Absolutely awesome spot. Beautiful location and the host went above and beyond with the treasure map and local history lesson, made the whole experience heaps more interesting. You can tell a lot of effort and care has gone into the place. Top bloke and top site. 10/10.

Site 3 - C Colo - just beautiful

If you’re after a low-effort, high-reward camp spot C Colo Campsite is it. Super easy to find (no “are we lost?” chaos), and just a stone’s throw from the river 🌿💧 Biggest highlight? Steve. Absolute legend. Next-level hospitality, showing up with fresh brownies every night like some kind of campsite fairy godfather. Only downside: limited cellphone signal… but honestly, who needs coverage when you’re busy kayaking, chilling by the river, and actually switching off? Our pups enjoyed the morning walk along the river and the kids enjoyed kayaking! Simple, peaceful, and genuinely welcoming. Would 100% come back (yes, partly for the brownies 😌)

We had a great time camping at Danielle and Steve’s. The river was beautiful and had some great swimming spots. The site was quite busy - but we stayed over a long weekend so it’s understandable.

Peaceful camping

Me and my partner came for the night and loved it. It’s a lovely peaceful spot 1.5 hours drive from Sydney and just adjacent Colo river. The campsite has fire pits that guests can use for free. There is also wood available for 10$. 20 min drive and 25 walk there is a GORGEOUS lookout super easy to get to. But what has been amazing for us it’s the host welcoming manners. Stephen gave us a bit of history insight about Windsor and surroundings, came back a night with delicious brownies and offered his advice on how to canoeing the river the following morning. Very friendly guy! We will definitely be back :)

Site 4 - C Colo - just beautiful

We loved the space and location close to Sydney. The host was also amazing. At this site you have no mobile phone coverage so we thought there could have better instructions to access the site and better guidance to your site number. In the end we had the whole site to ourself so it did not matter. You should know that you are next to the Putty Road and Sat and Sun there are a million motorbikes using that road so don’t expect a quite early morning. The site also has a toilet as advertised but it is primitive at best. Don’t plan to use it!

I recently stayed at this campsite and had a fantastic experience. The host (Steve and Danielle) was incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to make sure everything was comfortable and stress-free. From the moment I arrived, they were warm, friendly, and always available to help with anything I needed. The campsite itself was well-maintained and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. What really stood out, though, was the host’s genuine hospitality—they truly care about their guests and it shows. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming and enjoyable camping experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Not what we expected

We had a group of 8 that stayed here and the pictures/map of the site is very misleading. The site is a small paddock right underneath a main road where 6 camp sites are stacked right on top of the other, only 5-10m away. Due to the proximity, noise kept us awake until 2am and then the other neighbours woke us up at 6am. The river is not visible at all, and not really accessible from the site, you can walk down the road to find the entrance to the water. Welcoming and social host, however interrupted our stay unnecessarily on a regular basis. On the final night he accused us of stealing his firewood quite aggressively (which he charges $10 for), however when he saw that we had brought a trailer full, he hardly apologised and brought us a gift in the morning instead, which felt like a small bribe for his behaviour the night before. Due to our neighbours and this incident, we did not have the weekend we planned on. I wouldn’t recommend this site.

Nice open camp sites. The grass was lovely. Exploring the river was so much fun. The host was amazing and helped with all the local activities. We also got some yummy brownies and a prize. Plus a history story.

It is such a hidden gem! The setting is peaceful and perfect for relaxing, with plenty of space to set up camp and enjoy nature. Steve, who helped us during our stay, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He even treated us to some of his amazing brownies, which were an absolute highlight. Definitely a place to unwind and enjoy great hospitality!

There was some good and bad, not sure if we would stay again. The campsite pictures were abit misleading and not as private as we hoped, it was so close to the road and the main gates were left open all day and night. During the day people walked off the street to enter the camp-site to walk to the creek entrance, they were not campers. Due to the close proximity to the road and the bridge the noise of cars were heard day and night, there was a really bright street light that lit up too much of our camp-site. Host was friendly and welcoming especially with the kids bringing over gifts and a turtle he found on the road to let the kids release the turtle into the water, that was a real treat. On the first night he brought around brownies it was so kind, but then he visited every night with more brownies at 9.30pm, this is too late for site visits and knowing we had kids dropping off brownies everyday seemed excessive, some others would definitely appreciate this but I felt this was unnecessary and encroaching on our privacy... The sites were not marked clearly no one knew which sites they were supposed to be at as others arrived after us, people were all seeking directions from each other.... Having the entrance to the creek nearby was really good as it was an easy short walk and deep enough to swim so that was lovely... overall it wasn't terrible but there were just a few things that would make me hesitant to recommend this place if youre a regular camper and like priv

Fig Tree Hill

We had a lovely time staying at Fig Tree Hill. Having our own private spot was wonderful and it was a pleasure to chat with the very friendly host Steve. The site is worth it just for the daily fresh brownie delivery. The site is close to the main road so there was some loud car noise but considering we were wandering distance to the river and close to beautiful state park walks we had nothing to complain about.

Camping here was brilliant. Easy access in both 2WD and AWD. We camper with an offroad trailer and had no issues having a flat spot and more than adequate space. The sites are distributed well across the property giving some privacy. The toilet was well maintained by Steve, along with firewood (if ordered) and any other tips about the area. Whilst the sites are not absolute river front, it's quick and easy access and the river is absolutely brilliant for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding etc.... a true relief from the heat and. Other freatures include fire drums and pizza oven. Yes the road is close by, however it isn't going to put us off from visiting again. We loved this camp, and the hosts who were fun, accommodating and they made the most delicious brownies for us!!! Thanks Steve and Dan for having us, we had a fab time and wish you all the best in 2026.
