the property with several areas of slightly sloping ground.
We are a ten minute drive from Girraween National park, a popular haunt for hikers and bird and nature lovers in general.
Ballandean winery and the Ballandean pub is also close, it serves affordable and wholesome dinners and there is a shop and a cafe as well as a restaurant there.
The town of Jennings is a small, quirky town close to the border, with a population of about 150.
Jennings is in two time zones, both QLD and NSW!
There are many popular wineries in the region, three of which have wonderful restaurant meals.
13 minutes drive going south, is the much-loved federation town of Tenterfield - with appealing cafes, clothes shops, country outfitters, the famous Tenterfield Saddlery and a cinema which seats about 50, a railway museum, a stylish yet friendly Commercial Hotel for eating out and a historic café where federation was called into being by Henry Parkes. There are occasional Saturday morning markets too. A fun place to hang out!
No motorbikes or hunting please. This land is for wildlife and supports wallabies, kangaroos and a variety of birds.
On walks around the property you can spot various delicate purple, white, yellow and rust coloured flowers.

Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others.
For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done.
Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided.
Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart.
As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans.
If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction.

Bajimba Eco Camp is part of our stunning family property nestled in the surrounds of Mt Bajimba in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, 40 minutes south east of Tenterfield.
Historically known as a resting point for bullock teams hauling timber from the surrounding forests on their way to a saw mill in the lower valley, Bajimba is now home to Merv & Carey. We are just over 1080 metres above sea level, with 57 acres of eucalypt & grass tree forests, grass pastures, and a small (but mighty) organic farm.
Accommodation options include "West View “situated at our highest elevation with incredible views from the deck, and "Bullock Camp" which can accommodate tents, caravans or motor homes.
When making travel arrangements, note we are in NSW and therefore are 1 hour ahead of QLD during day light savings months. It is encouraged if possible that guests arrive before 6pm to ensure a smooth and stress free check in to camp. Being able to experience the sunset is all a part of your Bajimba stay!
Amenities for both sites include an ablution block with hot shower and composting toilet, with steam sauna and wood-fired hot tub available by appointment. Please call at time of booking if hot tub and sauna facilities are required (especially for same-days bookings). Wood fired hot tubs require four hours to heat appropriately. Also note that all toiletries are provided to ensure that our critical farm ecosystem is maintained.
When staying at “West View”, we supply Tea, Coffee, Muesli, Full Cream Milk, fresh Eggs from our Hens, Salt & Pepper, Olive Oil, Cast Iron cook ware and a portable sink for cleaning Utensils etc. Also supplied are Plates, Knives & Forks etc. Portable Gas Cooker also supplied if not using the Fire Pit.

"Mckenzie Glen" and offers a private camping experience for families and their dogs. The camp allows for self contained tent campers and caravans, camp trailers or RVs. We only allow 1 group at a time, so there will never be any other guests on the property whilst you are there. So once it is booked, the place is entirely yours. For example, if 3 families would like trip away with the kids, it will be exclusive to your group.
There is a plentiful supply of firewood around the block that can be collected, if there isn't a load already near the fire. A load of wood is normally replenished once a month and left next to the firepit.
There is very limited mobile phone reception along Eukey Road and it is almost non-existent at the camp. Which is great if you want a digital detox! However, there is a way you can still be connected and these details can be provided upon request.
There is no toilet... yet. We do sometimes dig a drop toilet but this is not available all the time and it moves frequently.
There is a small post hole digger with a bottomless bucket toilet (more affectionately called "Chainsaw")
set that you can dig a hole for a toilet and a cage that gives some privacy (see the photos).
But please make sure you fill it in with your finished and all the toilet paper is buried at least a foot under the ground.
It gets it name from the rodeo bull "Chainsaw" because if you dig the hole too wide and can last 8 seconds on the seat, you're a legend!
SO good tip for campers if you want to use it.
A favourite thing to do at the camp is to have sundowners on what we call the "Zen Rock". It is a large rock formation about 100m the east of the camp. You can't miss it. There is an incredible amount of bird life around and a family of magpies live in trees just near the camp kitchen (they are friendly). You will often be woken by the Kookaburras and see the gorgeous Rosella's cruising around picking at grass seed.
McKenzie Glen provides a swag deck that is large enough for 2 double swags side by side. There is a fully fitted camp kitchen which includes a gas stove. Our point of difference is that for a family who can’t afford all the kitchen camping equipment etc - you will have 'most' of the luxury's of home. You will need an esky for your food and drinks. There is no power, however the kitchen has a small fixed
12 volt system that will run the small pump for the kitchen and the lights. You'll see the switches.
There may also be some cattle on the property, they are agisted by my lovely neighbours. They are usually weaners or cows and calves.
McKenzie Glen -
Granite & Eucalypt Camp is a stones throw of the Girraween National Park, a number of Granite Belt wineries and it is not too far down the road is Storm King Dam where (now that its full) is great for fishing and kayaking and boating.
The area used to be mined for Tin. Keep any eye out for lumps of granite rocks on the ground and if your lucky enough you might find some with flicks of tin. If you hold the rock up to the light you can see the fecks shine in the light.
If you are a coffee lover like me, there is St. Jude's Cafe down the road on the New England Highway at Ballandean. I highly recommend popping over to Ballandean Estate Wines on Sundowner Road, they've been making wine since 1932. The smell of the food coming from their Barrel Room Restaurant will draw you in even if you're not hungry (you can book a table on line so you don't miss out). And if you like a good country pub meal and a cold beer, then the Ballandean Tavern is the go. Both St. Judes and the Ballandean Tavern are only 8.8km from the camp.
To the North of the camp, this bushland is a declared bushfire zone.
To stay aware of radio broadcasts, the local ABC channels are 104.9 (ABC radio) 103.3 (Triple J).

