On the hills of Peronne we graze Merino sheep amongst native bushland, open grasslands and along flowing creeks. We have some spectacular waterfalls and stunning views across the central tablelands. Areas set aside for bush regeneration provide habitat for native animals including wallabies, wombats, gang-gang cockatoos and wedge tail eagles. You might be lucky enough to spot a koala too. We have walking/mountain bike trails, creeks for paddling in and beautiful scenery.Camp beside the picturesque Cheshire Creek or tuck in near the shelter of a rocky outcrop. You’ll be the only guests on the farm, so the creek, bushwalks, and starry skies are yours alone to enjoy. Spend your days paddling in the pristine creek, spotting local wildlife, and soaking in the native bush. As night falls, gather around the campfire and marvel at the stunning night sky. Feeling adventurous? Try your luck panning for gold with the provided pans, or cast a line and see what bites. Or you may like to embark on a 3km bushwalk across open paddocks and into native bushland to discover a spectacular ephemeral waterfall; an enchanting sight that flows only after rain, making each visit unique. For those craving more, add a 2km loop to reach a mountain-top lookout with sweeping views across the Central Tablelands, including iconic landmarks like Mt Panorama/Wahluu and Mt Canobolas/Gaanha Bula. It’s the perfect spot for sunrise, sunset, or simply soaking in the serenity. The site accommodates tents and small camper trailers. Please note: access is tight and AWD is essential if towing. AWD is also recommended during or after wet weather, as the track includes slippery and inclined sections. We’re love our pristine creek—please help us keep it that way. Bring your own loo, or if you don’t have one, be sure to add a hire loo in the extras section below.

Absolutely loved our stay! The place was beautiful and private which we loved as it was just us girls for this trip. Michael came and said hello and made sure we had everything we needed. We went for a walk to the waterfall unfortunately it was dry with no water at this time of year (October) but was still a beautiful trek. On the last day we had a flat tire, Michael and his son was so helpful with helping us fix it so we were safe for the long drive home. Plenty of fire wood was available which was also a bonus. The creek is lovely, had a little swim and the view from a little up the hill was even more stunning!! Thank you for having us we can’t wait to come again.

We had such a great stay at Cheshire Creek, right by the crystal clear creek! Michael was an incredibly friendly and welcoming host who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. He had a huge amount of firewood cut up and ready for us, along with safety equipment in place, such a thoughtful and organised touch. The property itself was beautiful, peaceful, spacious, and well maintained, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. We couldn’t have asked for a better host or spot to unwind. We will definitely be back again! Thank you, Michael 🤩🤩🤩🤩

My daughter and I loved camping in Michael’s farm in Peronne. The spot was absolutely beautiful and we didn’t see or hear another person (other than a nice courtesy drop-in from Michael to welcome us). When we arrived the fire pit was already prepared as well as a healthy pile of firewood to get us through the night. I’d go back for a visit anytime 😊

The campsite is easily accessed, really clean and a great place to hang out. Michael is a terrific host and really wants to make sure campers are happy. He has some great farming knowledge to share for those interested! My third time there. I’ll be back.

Absolutely stunning camp-site, secluded and quiet. Easy to access. Loved the camp fire Michael had set up and the table was a real help. Lots to explore, great walking tracks with a map provided. Really loved visiting this beautiful spot!

Michael was a great host, not only supplied firewood, walking maps and an emergency beacon - but he was also very patient as I got lost trying to find the campsite on the property (my fault for not reading the instructions properly). Great spot by the water and sensational stargazing. Would highly recommend this Hipcamp

What a beautiful Hipcamp. Very peaceful by a little creek. Beautiful views from the campsite and even better on the walks. Michael supplies firewood which is a bonus. Nothing beats sitting around the campfire and admiring the stars. Great Hipcamp and would definitely be back. Michael is a great host! Thanks for having us!

