One of Australia's two aquatic mammals, the platypus being the other.
This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. IF NO CHEMICAL TOILET, DIG A HOLE AT LEAST 30CM DEEP .
There is access to a drinking water supply (mountain river water), or you can bring your own water. After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking.
You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing.
Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp.
Kids aged 16 and under camp for free.
There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats.
Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline.
There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. Please note that we have very limited reception service for mobiles, so let's communicate via messages before you arrive in our area.
I can provide a camping setup if you need extra bedding or you don't have any camping equipment or tent.

You have a choice of two shipping containers, both furnished with a double bed. As well as two campsites to pitch your own tent, on a flat grassy area near the converted shipping containers.
A shared toilet and hot shower is located 80m from the accommodation. You will have access to drinking water if required.
Please also note:
- Arriving time is strictly between 2pm and no later than 8pm at night .
- Checking out time is 12 pm.
- The driveway from the highway to the site is a gravel road suitable for 2WD however please drive according to conditions
- The site is located near the farm sheds, whilst we will respect your privacy you will be staying on a working farm consequently some movement and noise will not be avoidable between 8am and dark.
- You are welcome to try your luck fishing in the dam or if you have a kayak and life jacket you can bring for a paddle, however please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children.
- We provide firewood at an extra cost of $20/bundle
- As there is no council bin service available we ask that you take your rubbish with you.
- Full telephone signal available for Telstra, however, any other provider is patchy.
- Please note that there are farm dogs on the property, and no other pets are allowed.

Millwood is located 6kms from COOMA n.s.w. in the Snowy Mountains Region and is within easy reach to a number of great locations. It is about 90 minutes from Canberra, just over an hour from Thredbo and Perisher and Mt Selwyn snowfields and 1.5 hours from all the beautiful beaches that the South Coast has to offer. A short drive of under 7 minutes takes you to the Murrumbidgee River on a sealed council road. There is a flat grassed picnic area and council gas run b-bques under cover.
You may find internet and mobile not fully covered here. I have a mobile that I use which works well depending where I stand.
Now has 3 adjacent camp sites available. If not booked by others its a quiet spot amongst a bush setting. also offers an RV site. You can relax around your firepit and enjoy watching the beautiful wildlife that come to visit the property including Kangaroos, Wombats and a variety of native birds.
The host runs a Day Spa from her home so you may like to treat yourself to some self care. Please check with host as to availability of Spa Treatments.
Why not check out our outdoor clawfoot bath during your stay. It's an amazing experience under the stars!
Tank water is available but please use sparingly. The surrounding region is hugely popular for cyclists and bushwalkers with many great tracks available to explore. Mt Gladstone now has a popular track and Iread there are plans for a big upgrade. There is a lookout at the top and can recommend Miss Heides Austrian Restaurent. Amazing authentic home cooked bavarian meals in a rustic log cabin with a fireplace. The Murrumbidgee River is just about 4 klms away, where you can enjoy a picnic along it's banks and take a dip if it's warm enough.
We prefer campers who are fully self contained. Campers must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. There is an outside basic toilet that is a compost type with sawdust and is cleaned regularly.
No pets please as we have a wildlife corridor here. * I am considering quiet well behaved pets for campers but not in the bush hut. Will verify soon*.

We are using technology to create energy and resource efficient accommodation.
Our 2 bedroom spacious cottages are spread out on our 30ac Snow Gum Parklands. Each cottage is private with plenty of area to expand and relax. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hotplates and micro wave. There is a bath room with shower and toilet with another separate toilet and drying room.
We are only 2klm to the centre of town but it may as well be 100klm away as there is many native animals and flora and no neighbours.
We are located next to Jindabyne Airstrip. There are very few flights in and out of the airstrip which is a real novelty if you see an aircraft.
Our unique cottages are powered by solar power with no grid connect and use rain water that falls on site. All our linen is washed in spring water by on site solar power and dried by wind and sunlight which is a huge saving to the environment.
Our cottages are constructed using local granite so they can blend into the environment. The new cottages are built to be insulated from the Winter cold and the Summer heat. Double glazed and double insulated cottages which are orientated to make the use of the Sun where the hot summer Sun does not enter the cottages and in Winter the Sun flows in to keep the cottages warm.
In Winter with the use of a wood fired heater the cottages stay toasty warm and if not regulated properly can get quiet hot. Our Snow Gum woodland environment supports native birds and animals which come and go as they please.