The Timbarra or Rocky River is an area
of great beauty
southeast of Tenterfield with soaring mountains cradling the river flats and undulating hills below and
is a renowned cattle breeding region.
The Petrie family have been in Tenterfield since 1860 and have owned
properties
in the valley for over 100 years.
Tim’s great-grandfather was known as Rocky Jack because of his extensive holdings.
Cattle are still walked up to the Timbarra Plateau property from the river properties
‘Man From Snowy River’ style.
The Plateau can be seen rising above the valley to the north from the confluence of Demon Creek and the Timbarra/Rocky River.
These flow along the Demon Fault which is clearly visible on a satellite map.
The 3 valley properties ‘Corner Camp’, ‘Boundary’ and ‘’Pavels’ combined with ‘Timbarra Plateau’ total over 25000 acres.
The whole valley was part of 2 earlier large selections averaging 100000 acres
which gradually became broken up in the late 1800s/early 1990s. There is a proud timber history in the valley and the surrounding forested mountains with large sections of State Forest now transferred to
Washpool National Park which abuts both the eastern and western boundaries of ‘Boundary’ (which takes its name from Boundary Creek).
The National Park and Forestland State Forest can be accessed to the west via the Billirimba Fire Trail.
The eastern section of Washpool
stretches across to the Clarence River, the largest eastern river in NSW. Washpool
is where the Cedar King went missing and was never located.
The Timbarra/Rocky River flows into the Clarence at Tabulam and then on to Grafton and out to sea at Yamba. The headwaters of the Rocky are all the way south to the Glen Innes Grafton road so the river can rise quickly if there is a downpour upstream.
Interestingly when
the Chinese gold
miners left the Timbarra Plateau they came down with rickshaws into the Timbarra Valley then scaled the mountains to the west, near Boundary Creek, looking for their next gold diggings towards Glen Innes. The Boundary campsites at Boundary Riverside, The Cockatoo, The China Wall, and the Caves are all suitable for caravans, RVs, Camping trailers, tents and swags as is Timbarra Plateau.
Corner Camp and Pavels are suitable for camping trailers, tents and swags.
Boundary campsites access are all unaffected if the river rises however we will not take bookings at Corner Camp or Pavels in the likelihood of the river rising as we are committed to safety and avoiding inconvenience for guests.
The Rocky is a very special place and we have campers who first came as children and are now bringing their grandchildren.
We expect our guests to treat the area respectfully, and only leave footprints and tyre tracks.
The
valley provides wonderful scenery and settings for bushwalking, birdwatching, photography, painting, bicycle riding,
swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding
and canoeing,
or just kicking back
relaxing by the river, listening to the soothing sounds of the water, birds, and the turtles and platypus splashing,

Multiple campsites and cabins available on a beautiful winery located on the bicycle track at Glen Aplin, a short distance from Stanthorpe, Ballandean and the picturesque Girraween National Park.
On site you will find an amenity block consisting of two toilets and two showers as well as a disabled shower/toilet combined. Two outdoor BBQ's and a wooodfired pizza oven are available for guests to use. A limited range of pushbikes and E bikes are available to hire, just enquire at the cellar door.
Located only moments away from Girraween National Park- plenty of hikes available and with a range of difficulties, each view will take your breath away.
With many wineries on the same track, we are in a perfect location for anyone who wishes to join a tour, or even just do the one or two nearby.
Come watch the wildlife, whilst sipping on a glass of the ‘bloody good red’ - or whatever you fancy.
Water station is on Mackenzie Street in Stanthorpe for those needing to fill their tanks with potable water. No water available for filling tanks on site.

