The Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was established in 2018 as an organic garlic farm now owned by James and Michelle and their two children. The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). The building also houses toilet and shower facilities for guests when camping on site. On some evenings, the sky puts on a real show of golden sun rays with pink, purple and blue clouds while swallows flit across the garden beds catching moths. We would like to advise that entry to our beautiful property is a dirt road and does have mounds. The road has just been upgraded and although has dirt mounds is quite easy. The ultimate Farm Solitude Camping experience for nature lovers seeking adventure, peace and serenity.
This is not a place for parties and loud noise, but if you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park.
Most sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7km down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves.
All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after.
Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only.
4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. For all 4WD areas please let your Tyres down to 25psi to help conserve our tracks.
Outback 4WD tracks are now open for campers to explore as well as Hidden Valley.
All sites have toilets, but guests will need their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Phone Service is very limited in this area. If you email a request, sometimes it may take a few hours for us to reply.
No motorbikes or chainsaws and no hunting allowed.
WARNING: There are many areas of cliff edges and shear drops! Children must be supervised at all times while exploring these areas. There are also dams at or near some of the campsite areas that could be dangerous if children wander off exploring alone.

Our property is located in the Blue Mountains, nestled right in the middle of the national park and all that the Blue Mountains bush has to offer. Gums, ferns, fresh air and swimming holes.
I only allow one group to camp at any one time per site. Other groups will be well away from you. However the dam is available for everyone to use. I adjust each booking with each group depending on size of the group and time of year. I also hold large events so will book out the entire site for large groups.
Just a short drive from Sydney but a world away with its ancient forests and meandering pathways. All photos are from the site or within a 2km walk of the camping site in National Park or reserve. Please note that the canyon photos are from a spot that is very difficult to get to.
I welcome self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. However there are facilities on site for smaller groups at an extra cost.
The property offers a number of sites that can accommodate various group numbers. Please message me if you're interested in booking one or more listings for your special get together.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly, but no cats please. Also please be aware that we are surrounded by nature and part of nature are snakes and ticks.

Please be aware that due to our proximity to the road and rail that at times you will hear some traffic noise. But most times it is very quiet except for the frogs.

The Communal camping area is within walking distance of our amenities block, which offers flushing porcelain toilets and a hot shower. Bush campsites are fully self-sufficient, BYO (bring your own) water and toileting system. All campers are required to take their rubbish home with them as there are no bins on site. Natural bushland consisting of 80 acres with the Crudine River along the boundary. We are part of the Sofala gold rush history (from the 1850s), sit back and imagine gold miners and their families camped along the banks.
There are two campsites, Camp Crudine Kitchen and Camp Crudine Riverside. When you make your booking whether for 2 people or a group of family and friends the chosen campsite is all yours for the length of your stay.
If you need supplies Sofala is just 8 km away, drop in and explore the town. Hill End is 28 km which is another Historic town to explore.
Camp Crudine is great for kids and adults alike to have a go at panning for gold or try out the metal detector. All findings must be returned to the host, lol.
Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Firewood is available at the Sofala General Store.
Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving.
Dogs are welcome but they must be supervised and under control at all times.
The owner has livestock on the property which must be respected at all times.

Unwind in the seclusion of this private and safe bush camping site on the banks of the Wambuul-Macquarie River in the remote Killongbutta valley located half-way between Bathurst and Orange.
It’s a place where time stands still. Enabling you to reconnect with nature as you slow down and embrace the sounds of the river, wildlife and sheoaks when they ‘whisper secrets to the wind’.
Many stories and dreamings have come from this place which guarantees to inspire your imagination as an artist, writer, poet or musician.
You have access to 100 acres of bushland or enjoy a walk along Killongbutta Road which winds its way through spectacular Wiradjuri country where ancient stone quarries, corroboree sites and a warrior’s grave have been found.
Platypus, water dragons and river rats all live in the river. Be prepared to share the site with wombats who have burrowed their homes into the banks.
Road access to site is suitable for 2WD in dry weather. It is a short, steep drop with two tight corners not suitable for large caravans and RVs.
The site has a newly constructed long drop toilet, pets are allowed and bring your own firewood to ensure you have enough as it's becoming scarce around the site. Please take all rubbish with you.
Please note: Kids under 12 are free to support young families wanting to experience the bush. Please still add them to the booking as they will not be charged.
What is not allowed: shooters and trappers, illegal fishing, motor bikes, quad bikes and other noisy machines!
Killongbutta Road runs off Freemantle Road and is 36 kms from Bathurst. It is 40 kilometres from Orange through Gowan Road that joins Lower Lewis Ponds Road.
For your information, On the Stone is a podcast and publishing studio that produces a quarterly magazine for the Freemantle Road community. We have local history to share and can always provide information about our services.

