In addition to the riverside campsites we have a larger campsite on the top of "Billygoat Hill" able to accommodate up to 20 plus people and 6 vans or tents. This campsite is known as "Billygoat Hill" and would be great for a either romantic couple who would love to sit by the campfire as the sun sets in the west; or alternatively it can accommodate a large group of campers who can enjoy their fun times, bushwalking, and a short drive (or walk) to the river (approx 800m) for fishing or a swim. Campfires are permitted if no RFS restrictions apply. You are welcome to gather firewood from the surrounding bush, but please do not use chainsaws. The property is located 25 minutes from Bathurst and provides access to Orange and Hill End for the keen explorer!

The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River. Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature. The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river. We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location. We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too. We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look. From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo.

Our property is in Evans Plains, just 15km from Bathurst. We have a number of large grassy sites available with plenty of space and privacy for everyone. The property has an abundance of wildlife, with a Koala colony, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wombats, Echidnas, Platypus (rarely seen), Parrots, Eagles, and possums for those who enjoy wildlife watching you will be spoilt for choice. Evans Plains Creek also contains alluvial gold which results in the area being very popular for gold panning. Bathurst Mt. Panorama racetrack is 15 km east of the property. The Bathurst goldfields can also be found at the mount. The rural gold mining town of Sofala (Australia's oldest surviving gold town) is 60km north on all sealed roads. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash so that they do not disturb livestock or native animals. Campfires are allowed but campers must bring their own fire pit if they would like a fire. Only fallen wood on the ground may be collected. Campers must also have their own camping toilet and take all waste/rubbish with them on departure. There are no designated campsites within the 145 hectares (360 acres) campground.

Wendouree is owned by the Hood family who operate a mixed farming enterprise on Wendouree, and neighbouring properties Glenora and Cherry Gardens. The Wendouree Creek Paddock mostly remains unused but may have stray sheep on it from time-to-time. The property has been owned and operated by the Cunich / Hood family for five generations.

Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We also back on to the Dananbilla national park which is 35 square kilometres. A running spring fed creek with yabbies and watercress and small water hole in creek for a dip with small water fall. We back on to 35 square kms of national park called Dananbilla. You can see kangaroos, wallaby, wombat and if lucky akidna , goanna , lace monitor and many varieties of birds. Great cell phone service with optus and telstra but not Vodafone. Can charge your phone ,just bring your lead and power plug. Plenty of firewood for your stay from fallen dead branches. The mountain has the origional trig station for the area on top from early 1800s with beautifull views. We are Marilyn and Peter, we own, live and run a mixed farming business from this beautiful land, located in the Central Tablelands NSW. The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it. The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax. The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River. Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature. The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river. We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location. We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too. We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look. From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo.

Our property is in Evans Plains, just 15km from Bathurst. We have a number of large grassy sites available with plenty of space and privacy for everyone. The property has an abundance of wildlife, with a Koala colony, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wombats, Echidnas, Platypus (rarely seen), Parrots, Eagles, and possums for those who enjoy wildlife watching you will be spoilt for choice. Evans Plains Creek also contains alluvial gold which results in the area being very popular for gold panning. Bathurst Mt. Panorama racetrack is 15 km east of the property. The Bathurst goldfields can also be found at the mount. The rural gold mining town of Sofala (Australia's oldest surviving gold town) is 60km north on all sealed roads. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash so that they do not disturb livestock or native animals. Campfires are allowed but campers must bring their own fire pit if they would like a fire. Only fallen wood on the ground may be collected. Campers must also have their own camping toilet and take all waste/rubbish with them on departure. There are no designated campsites within the 145 hectares (360 acres) campground.

We run Bissy's Permaculture Cafe in town and any guest who books and stays at our place is entitled to one free coffee per person - see us on arrival. :)

It’s a place where time stands still. Enabling you to reconnect with nature as you slow down and embrace the sounds of the river, wildlife and sheoaks when they ‘whisper secrets to the wind’. Many stories and dreamings have come from this place which guarantees to inspire your imagination as an artist, writer, poet or musician. You have access to 100 acres of bushland or enjoy a walk along Killongbutta Road which winds its way through spectacular Wiradjuri country where ancient stone quarries, corroboree sites and a warrior’s grave have been found. Platypus, water dragons and river rats all live in the river. Be prepared to share the site with wombats who have burrowed their homes into the banks. Road access to site is suitable for 2WD in dry weather. It is a short, steep drop with two tight corners not suitable for large caravans and RVs. The site has a newly constructed long drop toilet, pets are allowed and firewood is supplied. Please take all rubbish with you. Please note: Kids under 12 are free to support young families wanting to experience the bush. Please still add them to the booking as they will not be charged. What is not allowed: shooters and trappers, illegal fishing, motor bikes, quad bikes, chainsaws, and other noisy machines! Killongbutta Road runs off Freemantle Road and is 36 kms from Bathurst. It is 40 kilometres from Orange through Gowan Road that joins Lower Lewis Ponds Road. For your information, On the Stone is a podcast and publishing studio that produces a quarterly magazine for the Freemantle Road community. We have local history to share and can always provide information about our services. We look forward to providing exclusive access to our river site for campers who will appreciate and respect this place which is our home.
