Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Good Paddock is located just 5 minutes out of town with a beautiful little fresh water creek. The property has access to mountain to a mountain hike, 4WD trails and glow worm tunnel access. The paddock is flat and grassy, any type of tent or van can be set up around a campfire. This paddock used to be inhabited by Miners and locals, so you will find bomb shelters, rail tracks and other little historical objects in the ground. There are distant neighbours past the trees. At the top of the mountain there is a breathtaking view of the whole town. This site is close to many gems of the area and there are many 4WD trails. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control and cleaned up after. Campfires are also permitted when there is no restrictions in place.Pitch your tent, or park your van or caravan at the base a beautiful mountain. Escape the city to the sound of birds. It’s a quick two minute drive to the entrance of the state forest, this has access to the major 4x4 off-roading routes, the glow worm tunnel, the lost city and much more to explore. This campsite is a 8 minute drive to town while still being peaceful. At the top of the mountain there is a breathtaking view of the whole town. This site is close to many gems of the area and there are many 4WD trails. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control and cleaned up after. Campfires are also permitted when there is no restrictions in place.

Mountain Flat
Conveniently located, close to town and Newnes State Forest entrance. Quiet with enough room to accommodate the three large campsites, however not a lot of shade. Ideal for somewhere to setup a base and to spend the day out and about.

Overall we had a good time. There are lots of fire pits on site so you don't need to bring your own. We were welcomed by a group of 6 wallabies and the entire site is surrounded by blackberry bushes. It's good value for the cost, specially because we wanted somewhere were out dog could be off leash. However it was too close to 'civilisation' for our liking, you could hear lots of cars and motorbikes, specially at night and early morning. It wasn't the quiet time with nature we had envisioned. It could be a good camping base though if you are planning to visit different sites around Lithgow throughout the course of a few days

Disappointed
Signage was very poor, grass needed a trim and felt like the camp-site was in an industrial area.
