Absolutely loved this campsite – a solid 10/10! It was incredibly private with stunning views. We even had cows wander through our paddock, which made it feel so peaceful and unique. The swing, fire pit, and table were fantastic touches that made the stay even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Beautiful private spot, plenty of cleared space Stunning sunsets and views to all sides from the site Very private and quiet with some beautiful bird life and plenty of kangaroos around Drop toilet was quite fine and no smell, but a very basic amenity, nice to have right near your site though and is only for your site Large table to use and fire pit are both well located and a great addition , however there is little to no wood , so def byo firewood if staying in winter The entrance into the site was quite tricky at the beginning of the dirt road with our van due to a large pile of gravel in the middle of the road which forced us to detour around and the drop off caused us to bottom out, this also happened a little further along the track as you go across the dam section , was ok with a 4wd and small van but could be tricky with 2wd vehicle and/or a bigger van , I don’t think I would try this in a normal vehicle looks to be temporary, obviously doing some work to the road/area Overall a lovely couple of nights

Weekend Trip to Farmily Land

It is such a scenic place to stay and the location is actually quite convenient if you need a quick trip to a nearby supermarket to re-stock. We went there probably in the worst weather with pouring rain and strong wind. The owner came over several times over the stay, asked if we needed anything and make sure we were alright. The farm dog was super friendly and lovely. I would definitely come back when the weather is good.

We had a lovely stay – such a peaceful and beautiful location! The tent was cosy and very comfortable for two adults. It was a bit of a squeeze with kids, but we made it work and they absolutely loved collecting wood and exploring the area. The space was clean, and the beds were great – warm and inviting after a day outside. There’s a grill over the firepit and plenty of wood around to collect, which made for great family fun. Do note that there’s no cooking equipment or seating, so we recommend bringing your own table, chairs, and kitchen/eating gear. Also, if you’re staying in cooler weather, bring a few extra blankets. A lovely glamping experience overall. Thanks for having us!

This was the perfect country camping escape. Large sites that can easily fit 3-4 large caravans each site comes with a large fire pit and picnic table. You can collect wood from the forest and dotted wood piles on the property open to campers. They have toilets and adding more for your convenience. Amazing spot. Such a nice view and we loved being able to have a fire on a cold winters night. Sunrise over the trees was also stunning. Host is very welcoming and their dogs are beautiful. Was a great space. Our dogs loved being there too. Thanks for having us

1 night at Farmily Land

We had an amazing stay at this place. Despite booking just 15 minutes before arriving, the host knew we were coming, making navigation to the site easy and hassle free. Our tent had a beautiful water view, and we were thrilled to find a firepit with plenty of fallen branches to use as firewood. The host was kind enough to welcome some of our friends for a short visit without any hesitation, which was greatly appreciated. One of the most unforgettable moments was witnessing the aurora and the galaxy for the under a perfectly clear sky an experience beyond words. In the morning, we enjoyed interacting with the ducks and alpacas, adding a wonderful touch to our stay. The toilets were impressively clean, making the camping experience all the more comfortable. Overall, a fantastic place with a thoughtful and accommodating host. Highly recommend!

Yifu was great, and the site is amazing. Great hosts who made sure we were well placed for a long weekend. It was lovely to be invited up to see all the baby animals, and the egg deliveries both mornings was a brilliant surprise. Toilets are great. There is Telstra reception. And it's 25 minutes from Gungahlin. Not the most private campsite during the day, but there is plenty of space so it doesn't matter and we weren't interrupted by anyone else. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Joadja Gorge Retreat & Camping

We had a lovely stay at the Wali Gnana site for 2 nights. The site was tucked around the corner with plenty of bush to make it feel private. Plenty of wood to collect in the area + a wood pile to make a good fire. Leanna kindly let me use the wheelbarrow to collect which made it a lot easier. Highly recommend walking down to the gorge lookouts early morning (and day) which is an easy stroll with a little down hill (and back up). The fog fully fills the gorge in the morning and was incredible to stand and listen to the birds and running water. There is also a walk through yeh gate at the site into the bush which can go down to the gorge I believe. May be wrong about that but we just walked the flat section which was great. It’s a very peaceful and quiet place with lots of nature to listen to and stars to see. Will be back for sure.

