What a beautiful place to have such a nice time away with the fam. The bathrooms were clean with plenty of soap and toilet paper. The fire wood for purchase was really handy. And the river was so clean and refreshing. There was spotty phone reception which was just enough to stay connected but not enough to doom scroll and that tbh, was perfect. We had a great time & our labradoor had fun too. Yara is also very responsive and lovely :)

Whispering Gums is not too far out of Sydney. The location is ideal with the cool, crystal clear Colo river gurgling past. The camp is spotlessly clean, the sites large, the showers and toilets spacious and clean. We will be back.
Great spot for adults and kids. The amenities are top notch as advertised.

This property is fantastic for camping near the Colo river. Lots of gorgeous green grass and fire pits ant each camp site and a little walk down the embankment to the river. Stunning river location Amenities 👏👏 toilets and 2 hot water showers Yara so easy to deal with and prompt with her reply Great weekend. We will be back 👏👏🙏

We had a great weekend away at Whispering Gums. The weather really heated up and was amazing having the river right next to you.
Highly recommend to anyone looking to get away, relax and unwind amongst all the nature and wildlife. Look forward to our next visit

Whispering Gums Colo River Camping
We had the BEST little getaway at Whispering Gums Colo River! 🌿🏕️
So much space for our little one to run around and release his inner Olympic athlete 😂🏃♂️💨 We stayed right in the corner of the campsite, which gave us our own little private area AND our own campfire 🔥 basically camping, but with VIP seating. The campsite was nice and quiet, super private and surrounded by beautiful nature. The toilets and showers were actually CLEAN (campers, you know this deserves its own mention 😂).
And then there’s the Colo River down the hill, with stairs taking you straight down. The water was amazing shallow, clear and perfect for a little splash 💦🌊
Honestly, we loved it. Peaceful, spacious, clean and plenty of room for the little one to tire himself out so Mum and Dad could hopefully get some peace 😂

Whispering gums is a beautiful property. The sites were well spaced out and have their own fire pits, and the facilities were clean and well looked after. Lots of Kookaburras in the area and easy to get down to the river

We loved our stay! The campsite was well maintained with a designated fire pit. The toilet and shower facilities were clean and had hot water. My friends and I kayaked through Colo River and the views were beautiful. Yara was a fantastic host. Thank you for having us and we’ll definitely be back!

This is such a beautiful spot on the lovely clear Colo river with large grassy spaces under the trees. Even the drive in is beautiful!
We really enjoyed our time here. The amenities were clean and the showers hot. The river is wide and shallow with a sandy bottom, perfect for children to play in (though a bit cold in May). The area is leafy and surrounded by valley escarpments, bliss for nature lovers. Yara is a great host, she was very fast to respond to messages, and understanding and kind when we had a bit of a problem that she acted quickly to resolve.
I would recommend this camp spot to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, safe family trip.

Whispering Gums Colo River Camping
We had a lovely weekend here. The river is gorgeous, campsites are spacious, flat and grassy. Yara the host made us very welcome. We were camping with a trailer and friends with a tent.
Incredible camp spot, we have it to ourselves. The facilities were way better than expected. Clean, well set up, premium toilets and showers. Everything there that you could want including firewood. River down the bank was crystal clear, deep enough to get totally submerged and so refreshing. We are already booking our trip back. Host is a legend too!

The sandy river and grounds of Whispering Gums were perfect. We enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay and having access to the crystal clear river was beautifully refreshing. It was an expensive camp via Hipcamp but considering it was Easter and school holidays, we were thrilled to have our own little private idaho.
Thank you Yara for your hospitality and making your property available for campers, it truly was immaculate.

The river was beautiful. The grounds were fantastic. The water hot, the toilets cleaned every day and Yara was a delight. Definitely be back!

The camp area is cleared with a few trees for shade, level and just a beautiful bush escape... with the river right beside.
Amenities were clean and more the suitable.
There was almost 50 of us. We were not cramped up plenty of space. Shower and toilet facilities were kept clean. Yara dropped in each day to check if we and the other campers separate to us had enough water for showers. She is also very easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend Whispering Gums. 2.5 hours from Newcastle and an hour from Sydney. Great location I will definitely go back

We loved our visit to Whispering Gums. The campground was full but everyone was so friendly and respectful of each other. The site was peaceful and really beautiful. The location by the river was superb. We had lots of fun with our young kids splashing in the river. Yara was really responsive to all our question before our visit and went above and beyond checking in with us during our stay and even organised an Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids. It was a magical weekend and we can't wait to visit again. Thanks for having us Yara!

Beautiful spot right next to the river
Had everything we needed including hot showers, flushing toilets, bbq, firepit, amenities very clean and looked after
Will definitely camp here again!
Nice site with solid shower/bathroom amenities. Easy access to the river which is good fun. Yara is also a great host.

Whispering Gums Colo River Camping
We enjoyed Whispering Gums so much we came back a second time! The river water level was a bit higher than last time we were here, but we found a nice shallow area near the bridge that was perfect for small dogs and young kids to play. Yara was a great host and personally gave us the freshly laid eggs we purchased. The toilet and showers were upgraded since we were last here and were clean and well presented. Highly recommended and we will be back again!
Beautiful layout with loads of space, shade, and dog friendly. Basic facilities but all you need. No Optus coverage was a bonus, so refreshing to be fully disconnected!

Fantastic spot right on the river ! Loved our recent stay here
Facilities were great with clean and nicely looked after toilets and showers
Very quiet spot , we were def lucky that only 2 other spots were being used so very spacious and spread out
Level spots all along the river and no issues getting our van in . Great directions from host and easy to find
River wasn’t great to swim in , however that was due to recent heavy rains , could def see in parts on day we left just now nice it would be normally
Will def be back again
The property is fantastic. Right by the river. On-site toilet and shower is convenient. Not too bad a drive. Will be coming back.

Amazing location and facilities. Yara made us feel right at home. We loved camping so close to the river and as it was a bit cooler, made full use of the fire pit and firewood. The bathroom facilities were fantastic and although we visited on a quiet weekend, we got the impression that even when booked out, you’d never feel crowded or cramped.
Will definitely visit again!
