Weekend Trip to Mandalong Manor

We had a great time camping here with a groups of 5 and 3 dogs. Jim is super friendly and welcoming, and even helped us get some firewood when we were running low. The dogs had the time of their lives being able to free roam. The campsite is very spacious and we didn't have any line of sight of other campers. Some of the ground was soggy because of the amount of rain that had fallen before, but we still managed to get through in our 2WD. The toilet was clean and functional. Overall I would definitely recommend this place and we'll probably come again. Thanks Jim!

Lovely, peaceful spot, enjoyed our time there! We saw a deer and kangaroos in the fields nearby. Jim was very helpful.

Easy to get to, and great for first time or more seasoned campers. Gremlin Grove is closest to Jim’s house and the pool, and approximately 50 metres from the next campsite. It’s quite pretty and there’s plenty of space - we had 2 tents and could have easily accommodated another 4. If you want total privacy then you’ll need to book Goblin Glen, Gremlin Grove and the other campsites are less private but well spaced out. If you want to go exploring or for a bush walk you’ll need to jump in the car to do this.

Goblins Glen is relaxing, entirely private and feels like you're a million miles from anywhere yet if ya fancy a KFC it only 10 minutes away 😁 Had the place to ourselves, spacious enough to bring 10 other mates also!

Great spot, Jim was welcoming and checked in with us whether we needed more water, cans removed. Great location just minutes to great 4x4 tracks, if that's your thing. Patchy service, so if you're looking for peace and quiet, this is perfect. Campers were nearby but certainly not close, which was great. Being dog friendly was excellent!

Spacious and clean set up. Having the toilet was fantastic. Jim was helpful and courteous. Enjoyed our relaxing stay.

We enjoyed our stay here at Valhalla! We wished we stayed for another night on Kim’s place. Valhalla was clean and the drop toilet was well kept and tidy when we arrived. Set a high standard to our [first time camper] friends. Host was nice and friendly.

Fantastic views! The campsite was just as described. Toilet was so good for a drop toilet. Kept very clean and didnt smell at all. It was also an easy spot to take our 7month old puppy. Communication with the host was very easy. The only downside was that the site is pretty close to a road where cars pass by at about 100km/hr, so the serene silence of the valley was unfortunately disturbed intermittently by car noise. We were there Easter long weekend so the road might not be so busy at other times. Overall a great stay for us and our pup!

Very relaxing, loads of firewood and fantastic under cover area in case it rains. Had a wonderful stay.

A beautiful spot, such a relaxing getaway for myself, my two boys and our kelpie. Super convenient toilet facilities and loved the extra touch to be able to purchase basic items that you may forget! Being able to purchase firewood which was delivered to the site was handy too. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a wonderful time at this campsite. The host welcomed us with warmth and great energy. The place felt cozy and inviting, and the café she runs is absolutely lovely! Great little hideaway. Clean facilities. Firewood ready to go for us. We took our caravan but i wouldn't suggest any bigger than 26ft van would fit there. Great bush walks on the property. Wish I could of stayed longer.

Very pleasant experience. The place where the camp was situated, near the damn, was straight out of a story book. Quiet, relaxed, firewood provided, secluded and perfect for a tech free escape. Cath was a generous host and also helped me out by charging my lithium batteries which ran out of juice. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

Great private location. Close to the road but not much traffic. Kim was great delivering us fire wood. Other great amenities available for purchase in the bathroom if you’ve forgotten any essentials. Thanks for having us!

At Wildwoods you'll find 330 acres of natural bushland and a small amount of cleared farmland/paddocks with incredible views in every direction. Endless gullies, mountains, forests, cliffs, and caves to explore on the property or on the crown land adjoining. An amazing amount of wildlife - Birds, wombats, kangaroos of all kinds (wallaby, wallaroo, eastern greys etc), goannas, echidnas, turtles, ducks just to name a few. There are also plenty of roads to ride and explore via mountain bike or foot. The road in is a little rough, and there is only a small amount of levelled land. But it is still an amazing spot, where nature does all the hard work, and I would love to share it with people. This is the perfect place for those who want to be in total peace and quiet, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Each campsite is private, where by you're the only camper able to book the site. Some are more private than others - Read each description for details. *Please note* access to the property is via Megalong Road - a narrow windy road, the only road in and out of Megalong Valley. Google maps can sometimes show options through Kanimbla Valley - This is not possible. Ensure you come in via Megalong Road.

CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance. Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ 1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times. 2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. The property is just 7kms from the M1 motorway (take the Morisset exit off the M1) and Morisset just 10kms away with shops and fuel. There is plenty to do in the Morisset area including visiting the pretty Gap Creek Falls in the Watagans National Park or kayaking around beautiful Lake Macquarie, Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lake. There are some great areas for hiking, bike riding, bird watching and more. Set on the western foreshore of Lake Macquarie, which has the bush in its backyard. Find a patch of shade for a picnic in Lake Macquarie State Conservation Area where you can spot kangaroos and other wildlife.