A wonderful camp to spend the night! This was the first time taking our new puppy camping and we couldn't have had a better spot. The campsite was beautiful and felt super private so he wasn't overwhelmed. The amenities were great, and the walks were interesting but not too long.

The Hermitage

The Hermitage is an untouched heavily-wooded property, nestled on the banks of the Abercrombie River. The campsites are shared with kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, deer, and of course turtles and fish in the river. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure walk including the Blue Mountains National Park to the south of the river. The Abercrombie River is known for gold and gemstones, so if you're into panning, there's some good spots along the river. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting, please check local information before lighting) within the designated areas. Please only place combustible items in the fire. Bottles, cans, wipes etc do not burn and any items remaining in the fire may incur a clean up fee. Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Using nearby rocks to surround your fire is not advisable. Despite their smooth appearance, they may harbour significant moisture and can be highly explosive when heated in a fire pit or campfire. River rock is also usually pretty easy to obtain, so it seems like a quick and easy solution. However, it has a high tendency to explode, so we suggest you avoid it at all costs. Pets are welcome for a one-off fee per animal. Please ensure you remove all trash and evidence of your stay when you depart. If you arrive and find litter, we would personally appreciate it if you could find room for it in your rubbish collection. Please take photos of your arrival if you find something and forward it on to us so we can follow up. We are in the early stages of our Hipcamp journey and there are plans to make for a much more enjoyable experience. All monies will be re-invested into facilities. There is no mobile reception at this location. There are no toilets at this location (yet). Please come prepared. For the kids, we have our newly finished aquatic centre with splash park, and two bmx pump tracks and skate parks. We are located a short 20min drive to "Rambo" the big ram, which is on the list of big things located within Australia. Walk to the top and experience the local sheep industry history as well as shop local produce and giftware. Located a 20min drive west to the beautiful country towns of Crookwell and Taralga, where you can find country pubs, boutique eateries and shops or why not visit Taralga wildlife park for your up close encounter with some animals. Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads at ALL times as this is a working farm and protecting our wildlife is priorty. You MUST bring your own camping toilet and be COMPLETELY 100% self sufficient with everything including drinking water. We have a Leave No Trace policy, so ask that you please take all waste with you as we dont have a bin service. Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, put in watering infrastructure and built our house which we finally moved in when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity and food. If your lucky you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity you will find that in the mornings and evenings kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbit and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a firepit, drinking water and a camp kitchen. The firepit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow for your pets to stay onsite, this also includes horses. We are clearing some ground for grazing cattle while letting some regrowth come through for the wildlife. We have plenty of kangaroos, possums, wombats just to name a few and an abundance of birdlife. We have multiple options for campers. COMFORT CAMP Our comfort camp has an an undercover BBQ area with seating, a built-in fireplace and gas BBQ. There is also a proper flushing toilet and hot/cold shower, solar lighting and USB charging port. QUICK CAMPS We also have 5 Quick Camp spaces for those self-sufficient campers who want to get away from it all in a quiet neck-of-the-woods. You'll be surrounded by peace and quiet to pull up the van, pitch the tent or roll out the swag. At night, sit and listen to the sounds of silence as you glance up to the stars. This spot feels a world away but still has the convenience of being only 10 minutes off the Hume Hwy and only 20 minutes from Goulburn where you can get all your daily needs. There is plenty of firewood laying around the property for the campfire so bring your saw, cut some wood, and just enjoy. No firewood is to be taken off the property. Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, put in watering infrastructure and built our house which we finally moved in when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity and food. If your lucky you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity you will find that in the mornings and evenings kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbit and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a firepit, drinking water and a camp kitchen. The firepit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow for your pets to stay onsite, this also includes horses.
