5 nights at Bundilla River Camp

A beautiful place by the river, with grassy green grass to camp on. A pleasant place with a great outlook to the hills with cattle in the paddocks. We stayed in late April at site 20, the only problem we had was the lack on sun as we were camping off grid. We got full sun at around 2.30. If you are camping off grid I would recommend booking sites from number 1. Mind you this would be different in the summer months. Overall Rick was more than accommodating with bringing firewood down and homemade muffins. Thanks Rick and Cathy for a great stay.

Meredith is a wonderful host. She is accomodating, hospitable and a beautiful person all round. Our stay was the break we needed for the weekend. Private spot with gorgeous views of mountains, farm life, lush green fields and the night sky that keeps you in awe. This spot is a perfect stay with close proximity to mountains tracks, coastal beaches, lakes and much more. We enjoyed camping here that it is now marked as one of our favourite places to stay. Highly recommend staying here if you’re passing by or need a nice peaceful scenic place to unwind and relax.

The property oozes with old world charm and the scenery is gorgeous. Meredith was super hospitable and was so generous with sharing her family’s land. Our kids made core memories here! They loved it. Don’t stress too much about which spot you pick; they are all lovely. (Just double check on the toilet/shower situation if that’s important to you, as this is a work in progress.)

Great Spot, peaceful open space! There were other people staying here also & yet we were so far away from each other it felt like we had this whole place to ourselves. Views are stunning from the top of the hill. Definitely coming back here again.

We had a great trip at Bill’s place. We had plenty of space even with other campers around we didn’t feel over crowded. Access down to the river to fish and get the kayaks in. We would definitely stay again the next time we get up to south west rocks.

If we are here to greet you on arrival you can fill up with potable rain water at our cottage. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

The Paddock suits all vehicles- Max 6 parties at once. We also have more private spot Woodland Area which suits just one party but vehicle access is a couple of mins walk and further to the camp kitchen. If you want to avoid the crowds our property is only 10 minutes drive to great local surf and fishing beaches at Crescent Head. There is an abundance of bird life, the odd kangaroos and wallabies, and other wildlife. There is a melaleuca forest that children are welcome to play in and build a cubby house, and 2 pretty little dams to catch yabbies, and for dogs to enjoy a swim. The property where camping is provided is approx 20 acres with a limit of 10 groups so you can find your own little piece of paradise. There is plenty of fire wood for you to collect on the property on your way in. Please help yourself to any fallen timber for firewood but please do not cut any standing trees down. When checking out, ensure you properly extinguish fires and return any unused firewood to the bush. Dogs are welcome to be here off leash as long as they are well socialised and reasonably obedient. There is large areas for them to run freely and dams to swim in. It is accessible via a 2WD dirt road, even with a little wet weather. If rainfall is extreme we recommend 4wd's. The property is completely off grid so we have a 'leave it as you found it' approach. This means you will need a camp toilet, and to take all of your rubbish with you. We are a rural property so do not have rubbish collection services. (Fees apply for any left behind rubbish). Happy camping!

100 acre farm of mixed native bush and orchard plantings, with a mixture of secluded camp areas for campers with their own amenities and sites with facilities. The Woodland Lakeside campsite has a single compost toilet, and the Woodland Ridgetop sites share a camp kitchen with compost toilets and hot showers. We have two beautiful dams that are great for kayaking and swimming, and creek frontage where you can fish. Beautiful views of Yarrahapinni Mountain to the east and hills out to the west. There are 40 acres of bushland to go walkabout. Geese and ducks free range the property and feeding time visits can be arranged. We are just 1.5km of single track gravel road to the Pacific Highway with good access for all types of vehicles. There is a choice of private campsites either by the dam or the creek with no other campers in sight! We also have a multi site area at the Woodland Ridgetop with a camp kitchen, compost toilets and showers. This will be available to be booked as a large group area or as 3 individual sites. Later in 2024 we will also have beautiful glamping bell tent sites available. Drinking water (tank water) is available from an outdoor tap at the farmhouse, as long as we have had sufficient rainfall. Please check in advance if you require water. Campers MUST have their own self contained amenities for the Creek Camp, and the 2 Parking Sites, and leave no trace. There is a toilet dump point for chemical toilets in Macksville, 10 mins away. All he sites are dog friendly as long as all dog poo is cleared up. 20 mins to Scotts Head and Grassy Head beaches and Yarrahapinni National Park. State Forest on the doorstep great for mountain bikes, and with motorbike trails heading out to the west. The farm is 5 minutes from the Eungai Buffallo Farm cafe. There is also farm produce available for sale - fresh eggs for breakfast!

