Just outside Jindabyne, this secluded site is perfect for a family getaway with just you and your friends.
We have beautiful rural block in the high country of NSW. Comprising around 50 acres with around 10 of those being cleared paddock and the balance of bush land.
20 mins drive south from Jindabyne, the land starts at 1250m where our two dams are sited, with the top of the land at 1400m as you wind you’re way through the bush tracks that traverse through the property.
The upper dam has been stocked with brook trout making for fun fishing with kids.

You need to be a self-contained camper with your own camping toilet/shower. The campsite has access to drinking water. No bins here please take your rubbish with you.
Enjoy hanging around the campfire, cooking a meal or toasting marshmallows. We have firewood available.
You dont need a 4WD to access the campsite. Vehicle and tent campers welcome. We are located about 30 minutes to the coast and the township of Bermagui. It's a good spot for fishing, prospecting, swimming, cafes and adventures, and you can get all the supplies you need in town.

The kids will love playing in the Shoalhaven River (1km from property) where the rocks are ever changing as they are washed downstream. Wyanbene Caves are approx 6.5km away. Whilst you can enter the start of the cave, a permit is required for real cave exploration.
We are centrally located being 90km from Cooma (partially dirt), 140km from Canberra and 100km from the coast at Batemans Bay. The closes town of Braidwood is 45km away. It boasts an IGA, fuel, coffee shops, boutique stores and lots more.
We are at an elevation of between 700-800m so it can be quite chilly at night.
Never mind, a sit round the fire pit will warm you up before bed. BYO firewood. There's plenty of kindling you can collect yourself in close proximity to camp areas.
Being in the country, there are some creatures about that you may not want to encounter but need to be aware of.
Snakes - black, brown, tiger, death adder. Keep your eyes open and wear boots or covered shoes. Not often seen in open paddocks. Hibernate during winter.
Feral: Pigs, Dogs, Deer, Rabbits, Foxes (mostly unseen but leave their evidence around)
Whilst you may bring your pets with you, they must be kept on leash at all times as neighbouring properties run livestock.
There is 2km of good dirt road once you leave the sealed (but potholed at time of writing) Cooma Rd. You will need to cross the Shoalhaven River over a concrete causeway that is mostly dry. However, after heavy rain, the causeway can become flooded and impassable. Whilst this can be a little unpredictable for booking in advance, a full refund will be provided should your booking require cancellation due to flooding.
Please bring your own potable water and your own toilet.
Camp sites are continually being improved so please check out new campsites and facilities if you are rebooking for a future stay.

Erik’s property was just lovely. Natural, unspoilt elevated Bushland, carefully mown walking track and lots of wombat holes and wild deer on the property . Two large dams and beautiful wildflowers. We thank Erik for making his property available to us as travellers.
This was our first ( and probably last) HipCamp booking as long term, off grid travelers.
I could not get any transparency or clarity around booking fees, until we had committed and the site fees transpired as double those suggested, as possible nightly rates on the “world class” ( their language, not mine) hip camps app.
Erik was respectful and very responsive to any of my messages. All the best Erik.

We loved camping at the Wombat Farm, despite being a holiday period we had the place to ourselves and didn't see another person during our stay. Lots of beautiful wildlife and had a very relaxing trip. Erik even cut out some walking trails for us which we really enjoyed!

Extremely private, whole property to ourselves. We had a group of 9 and plenty of room! Spot next the the damn was gorgeous, the stars were so clear and the sound of the frogs was just spectacular. The bush walks around the property were so pretty and rugged, really showing off the mountain landscape! The sunset from the back fence of the property is a must! Very close to Jindabyne and all the shops there. And the in the other direction the Snowy River was a short drive too. We stayed for 7 nights and easily couldve stayed longer! Highly recommend.

A great location when touring the South Coast region.
Situated near Braidwood gives great access to the Deua National Park and surrounding areas.
Campsite is great for caravans and the like. The area is quiet and relaxing. If there are other campers on-site during your stay you will unfortunately see them as there aren't too many trees to give privacy or shelter when the wind is up.
Hosts are very friendly and accommodating.
Firewood on-site however if you need more you will have to venture out to collect.
All in all it is a great property for base camp when touring the area.

We booked a powered site (#5) and stayed in our own campervan. The site itself was on a slope which made it a bit challenging to level off. They have bbq facilities, toilets and heated showers, laundry, dry room, family room with a bath, communal fire pits around the property and a boat ramp. They are dog friendly as well.
The lake is at 40% capacity at the moment and you can see how far the water had retreated. The views are amazing and it was lovely to learn a bit about the local history. Lots of great fishing spots as well as walking spots

We loved setting up camp on the edge of the dam watching and listening to birds and frogs into the night. Beautiful surroundings and contains a huge bushland area we would explore next time with bikes.
Handy hints: You can take water from the dam to your camp site for washing up but bring enough drinking water with you. There's also plenty of fire wood on site for the 2 fire pits but you need your own axe and equipment for fire cooking.
We thoroughly recommend staying at the Wombat farm.