Perfect camping spot. Flat ground on the creek with total privacy being only 1 site. Real camping with no amenities but that’s what we love. Michael is a great bloke and host. Supplied firewood was great. Took 2 large carp from the creek and will be back for some of the rainbow trout fingerlings we saw. Didn’t quite make my retirement with the gold panning - maybe next time. Hopefully see some good rain very soon - desperately needed. We’ll be back.

Gosh I love that campsite. Sunrises over the hill on one side and sunsets on the other. Thanks for being such a great host again Michael. The access to the site is so easy, and thanks for mowing the grass and providing firewood. Looking forward to the next time.

We had a great time camping here. The directions were clear and the space is very roomy, with the added bonus of having the entire place to ourselves. The creek was great for our young children to explore and cool off on a hot day. Michael is a great host and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Beautiful little spot, very secluded and private. Awesome views of the hill and a great hike if you’re up for the challenge. Only carp in the creek but still lots of fun to catch. Would definitely recommend this camp and will for sure be back.

Excellent private grassy campsite. Open to the sky for lots of sun in winter, lots of shallow creek to cool in during summer. Clean and clear site and water, and excellent directions and communication from the owners. There are lots of walks to do around the property, and the historic towns of Sofala and Hill End nearby. A top campsite! 4wd essential and smaller camp setup suitable. (Not for large vans).

Beautiful site right by the creek. Close drive to Bathurst however you wouldn’t even know as the site is surrounded by hills and far enough from the road to avoid sounds of traffic.

We love the place; very tranquil and secluded. It’s quiet, with no other campers, where you can relax and enjoy the spot without any disturbances. It’s clean and stunning. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back for more.

Beautiful private place to stay. Michael was a pleasure to deal with and instructions were really clear. We stayed as a group of two families and everyone had a great time. The kids had fun swimming and finding yabbies, frogs and fish in the creek. We even came across a shingleback! Access into the site is a little tight however we managed to get our 13ft camper in without any issues.

I loved staying here on Michael’s land. He communicated really well as soon as I booked and gave very clear directions on how to get there. The campsite was very private and being a solo female camper I felt very safe. Michael dropped in to say hi and was very welcoming. Would definitely recommend this stay.

We loved our stay at Michael’s Peronne camp. It was the perfect location for our family to get away from the city and the perfect end to school holidays. The camp site is easily accessible (we have a Kluger AWD) yet completely private. Having the site right next to the creek was idyllic and the kids played and fossicked for hours recreating their favourite Bluey episode in the real world, sending ‘Barky Boats’ down the creek rapids. The water was clear and had some great spots for swimming. They loved running and riding their bikes down the small track leading into camp. The picnic table was a very appreciated addition to the spot for prep and eating. Thank you for sharing your beautiful land with us. Highly recommend!

Great little spot that my Wife and I really enjoyed staying at, Michael has done a great job of making sure everything is catered for including fireplace, firewood, an old school wooden picnic table made out of local heritage wood and the meandering creek was great to cool off in on a very warm summers day. If you like hiking I also recommend following the provided map up to the lookout but be warned it is a steep climb (there is also a provided PLB just in case)

Really enjoyed spending time in a picturesque, private location by the creek. Lots of wild life, colourful birds and tranquility. The falls was a sight to be seen although not flowing much at the time… the surrounding landscape was magnificent. It was nice and interesting to catch up with Michael to talk about his passion for agriculture and share history of the area and his property. Oh and the large solid table and bench at the campsite was a nice touch. Thanks Michael for a rejuvenating weekend.

We loved the Peronne Farm camp site, also called Cheshire Creek camp site. Easy access and a great level area to pitch the tent under a large casuarina tree. The kids loved fishing the carp out of the stream and we tried our hand at panning for some gold flakes. A couple of deeper sections of the stream were great for swimming. Thanks for the fire wood Michael and great to talk farming with you. We’ll be back there for sure.

Really loved our stay. Was easy to find and access to camp site with my 2wd Nissan Navara with a trailer was easy. Had the place to ourselves, It was a lovely property with good walking tracks and nice views. Got to see some nice wildlife including foxes, rabbits, goats and obviously sheep. Also a tortoise in the creek. Would definitely stay again.
