The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). On some evenings, the sky puts on a real show of golden sun rays with pink, purple and blue clouds while swallows flit across the garden beds catching moths. This is not a place for parties and loud noise, but if you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park.
Most sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7km down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves.
All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after.
Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only.
4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. For all 4WD areas please let your Tyres down to 25psi to help conserve our tracks.
Outback 4WD tracks are now open for campers to explore as well as Hidden Valley.
All sites have toilets, but guests will need their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Phone Service is very limited in this area. If you email a request, sometimes it may take a few hours for us to reply.
No motorbikes or chainsaws and no hunting allowed.
WARNING: There are many areas of cliff edges and shear drops! Children must be supervised at all times while exploring these areas. There are also dams at or near some of the campsite areas that could be dangerous if children wander off exploring alone.

Our property is located in the Blue Mountains, nestled right in the middle of the national park and all that the Blue Mountains bush has to offer. Gums, ferns, fresh air and swimming holes.
I only allow one group to camp at any one time per site. Other groups will be well away from you. However the dam is available for everyone to use. I adjust each booking with each group depending on size of the group and time of year. I also hold large events so will book out the entire site for large groups.
Just a short drive from Sydney but a world away with its ancient forests and meandering pathways. All photos are from the site or within a 2km walk of the camping site in National Park or reserve. Please note that the canyon photos are from a spot that is very difficult to get to.
I welcome self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. However there are facilities on site for smaller groups at an extra cost.
The property offers a number of sites that can accommodate various group numbers. Please message me if you're interested in booking one or more listings for your special get together.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly, but no cats please. Also please be aware that we are surrounded by nature and part of nature are snakes and ticks.

Rocklee is 2.5 hours from Sydney and Dubbo.
Access is 4wd only. (We’re serious!)
Our road has ‘roll overs’, rocks and a couple of tight turns on large gradients) on so you need a vehicle with 20cm+ clearance.
If you are towing a camper trailer, you need a good 4wd engine to get back up the hill confidently.
Each campsite is a long way from other sites - usually about 800m.
Rocklee has a mix of no-longer used paddocks and about 800 acres of untouched bush.
You will arrive through the conservation area, which has beautiful pagodas and endless bushwalks.
Hipcampers can choose from plenty of space where they'd like to set up camp.
Please be careful as some paddocks are overgrown, fences have come down and there are lots of wombat holes, so drive slowly and be careful.
There are no amenities here, campers need to be self contained and leave no trace. This means you need to bring water, use exisiting fireplaces and take your rubbish, recycling and compost with you.
(You need to bring water from home or elsewhere on the way. Please note you cannot fill up free tap water at Capertee - either at the BP, the picnic area or the pub. It just doesn’t rain enough to fill up the tanks.)

Artisans Park is located 45 minutes from Bathurst and is the closest city for food and fuel. We do not have local shops or fuel stations.
The London bus is suitable for children as the upper deck houses the bedroom. The lower deck houses the kitchen and bathroom with a front deck complete with barbecue and amazing views.
Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows.
The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water.
There is a toilet and shower downstairs.
The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels.
This bus has featured on many TV shows and is often featured

This is not a place for parties and loud noise, but if you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park.
Most sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7km down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves.
All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after.
Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only.
4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. For all 4WD areas please let your Tyres down to 25psi to help conserve our tracks.
Outback 4WD tracks are now open for campers to explore as well as Hidden Valley.
All sites have toilets, but guests will need their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Phone Service is very limited in this area. If you email a request, sometimes it may take a few hours for us to reply.
No motorbikes or chainsaws and no hunting allowed.

I only allow one group to camp at any one time per site. Other groups will be well away from you. However the dam is available for everyone to use. I adjust each booking with each group depending on size of the group and time of year. I also hold large events so will book out the entire site for large groups.
Just a short drive from Sydney but a world away with its ancient forests and meandering pathways. All photos are from the site or within a 2km walk of the camping site in National Park or reserve. Please note that the canyon photos are from a spot that is very difficult to get to.
I welcome self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. However there are facilities on site for smaller groups at an extra cost.

Our road has ‘roll overs’, rocks and a couple of tight turns on large gradients) on so you need a vehicle with 20cm+ clearance.
If you are towing a camper trailer, you need a good 4wd engine to get back up the hill confidently.
Each campsite is a long way from other sites - usually about 800m.
Rocklee has a mix of no-longer used paddocks and about 800 acres of untouched bush.
You will arrive through the conservation area, which has beautiful pagodas and endless bushwalks.
Hipcampers can choose from plenty of space where they'd like to set up camp.
Please be careful as some paddocks are overgrown, fences have come down and there are lots of wombat holes, so drive slowly and be careful.
There are no amenities here, campers need to be self contained and leave no trace. This means you need to bring water, use exisiting fireplaces and take your rubbish, recycling and compost with you.
(You need to bring water from home or elsewhere on the way. Please note you cannot fill up free tap water at Capertee - either at the BP, the picnic area or the pub. It just doesn’t rain enough to fill up the tanks.)

We had Fern Camp all to ourselves and loved it. We didn’t see a soul the whole time ! You’ll need to be completely self sufficient with water, toilet etc. The road in gets gnarly which is fun if you have a capable 4WD.

Amazing views, very clean toilets, and a gorgeous spot to camp. We spotted lots of animals and had very friendly, easy communication with Leanne. We arrived during a thunderstorm in a 2WD (getting down was a bit bumpy since we have a pretty low car but wasn’t a problem), and Emma even checked in to make sure we made it safely to the campsite- a very kind gesture!