Located approximately 4.5hours from Brisbane, Queensland, or 1.5 hour drive west of Tenterfield, New South Wales. Binghi Station, once a large sheep station, was a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800 to mid 1900.
Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty.
Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s.
You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky.
Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-)
Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down.
BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended.
ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character.
The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers.

This place was absolutely awesome!
Plenty of space and beds for 2 Adults and 3 kids.
We had great time having a splash in the creek and exploring the property.
The Shed had all the cooking equipment we needed, power, fridge, hot shower, flushing outside toilet that was in great condition (no creepy crawlers to be seen).
I highly recommend purchasing your firewood directly with you booking. For $20 we had heaps of firewood to last us the two nights we stayed.
The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely be back and recommend you check this place out if you want a farm stay with some enjoyable comforts.

We were a last-minute booking and arrived later than expected, but Andrew was very patient and easygoing. Andrew and his partner were both kind and relaxed — we didn’t see her much, but the interactions we had were lovely.
Our site was near the dam. Because of the rain we didn’t get to swim, but the site was spacious and well away from other campers. We could see the house in the distance, though it still felt like we had the place to ourselves. Andrew let us know that if the rain became too much and our tent flooded, he’d help us move things — though the site handled it well and it would’ve needed a lot more rain for that to happen.
We stayed 4 nights and were able to use our generator on quiet mode without disturbing anyone, as we were positioned far enough away from others.
We had our own gazebo to spend the days in, though one was available to hire if needed. Fresh drinking water was available. On the last sunny day we fed the goats — the kids (16 & 10) loved it. Some were very food-orientated, some shy, and some happy for pats.
Shops are only 10 minutes away with most essentials, food options, and a dump point.
There’s a decent-sized fireplace, which we kept going even during light to moderate rain. The night before we left the sky cleared and the Milky Way was visible — so many stars, it was beautiful.
Even though it mostly rained during our stay, our family loved it and will definitely come back.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guffy Acres Farm. The campsites were clean and well spaced, making you feel as though you had your own private piece of countryside to relax and admire.
Andrew, the owner, was extremely responsive to messages and very accommodating throughout our stay. While we were there, they had recently hatched some chicks, which he kindly showed to our two young children. Feeding the goats was definitely one of the highlights — they are incredibly friendly, and even my three year old felt confident feeding them through the fence.
We wish Andrew and his partner all the best and will certainly be returning when we have the opportunity.

Adrian and oretai were the most amazing hosts. We had an amazing time in an absolutely beautiful setting. We booked the hot tub on the beach which was a great addition to our holiday. Oretai cooked us an amazing Thai dinner and delivered it to us at our campsite which is incredible considering how remote the camp is. There is no phone reception or wifi at the camp which makes it easy to switch off and forget the troubles of the outside world. We will return again and would highly recommend the gorge to anyone who wants to switch off for a couple of days. Even though there is no phone reception, there is still peace of mind as they monitor Chanel 34 so highly recommended taking along an uhf radio. 5 stars. We will be back

We very much enjoyed our stay at Montview winery, the camping was peaceful overlooking the vines and we were lucky enough to see kangaroos. We’d opted to stay here because it’s situated along the beautiful Stanthorpe to Ballandean bike trail, an added bonus was the wine tasting! Showers and toilet block as well. We’ll be back to cycle on the trail in the opposite direction!

We have left on our working trip around Australia in November, we are from a rural FNQ town and since leaving we have struggled to find many remote camping spots like we have at home.
We stumbled across Binghi station last minute and decided to book and glad we did because it’s the best Hip camp we have had since starting our trip.
It’s a beautiful remote station, with beautiful swimming spots, we were the only campers on the station (mid week) and Adrian and his family were super lovely, nothing was a hassle and it was laid back.
We towed our 22ft off road caravan and had no issues and didn’t find the drive in too rough, although we have taken our caravan to some gnarly areas.
We will try and get back and camp at the gorge next time with some friends and our swags. Also bonus point for being pet friendly, which seems rare around NSW, our dog is use to being around cattle, so was fine around the sheep. Thank you Adrian and family for hosting us 😊
