The peace and tranquillity and spectacular scenery make this the ideal place to relax and unwind or the perfect spot to base yourself while you explore everything the Tweed Shire and the Northern Rivers Region has to offer.
On arrival you get to choose your own unpowered spot. You then set up camp. The caretaker will check you in at the spot you have chosen towards the end of the day.
Misty Mountain Campgrounds is suitable for tent campers, caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes..
PLEASE NOTE - Children aged between 3 and 15 are booked under Child Rates, Children 2 and under are Free and do not have to be booked in.

The property is just
5km from the beautiful village of Uki. Uki is a place where community spirit hums. Village markets every Saturday selling local foods and crafts. The Old buttery offers ‘the Uki Buttery Bazaar Market’ on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
Don’t forget to pop into the Uki Trading Post (Bastion Lane) for the Best coffee in Australia. The Mt Warning Hotel situated in Uki Village also offers all meals as takeaways and a complementary curtesy bus running from Friday 5PM through to Sunday. Stock up on supplies at the village General Store.
Pet welcome on leash and under control. Campfires are permitted within local regulations.
We do have a bathtub’s on four sites. Campers should leave no trace.

1. STRICTLY No Caravans, RV's, Tents or Any Camping site is to be set up within 50 meters of the creek.
2. No more that 20 people camping on the property at one time.
3. Zero impact to the land and surrounds treat it like you would a national park.
4. All waste must be bagged and taken off site with you. The rubbish bins in the street are not ours. They belong to the people that live in the valley. All rubbish must be taken home with you!

Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others.
For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done.
Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided.
Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart.
As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans.
If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction.

We are a dog-friendly park so the whole family is welcome. Dogs need to be controlled at all times and cleaned up after. No aggressive dogs please.
Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits only and may be subject to fire bans. Firewood and ice are available for purchase (cash preferred).
Recycling bins are provided, otherwise campers are required to take their rubbish with them. Wi-Fi and Telstra coverage are available.
Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away.
Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We can still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way, ignore Google maps if it directs you to Lynches Creek Rd.

Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase.

East Creswick Farm is a Tea Tree farm located halfway between Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads, with Mullumbimby just down the road. Very easily accessed, it includes large areas of flat paddock as well as secluded spots up on a hilled area surrounded by native and plantation trees.
We are just getting started and intend to improve the property over time. We hope the price and flexibility reflect the current state of the land, and we are always aiming to improve the amenities as we go.
The property is best described as central, easy, and affordable rather than pristine and tranquil. It is a working farm where you may see tractors from time to time, and while it is "rough around the edges," it is clean and functional. Please note that we border the highway, so depending on where you are on the property, there is some road noise. Except for during Blues Fest, there are no toilets on-site, so you will need to be fully self-sufficient.
During periods of heavy rain, the ground in some areas can become boggy, so we may need to limit space on the flat paddocks and have you stay up on the hill. Generally, the site is 2WD accessible. We aim to be super flexible, so please reach out with any requests; we just ask that you do the right thing regarding taking rubbish and toilet litter with you. Doggos are always welcome because doggos are the best.

Wow what an absolute epic place to camp! Exceeded all of our expectations and more. I don’t think we have ever stayed at a campsite so clean and so well looked after. The grounds are immaculate and toilet / shower facilities were great. Loved all of the little extra touches like items in the bathroom incase you forget, a box of communal kids toys and fire wood. Also great to have lots of bins around. Even though it was freezing our kids had the best time playing in the creek and exploring. The creek was absolutely stunning, perfect spot to unwind and relax in nature. The owners also invited us to pick some mandarin’s off their tree which was another massive highlight for the kids. We loved that being only 4 sites there was a lot of room between them you don’t feel like you are too close to others. Truly cannot fault this campsite at all, thank you for having us we will be back for sure!

Mindoo is one of those places you want to keep a secret. The Junction was perfect for our party of 3 , and the other three spots down our track were bigger and one had a sandy creek frontage. Cannot wait to bring friends back here. We checked out the camping at Bald Rock NP, Mindoo is worth every penny more. What’s more there is a delightful drive to Bald Rock, a great walk up the monolith, then an easy drive through Tenterfield for late lunch, completing a great loop back the Bruxner to Mindoo in time to light the fire and relax beside the Cataract running and splashing by. Is it exaggerating to say this is a mini El Questro but with complete privacy and no commercialisation ? Maybe … but Mindoo is much more my pace…

The price is excellent for what you get. There’s plenty of space to choose where to set up, and the beautiful forest with large trees alongside the field adds a really peaceful feel. You can hear the highway faintly, but it didn’t affect our sleep at all. Overall, it’s great value for money—I just wish more Hipcamp sites were this affordable.

We had a lovely relaxing 2 night stay at Koala in our caravan. Beautiful spot right on the river and so peaceful. We arrived to wood stacked ready for us near the fireplace and the site was very tidy and well maintained. The whole property is really amazing and so well managed and looked after.
Our only suggestion would be if you would be able to provide a dump point for caravan toilets it would be great to be able to have longer stays.
We really loved the property though and would recommend it and happily visit again.

Was our 4th or 5th time at Riverside Rest.
We love the place.
Site 1 being our absolute favourite.
Well maintained.
Prime position.
The bird life, 🐦
Seeing the dolphins 🐬 is our highlight of the stays.
Zoe is very welcoming.
Sites are well spaced out.
And minutes to Yamba.
Won't be the last time we will visit.
Safe to say, we will be back.

Greg was a sensational host. He was very kind and we’ll definitely be back. Greg made the effort to make our stay memorable. Highlights include a trip in the Polaris to watch the sunset on the ridge, being unbogged by the tractor and a complimentary pressure wash for the car on our departure. Honorable mention for the waterfall and the view we got to wake up to.

Greg was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. He kindly showed us around the available sites and let us choose the one we preferred, which we really appreciated. We also purchased firewood, and he provided more than enough for us to comfortably use over the two nights.
The campsite itself was private and peaceful, surrounded by fencing, with a truly beautiful view. There was a simple toilet about a 3-minute walk away, and it was perfectly fine to use without any inconvenience.
The shower and kitchen facilities were located near the entrance of the campground. They were clean and convenient, although a bit too far to comfortably walk from our site, so we ended up driving there.
Overall, it was a wonderful camping experience and definitely somewhere we would love to visit again.

I loved camping here, such a peaceful stay on a beautiful property. Easy to find, and each campsite had its own picnic table and fire pit which was a great bonus!
The portable toilets were also very well maintained. There were lots of lovely little touches around the property too, including swings, a rope swing, and bathtubs.

We had a great time camping at Lyall's place. The location is lovely, and the site we had, had a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains and farmland. The creek was perfect for a canoe down to the falls, nd the local pub is worth a visit too. We'll be back for sure!

The site was beautiful, and Lyall and Kristine were fantastic hosts! We all loved the animals, particularly the donkeys, and the kids really enjoyed helping to feed them. We had a great paddle down to Tooloom Falls which was a lovely spot for a swim too. Can't recommend this site more highly.