We had a beautiful stay at Eagles View campsite! Directions were accurate. Dave came and met us at the gate escorting us there. He is very friendly and engaging giving us good directions and advice, but then left us alone until we said our goodbyes.
The property is HUGE and full of untapped wonders. We have a 4WD vehicle and made the most of our stay wondering the property in it. It was a bit hot for hiking and then a storm front came through later and overnight which was spectacular from that high vantage point. Before the worst of the storm hit early in the morning the sky was clear enough in places to see the full moon and Orion’s Belt. Magical!💚
Highly recommended. Thanks David. We will definitely be back for a more extended stay.

The whole Hillside setup is just awesome. Large private sites with toilet facilities. The campsites are well maintained and each has it's own unique characteristics. Hidden Valley is just fantastic .... it's like being in a different world. Lot's of 4WD tracks of varying difficulty to try out. Wildlife is everywhere, and the starscape is just beautiful. David owns a stunning, expansive property set amongst the hills, filled with caves, walking tracks, and fantastic 4WDing opportunities. The tracks are meticulously formed throughout the property, making it a pleasure to explore and enjoy.
David was welcoming and helpful while still giving us plenty of space to relax and unwind. Toilets at each campsite were greatly appreciated and added to the comfort of our stay.
Although we weren’t able to have a campfire during our visit, it didn’t dampen the experience, especially after seeing the devastating effects of past bushfires in the area.
A truly memorable place to stay.

Really spacious campsite and super clean toilet. The property is beautiful and very peaceful. David was great to deal with, easy to communicate with and incredibly helpful, especially when we were having some car trouble.
We were hoping to see a wombat, and David pointed us to the best campsite for it and he was right! We were so excited to spot one. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Dave has an amazing property. So many sites, each with a port-a-loo and fire pit. Total fire ban however when we visited in Jan'26. Pleanty of moderate 4WD tracks and bush walking trails, with tree markers so you cant get lost. The country was so dry during our stay that the creeks were dry and barely any water flowing in Bow River. Dave was a friendly host and informative about the area. Highly recommend. We'll likely revisit in the winter to experience the contrast.

Damien and Tammie’s land is peaceful, spacious, and beautifully natural. The sites feel private and well spread out, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the surroundings. It’s quiet and scenic, perfect for switching off and enjoying nature, and the hosts are welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. A great spot for campers looking for a calm, laid-back stay.

Spent a great couple of nights here over new years. A beautiful valley with plenty of places to camp up, marked up by campfire spots dotted around.
Great facilities on-site including clean flushable toilets and even a swimming hole.
5/5 recommend if you are looking for a relaxing campspot with some open space and a couple of luxuries. If youre after something more of a wild camping experience it might not be what youre looking for.

We loved our stay. The camp spot is beautiful and peaceful. Really close to Mudgee town and surrounding wineries. Adam gave us some great advice on where to go and what to see and we’d really recommend staying at this tranquil camp spot.

My favourite spot I’ve ever camped at in Australia. The location is just spectacular, the light hitting the cliffs at sunrise and sunset was magic, the stargazing was incredible. Jacob and his family/team have thought of everything - just the right amount of comfort (toilets, hot showers, plunge pool, adequate signage, potable water, firewood) without interrupting the sense of being away from it all out in nature. We camped over NYE with our dog and we had the best time - and no crowds at all. Jacob and Mandy were really helpful with any questions or anything we needed. Thanks for having us!

We loved our stay at Dave’s place near Merriwa. There was so much to see and explore — we saw eagles, emus, heaps of kangaroos and wallabies during our stay.
We really appreciated how far apart the campsites are, which gave our family plenty of privacy and made it feel super peaceful and secluded. Dave has also put a lot of thought into the little details, like providing port-a-loos and clean water for washing up and showering, which made camping really comfortable.
Dave was a great host and took the time to show us around, share info about the property and answer all our questions. There are also signs and maps around to help you find your way easily.
We’d happily come back and would definitely recommend staying here!

We've been fortunate enough to stay at Kellies a few times now (wish it was more) and every time it as been an amazing stay.
Our camping spot was private (no campers in site), grassy and over looking the creek. So peaceful to get away from the city.
4WD required to get to the spot we were allocated.
Kellie is an amazing host and again I say it is an absolute privilege to be able to spend time on her property.

What an awesome location to set up the caravan for 3 nights! We were close to the escarpment so the view was amazing.
We camped near the end where the road goes up to the Wollemi National Park. One day we drove to the park gate and walked to the top of the next ridge. 90 min up and 60 min back down. It is steep.
The plunge spa pool was a great refresher and the small pool in the creek was nice and cool.
Jacob our host was welcoming, friendly and informative.
Would definitely stay again!

Great place! Just a few minutes from the Blue Mountains. We chose this spot because we spent the morning exploring and wanted somewhere close to relax, watch the sunset, and unwind and it was perfect. We absolutely loved it.
What I liked the most was the amount of space. The sites are very well spaced out, so you really get privacy. Each site has its own fire pit, and the hosts provide firewood, with the option to buy it from them or collect it yourself, which we thought was a fun little adventure.
They also have the most beautiful and friendly dogs! Michelle was incredibly attentive and welcoming, never rushed us with timing, and we were lucky enough to try her homemade garlic scones and garlic jam from the farm, they were absolutely delicious.
Even though the bathrooms are composting toilets (with sawdust), they were spotless and honestly felt hotel-level, with neatly folded towels and thoughtful amenities.
Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again!

The old Bara farm is absolutely beautiful, stunning views, cute little creek, all campsites are in close quarters to a toilet block, the hosts are amazing, so kind and patient.