There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats.
Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline.
There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. Please note that we have very limited reception service for mobiles, so let's communicate via messages before you arrive in our area.

- You are welcome to try your luck fishing in the dam or if you have a kayak and life jacket you can bring for a paddle, however please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children.

Tank water is available but please use sparingly. The surrounding region is hugely popular for cyclists and bushwalkers with many great tracks available to explore. Mt Gladstone now has a popular track and Iread there are plans for a big upgrade. There is a lookout at the top and can recommend Miss Heides Austrian Restaurent. Amazing authentic home cooked bavarian meals in a rustic log cabin with a fireplace. The Murrumbidgee River is just about 4 klms away, where you can enjoy a picnic along it's banks and take a dip if it's warm enough.
We prefer campers who are fully self contained. Campers must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. There is an outside basic toilet that is a compost type with sawdust and is cleaned regularly.
No pets please as we have a wildlife corridor here. * I am considering quiet well behaved pets for campers but not in the bush hut. Will verify soon*.

We are using technology to create energy and resource efficient accommodation.
Our 2 bedroom spacious cottages are spread out on our 30ac Snow Gum Parklands. Each cottage is private with plenty of area to expand and relax. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hotplates and micro wave. There is a bath room with shower and toilet with another separate toilet and drying room.
We are only 2klm to the centre of town but it may as well be 100klm away as there is many native animals and flora and no neighbours.
We are located next to Jindabyne Airstrip. There are very few flights in and out of the airstrip which is a real novelty if you see an aircraft.
Our unique cottages are powered by solar power with no grid connect and use rain water that falls on site. All our linen is washed in spring water by on site solar power and dried by wind and sunlight which is a huge saving to the environment.
Our cottages are constructed using local granite so they can blend into the environment. The new cottages are built to be insulated from the Winter cold and the Summer heat. Double glazed and double insulated cottages which are orientated to make the use of the Sun where the hot summer Sun does not enter the cottages and in Winter the Sun flows in to keep the cottages warm.
In Winter with the use of a wood fired heater the cottages stay toasty warm and if not regulated properly can get quiet hot. Our Snow Gum woodland environment supports native birds and animals which come and go as they please.

Another year, another glorious summer holiday at Tuross River Camping. This year we went for a hike down river and found some more beautiful swimming spots. We even saw a turtle! This place has it all — running water, flush toilets, hot showers (but honestly after a day swimming in the Tuross, who needs them?) and a brilliant sheltered camp kitchen. The roads were in good condition getting in and when the toilets needed resetting, Dwayne took our call (via Starlink thank you very much) and was super helpful. We love this place and we'll be back again next year. Also, a stop at Bodalla on the way home is always fun (pub lunch, the dairy and art gallery are great).

The location was beautiful and I ended up staying on site 2, which I really enjoyed. Both sites have great views and are in walking distance of each other anyway. Well worth waking up early on a clear night, no light pollution spoiling the starry sky above!

I loved this beautiful spot that Norm and his wife have put together. The outdoor bath (with bubbles provided), the view, the peace and quiet, AND getting to have my dog with me, is just incredible. Highly recommend taking the effort to come here, it's absolutely worth it.

We had a brilliant time here. The campsite offers a wonderful atmosphere and everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s quiet, scenic, and very well-kept. The host was also very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in this part of the country!

Camping at Norm's Dairy Farm was excellent! Great location and view - loved the hills around, the sunsets and sunrises, the birdsong in the morning, the visiting cows in the day. Great facilities - including flushing toilet, showers, bath, kitchen, water, power to charge phones, and more. A lot of thought has gone into it. Norm was lovely - friendly and welcoming. All in all, it felt like a privilege to stay on a farm and have a little insight into farm life. Thanks heaps Norm. (Appreciated too that we could bring our dog.)