The Little Creek Retreat is conveniently located 1km north of Lithgow town centre at the end of the road nestled at the bottom of the valley near a pretty little creek. It sits next to the heritage state mine which you may view and have tours on the weekend.
We have 1 cozy site with outdoor seating and cooking area fire pit for up to 6 people. Feel free to pet our miniature goats. They are very friendly. Please ask before feeding them!

Local kangaroos sometimes drop by. Plenty of wildlife with kookaburras, parrots, currawongs and even a shy wombat. Mini goats are sometimes on the property as well.
There are many amazing local bush walks and plenty of fascinating history and things to do.
Space for 3 cars, tent, caravan or trailer 10m x 4m wide clear flat area with easy access next to outdoor seating.
2 minute drive to cafes and shops and town centre, bus stop is 100m, train station 800m. We are conveniently close to town.
Lithgow tourism centre has plenty of information and activities to do. There are scenic lookouts, climbing, canyoning, bike trails or simply relax with great eateries and historical sites.
Cooking fires are permitted when there are no RFS bans in place.
Note: You will need to completely extinguish your fire before you depart. You may collect water from the creek.
It is ok to collect fallen kindling, no chain sawing of trees. Wood is provided free of charge for small fires only. If you use the kindling please play if forward and collect for the next person. If you need more wood simply message me.
There is a camping toilet with toilet paper and hand sanitizer supplied.
Well behaved pets are welcome and we encourage you to keep your dog on a lead if they are likely to adventure too far from your site and disturb the local wildlife or other campers. No cats as there are many native birds.

We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort.
The property consists of a straw bale house, Tipis, Cottages, 5 stars shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet ), outdoor kitchen (gas bbq, pizza oven, all kitchen utensils, pots ), solar system and worm farm septic system.
The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home.
Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.)
Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property.
They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties.

Our road has ‘roll overs’, rocks and a couple of tight turns on large gradients) on so you need a vehicle with 20cm+ clearance.
If you are towing a camper trailer, you need a good 4wd engine to get back up the hill confidently.
Each campsite is a long way from other sites - usually about 800m.
Rocklee has a mix of no-longer used paddocks and about 800 acres of untouched bush.
You will arrive through the conservation area, which has beautiful pagodas and endless bushwalks.
Hipcampers can choose from plenty of space where they'd like to set up camp.
Please be careful as some paddocks are overgrown, fences have come down and there are lots of wombat holes, so drive slowly and be careful.
There are no amenities here, campers need to be self contained and leave no trace. This means you need to bring water, use exisiting fireplaces and take your rubbish, recycling and compost with you.
(You need to bring water from home or elsewhere on the way. Please note you cannot fill up free tap water at Capertee - either at the BP, the picnic area or the pub. It just doesn’t rain enough to fill up the tanks.)

This is not a place for parties and loud noise, but if you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park.
Most sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7km down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves.
All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after.
Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only.
4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. For all 4WD areas please let your Tyres down to 25psi to help conserve our tracks.
Outback 4WD tracks are now open for campers to explore as well as Hidden Valley.
All sites have toilets, but guests will need their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Phone Service is very limited in this area. If you email a request, sometimes it may take a few hours for us to reply.
No motorbikes or chainsaws and no hunting allowed.

I only allow one group to camp at any one time per site. Other groups will be well away from you. However the dam is available for everyone to use. I adjust each booking with each group depending on size of the group and time of year. I also hold large events so will book out the entire site for large groups.
Just a short drive from Sydney but a world away with its ancient forests and meandering pathways. All photos are from the site or within a 2km walk of the camping site in National Park or reserve. Please note that the canyon photos are from a spot that is very difficult to get to.
I welcome self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. However there are facilities on site for smaller groups at an extra cost.

If you need supplies Sofala is just 8 km away, drop in and explore the town. Hill End is 28 km which is another Historic town to explore.
Camp Crudine is great for kids and adults alike to have a go at panning for gold or try out the metal detector. All findings must be returned to the host, lol.
Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Firewood is available at the Sofala General Store.
Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving.