Heartwood - tranquility

Heartwood Farm is a centrally located 120 acres on the Mid-North Coast - about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, only 1.5 kms off Pacific Highway, 25 mins to Port Macquarie, 15 Mins to Kempsey, 30 minutes to Crescent Head and 45 mins to South West Rocks. We are off grid and live close to nature and enjoy the abundance that provides. We have been building and developing for the last few years. We are still a work in progress. There are three Brumbies that live over the fence and 5 other horses that will no doubt come and say hello. They are all friendly, especially if you have a carrot. There are also a lot of kangaroos and wallabies, some quite friendly as they have been raised by our neighbour who does animal rescue. There are also a lot of different species of birds, including the much-loved Black Cockatoos which are in abundance here. We have also seen turtles, frilled neck lizards, diamond pythons, red belly black snakes (rarely) and goannas.

You might be lucky enough to spot a koala or two. We offer spacious, shady & private camp sites. Tinonee general store is nearby and is well stocked for all your essential needs. Or a 15 minute scenic drive to the charming town of Wingham where you'll find pubs, a museum, Wingham Brush Nature reserve and lovely boutique shops. Taree is also only 15 minutes away. Some of the best mountain bike trails NSW has to offer can be found right next door in Kiwarrak State Forest. Cool off at Charity Creek a popular local swimming spot or visit some of the Mid Coasts most stunning beaches only a short drive away. Lots of interesting markets close by including Black Head Bazaar, Nabiac Farmers, Old Bar Community markets just to name a few. Fires permitted in the designated fire pits depending on fire danger rating. Firewood available. We have no facilities on the property so campers must be fully self contained. Little Plain Hall Grounds

Little Plain Hall grounds - a small rural hall and grounds celebrating their 100th year in 2023 and adjacent to the Ellenborough River with a number of bush campsites available. (If you are after more than a nice piece of grass and a flushing toilet then this property maybe isn't for you!) All sites are reached via dirt tracks that can be rough and slippery. Sites 1 and 2 are adjacent to each other behind the hall and closest to the toilet and the most accessible-more suited to caravans and those without 4 wheel drives. Sites 3, 4 and 5 are adjacent to each other on the banks of the river. Site 6 is separate from the others on the bank of Little Plain Creek but furthest from the toilet. PLEASE NOTE: Access to the river at sites 3, 4 and 5 - the banks are steep and though we have a narrow track down it is slippery. There is access to the river at other spots on the property. This open grassed area of 6 acres is 5 kms further on from the Ellenborough Falls turnoff. (We are not near Ellenborough village but in Elands- this is a somewhat common error when people look us up.) We are a community-run non-profit facility available to campers. All funds raised are used to improve the grounds and hall. Directions to find us: From the South -off the Pacific highway at Taree through Wingham, Follow the Brown tourist signs to Ellenborough Falls. We are approx. 5 kms from the falls turnoff. From the north- Off the Pacific Highway: Again the brown tourist signs will get you to Ellenborough Falls Port Macquarie end through Comboyne-either way requires access over narrow, dirt roads. From the Falls turnoff: continue straight ahead on Glenwarrin Road (don't turn into the falls). You will cross over 2 bridges. After the 2nd bridge, the grounds are on your right at the top of the small hill. 542 Glenwarrin Road Elands. Larger rigs are not advised. One toilet available and limited tank water - please BYO water and be water wise with the tank water at the hall. Well behaved pets are welcome. Hall available for hire - please send an enquiry.
