We booked expecting something close to town, but not this close. In reality, this paddock is right on the edge of town and you will be setting up camp within view of rows of houses. We didn't end up staying the night - driving in past the houses and dodging the cars/projects felt a bit off, and setting up in a paddock with scraps of metal and a some infrastructure (toilets?) that had seen better days just wasn't the camping experience we were after.
This place would be perfect if you were after something cheap within within walking distance of downtown Lithgow or the pub, but it's not exactly what we were after.
The site to very close to civilisation and toilets were out of order, which we only found out after reching the campsite.

Nice spot. Good value with nice bush on the hill on one side. Definitely not as secluded as the pictures suggest but still peaceful and nice. Don't try to use the portaloo on site. Bring your own or go bush.
It's right next to a train line and caravan park. Photos cover that part up.
We rocked up and did not even get out of the car, its basically a dump, the photo's are misleading.

Install a new toilet. There is living things growing inside, therefore dose not consider as a site with a ‘toilet’ available. That was the main reason as to why we had this site booked. Overall, was okay.

Great camping for the price! And animals had a great time, great to wake up with our campsite covered in frost 🥶, compost toilet however was not usable
Hard to find, access narrow, with briar bush or blackberry bush very tight, and then through a paddock of old machinery and rubbish to get to "good paddock", hardly scenic. Didnt stay.
This was the noisiest camping spot I have ever visited. Im assuming it is worse from the traffic diversion from Vic pass but the train is also incredibly loud and slowly screetches past multiple times a night. Even at 3am the noise was still just as loud as it was at 7pm. Takes a lot to say I wouldnt recommend a camp spot but if you're looking for a peaceful escape from city/ noise pollution this unfortunately isnt it.
I loved the fire pits and table laid out but had a weird feeling being right behind peoples houses and toilets are not well kept

We loved camping here, it was great! Plenty of space and proximity tot the gardens of stone!
Great secluded camp site with trails to the lost city nearby. Local amenities within 5/10 minute driving distance. A few fire pits available on the site which was a great touch (bring your own kindling/wood) - we had a great stay!

My pup and I had a great 2night stay at Good Paddock. It was a perfect spot close to Lithgow town for my first solo camp! You do hear nearby trucks and trains so if you are after a quiet serenity this might not be the place for you.
We had the site all to ourselves and loved that it was dog friendly . She did not want to come home. I would definitely stay again.

A decent campsite not far from Lithgow town. Was a little busy when I visited over the January long weekend. You can see the train line/street lights from the campsite but the noise wasn't too bad and the night sky was quite clear. There were little fire pits dotted around and a drop toilet with paper.

Beautiful hill side views. Was a nice simple spot to camp. Definitely recommend taking ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as the freight trains near by at the depot are quite loud

Good Paddock was perfect. Spacious setting, close to Lithgow nestled at the foot of surrounding mountains.
The directions through Hipcamp are incorrect.
Little concerning driving through the rubble on entry.
Grass is quite long, toilet, well I wouldn’t even use it with the weeds grown up so much around it.
Who ever owns the grey SUV parked at the shed near the chook pen likes to come into the camping area with his mate and both do donuts.
Very disappointing experience, left a night early.

Myself and husband loved our stay here!! We spent a day wondering the town of Lithgow and the ruins and stayed an extra night to visit the glow worm caves! Super lucky to have had the campsite to ourselves for our time there but what a beautiful place 💛 zero issues at all and we met Sally’s father who was friendly and made us feel very welcome 🥰 thank you Sally! We have already recommended you to friends and family 💛

We went into our stay without high expectations which worked well for us. If you’re expecting well manicured landscapes and golden toilets pay a lot more and stay elsewhere. All we needed was a ‘Good Paddock’ to setup our camp,somewhere central to base ourselves where we needed to be and this spot was absolutely perfect for us,very spacious away from other campers. Being the long weekend when we stayed a bit of rowdyness was expected no matter where we were,I’ve read other reviews of this place I can see why some others would have certain reviews but we were quite happy to see people enjoying the property and to meet some of the family that lived there who were very polite and friendly we were also fortunate enough on our last night there everyone else had cleared out giving us the whole paddock to ourselves. We were also fortunate to be visited by the local wombat and mob of Roos. All in all we were very happy with our stay and would recommend to others on the basis to not expect a bowling green and toilet fit for kings. Thanks again Sally for having us,we look to return sometime in the future