You have access to 100 acres of bushland or enjoy a walk along Killongbutta Road which winds its way through spectacular Wiradjuri country where ancient stone quarries, corroboree sites and a warrior’s grave have been found.
Platypus, water dragons and river rats all live in the river. Be prepared to share the site with wombats who have burrowed their homes into the banks.
Road access to site is suitable for 2WD in dry weather. It is a short, steep drop with two tight corners not suitable for large caravans and RVs.
The site has a newly constructed long drop toilet, pets are allowed and bring your own firewood to ensure you have enough as it's becoming scarce around the site. Please take all rubbish with you.
Please note: Kids under 12 are free to support young families wanting to experience the bush. Please still add them to the booking as they will not be charged.
What is not allowed: shooters and trappers, illegal fishing, motor bikes, quad bikes and other noisy machines!
Killongbutta Road runs off Freemantle Road and is 36 kms from Bathurst. It is 40 kilometres from Orange through Gowan Road that joins Lower Lewis Ponds Road.

Cooking fires are permitted when there are no RFS bans in place.
Note: You will need to completely extinguish your fire before you depart. You may collect water from the creek.
It is ok to collect fallen kindling, no chain sawing of trees. Wood is provided free of charge for small fires only. If you use the kindling please play if forward and collect for the next person. If you need more wood simply message me.
There is a camping toilet with toilet paper and hand sanitizer supplied.

Old Bara is a stunning cattle property, often described as truly magical. Camp next to the creek and dogs are welcome! Old Bara offers so much more than just a place to park. Suitable for all size vehicles/vans/tents.
We have great loos, voted as "the best in Australia" however, we do not have showers or powered sites.
Many sites available, avoid the crowds, we do not over crowd our campers. Only 25 mins easy drive (including 9kms of dirt road) to all the wonderful Mudgee wineries, cafes and restaurants. It's the perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries.
We have limited phone coverage across the property for Telstra and Optus.

Beelisco Honey Hipcamp camping spot is set on 300acres located in the beautiful valley of Baerami Creek and surrounded by the amazing mountain views of Wollemi National Park. We are located just off the Bylong Valley Way, so a great spot to spend a night or two if travelling through. There are some amazing mountain views and a very tranquil peaceful camping spot.
Tar sealed road all the way to the front gate and then only 150metres in on farm to your campsite on a very well-maintained road suitable for ALL vehicles. We have wide gate access to suit all vehicles/trailers of any size to go in and out and all sites are grassy and level.
Great spot to relax, chill and take in the amazing country air and surroundings, relax by a fire, cook marshmallows or a camp oven feast. Walk down to the edge of this campsite and listen to the creek trickle past, go bushwalking, listen to the birds and watch the Kangaroos. Of a night you will be amazed at how many stars you can see, it is just beautiful, so don't forget to look up.

4WD only (clearance of 20cm+ needed). Rocklee is on Wiradjuri land, a short drive from Capertee, surrounded by Gardens of Stone and Capertee national parks and the Mugii Murrum-ban State Conservation Area.
Rocklee is 2.5 hours from Sydney and Dubbo.
Access is 4wd only. (We’re serious!)
Our road has ‘roll overs’, rocks and a couple of tight turns on large gradients) on so you need a vehicle with 20cm+ clearance.
If you are towing a camper trailer, you need a good 4wd engine to get back up the hill confidently.
Each campsite is a long way from other sites - usually about 800m.
Rocklee has a mix of no-longer used paddocks and about 800 acres of untouched bush.
You will arrive through the conservation area, which has beautiful pagodas and endless bushwalks.
Hipcampers can choose from plenty of space where they'd like to set up camp.
Please be careful as some paddocks are overgrown, fences have come down and there are lots of wombat holes, so drive slowly and be careful.
There are no amenities here, campers need to be self contained and leave no trace. This means you need to bring water, use exisiting fireplaces and take your rubbish, recycling and compost with you.
(You need to bring water from home or elsewhere on the way. Please note you cannot fill up free tap water at Capertee - either at the BP, the picnic area or the pub. It just doesn’t rain enough to fill up the tanks.)

Such a beautiful spot!! You have all the comforts of hot showers and clean bathrooms, with the mix of feeling off-grid. There is so much to do there as well, horse-riding, hikes, 4wd tracks close by. I would 100% recommend.

David owns a stunning, expansive property set amongst the hills, filled with caves, walking tracks, and fantastic 4WDing opportunities. The tracks are meticulously formed throughout the property, making it a pleasure to explore and enjoy.
David was welcoming and helpful while still giving us plenty of space to relax and unwind. Toilets at each campsite were greatly appreciated and added to the comfort of our stay.
Although we weren’t able to have a campfire during our visit, it didn’t dampen the experience, especially after seeing the devastating effects of past bushfires in the area.
A truly memorable place to stay.

We enjoyed our time in Turon gates.
I like the location, by the river and close to mountains if you want to hike. We did hike during sunrise and sunset, it was great. I absolutely favour the flush toilet and hot shower, plus bins are available.
Communication is great. They give clear instructions and directions before our stay.
I highly recommends this place and wouldn’t mind going back.

Damien and Tammie’s land is peaceful, spacious, and beautifully natural. The sites feel private and well spread out, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the surroundings. It’s quiet and scenic, perfect for switching off and enjoying nature, and the hosts are welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. A great spot for campers looking for a calm, laid-back stay.

Camping here was beautiful. The owners are clearly very proud of their land and have kept the campsites secluded and private. They haven't tried to rort campers and turn it into a money-making scheme, which made camping here even more special. We were completely isolated, and the self made composting toilets were beautifully clean. We are already planning another trip back here. I hope it remains as quiet and secluded, as it was genuinely a great site

We loved our stay at Dave’s place near Merriwa. There was so much to see and explore — we saw eagles, emus, heaps of kangaroos and wallabies during our stay.
We really appreciated how far apart the campsites are, which gave our family plenty of privacy and made it feel super peaceful and secluded. Dave has also put a lot of thought into the little details, like providing port-a-loos and clean water for washing up and showering, which made camping really comfortable.
Dave was a great host and took the time to show us around, share info about the property and answer all our questions. There are also signs and maps around to help you find your way easily.
We’d happily come back and would definitely recommend staying here!

We've been fortunate enough to stay at Kellies a few times now (wish it was more) and every time it as been an amazing stay.
Our camping spot was private (no campers in site), grassy and over looking the creek. So peaceful to get away from the city.
4WD required to get to the spot we were allocated.
Kellie is an amazing host and again I say it is an absolute privilege to be able to spend time on her property.

We had a fantastic stay at Wonderlust. Our campsite was very private with plenty of open space, making it peaceful and relaxing while still being close to great amenities.
The nearby hiking tracks were a real highlight and easy to access, and exploring the huge cave was an awesome experience and added a sense of adventure to the stay. The kids loved the playground, which was a great bonus for families.
The toilets and showers were a standout — extremely clean, very well maintained, and much better than expected for a camping setup.
Overall, this is a great spot if you’re looking for privacy, space, nature, and proper facilities. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it.

Great place! Just a few minutes from the Blue Mountains. We chose this spot because we spent the morning exploring and wanted somewhere close to relax, watch the sunset, and unwind and it was perfect. We absolutely loved it.
What I liked the most was the amount of space. The sites are very well spaced out, so you really get privacy. Each site has its own fire pit, and the hosts provide firewood, with the option to buy it from them or collect it yourself, which we thought was a fun little adventure.
They also have the most beautiful and friendly dogs! Michelle was incredibly attentive and welcoming, never rushed us with timing, and we were lucky enough to try her homemade garlic scones and garlic jam from the farm, they were absolutely delicious.
Even though the bathrooms are composting toilets (with sawdust), they were spotless and honestly felt hotel-level, with neatly folded towels and thoughtful amenities.
Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again!

Stayed: 6 nights across two site locations
Would I return? Yes, absolutely — with the right expectations and preparation.
Setting: A lush grassed riverside site with gum trees for some shade. The wide river had a few deeper pockets perfect for a refreshing summer dip.
Wildlife highlight: Roaming horses and alpacas wandering among the campsites were a genuine delight and added real charm to the property.
Hosts’ presence: The owners were on site regularly, inspecting and checking in. It was clear they care about guests enjoying the property.
Track conditions: The 1.5 km descent is steep and rocky — tougher than expected. 4WD is essential, and experience matters. After rain, the climb out would be risky. With heavy traffic, the track deteriorated, but our group (including two campers and a caravan) made it out safely.
Arrival timing: Aim to arrive in daylight to assess the descent and choose your line carefully.
Navigation and clarity: We stayed across two locations, and the booking system/layout was hard to follow at first.
Suggestion: A simple site map included directly in Hipcamp listing would be helpful when selecting and navigating to sites.
Shower hire: The hired shower was a canvas bag with a shower rose. Being far from the river made carrying and hanging it impractical, and getting direct sun was difficult. At $30 you can buy it for $25 new.
Overall, the property offers stunning views and lovely campsites and great for small groups.

Our site was 2WD and was brilliant. It suited our van which wasn’t particularly suited to off road driving. We had lovely views, very quiet and we simply drove our 4wd down the hill to meet up with our family on the river. Sites on the river were very nice also. Enjoyed riverside camp and campfire etc, kids had a ball.
