This unique abode, has a relaxed feel on a 5 acre property, close to the Byron town (only 13kms) but far enough away to enjoy the solitude the hinterlands offers with access to wide open fresh air.
It consists of a 1964 original vintage caravan, with an open-plan living/dining area, a gorgeous industrial-style bathroom, with a glass ceiling for star gazing & an outdoor fire-pit.
The open air living allows guests to feel 100% connected to the natural environment, while at the same time having access to reliable, fast internet along with the comforts of a hot shower, flush loo etc. It is an ideal way to capture the restored feeling from remote camping, without the hassle of taking all your camping gear.
Sleeping arrangements: We have a custom-made inner spring mattress that is an unusual size due to the vintage age of the vintage caravan & therefore the size, is in between a King-single & double size width & a queen-size length (which may or may not be big enough for 2 people depending on your sleeping expectations). The actual measurements are: 1.13M wide & 2M long. There is also a separate king single-size bed, on the other side of the caravan, suitable for another adult, a child or two small children.
All linen and bath towels etc are provided. The caravan is cosy, with a TV, stereo, fridge, sink, wardrobe & storage space.
The property is not far from the beautiful bathhouses of Mullumbimby too ie Kiva Spa & Banya bathhouse
We are a pet-friendly property. If you wish to bring your friendly pet, they are welcome, but we charge a fee of $25 . Please select that you have a pet when making your booking. We also request that you kindly ensure that your pet does not go inside the caravan or on any of the furniture including the bed, lounge etc. If there is dog hair in the van or on the couch we may need to charge an extra cleaning fee.

Over one kilometre of "Rocky Creek" runs through the Pecan Fields camp area, providing gorgeous waterholes for swimming, walks and great water front sites to set up camp for the weekend! You can even see Platypus in the early mornings, playing in the creek. All of the camp areas are easily access-able and flat, usually 2wd car is all you need. Cycling is popular in the area but you will need to be keen and fit as there are a lot of hills!
We ask that you would treat our property as well or better than your own and expect our guests to be quiet, well-behaved, and environmentally aware of our sustainable and very quiet rural lifestyle.
Please note this is NOT a 'party' site. We are designated 'Land for Wildlife' and so most suited to those who seek peace and quiet.
Owing to the terrain, this property is not suitable for children, but adults are welcome to wander around the beautiful gardens.

5km from the beautiful village of Uki. Uki is a place where community spirit hums. Village markets every Saturday selling local foods and crafts. The Old buttery offers ‘the Uki Buttery Bazaar Market’ on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
Don’t forget to pop into the Uki Trading Post (Bastion Lane) for the Best coffee in Australia. The Mt Warning Hotel situated in Uki Village also offers all meals as takeaways and a complementary curtesy bus running from Friday 5PM through to Sunday. Stock up on supplies at the village General Store.
Pet welcome on leash and under control. Campfires are permitted within local regulations.

This unique abode, has a relaxed feel on a 5 acre property, close to the Byron town (only 13kms) but far enough away to enjoy the solitude the hinterlands offers with access to wide open fresh air.
It consists of a 1964 original vintage caravan, with an open-plan living/dining area, a gorgeous industrial-style bathroom, with a glass ceiling for star gazing & an outdoor fire-pit.
The open air living allows guests to feel 100% connected to the natural environment, while at the same time having access to reliable, fast internet along with the comforts of a hot shower, flush loo etc. It is an ideal way to capture the restored feeling from remote camping, without the hassle of taking all your camping gear.
Sleeping arrangements: We have a custom-made inner spring mattress that is an unusual size due to the vintage age of the vintage caravan & therefore the size, is in between a King-single & double size width & a queen-size length (which may or may not be big enough for 2 people depending on your sleeping expectations). The actual measurements are: 1.13M wide & 2M long. There is also a separate king single-size bed, on the other side of the caravan, suitable for another adult, a child or two small children.
All linen and bath towels etc are provided. The caravan is cosy, with a TV, stereo, fridge, sink, wardrobe & storage space.
The property is not far from the beautiful bathhouses of Mullumbimby too ie Kiva Spa & Banya bathhouse
We are a pet-friendly property. If you wish to bring your friendly pet, they are welcome, but we charge a fee of $25 . Please select that you have a pet when making your booking. Don’t forget to pop into the Uki Trading Post (Bastion Lane) for the Best coffee in Australia. The Mt Warning Hotel situated in Uki Village also offers all meals as takeaways and a complementary curtesy bus running from Friday 5PM through to Sunday. Stock up on supplies at the village General Store.

Such a great spot! The property is beautiful; waking up to the sound of the birds and watching the cows in the morning was a great way to start the day. We had a lovely, shaded site right by the trees and access to the toilets was great.

I went with my wife and my dad. It.. was a bit too romantic for 3 of us lol. Definitely recommend it for couples more than family members. Still, my father loved it - he said he felt truly emerged in nature!

We had a wonderful three‑night stay. The adults, kids, and dogs all had a great time. It was so peaceful, and being close to the beach was a huge bonus too. Our toddler especially loved the little bush walk to Platypus Pocket. The views and the cows were a highlight too. A perfect family weekend.

Beautiful quiet spot right on the river, area was nice and large and we didn't hear any of the other campers. The tree swings are a fun way to relax and the entrance into the creek was easy. We would definitely go back.

We loved camping here, the sites are week spread which meant you didn’t hear any of your neighbours throughout the stay. The horses were friendly and didn’t mind having a munch of the grass around us. It’s a really beautiful and peaceful spot. Well looked after property.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay on the creek. We had a lovely dip near the causeway where it was a little deeper , and at night we saw catfish and an eel in the creek below our camp. We had the whole paddock to ourselves, away from other campers. The toilet was clean and well stocked with paper. Rowlands is a very relaxing environment to hang out in.

WOW!! Such a beautiful spot, so peaceful with an amazing sense of connection to nature. With cows, horses, bush turkeys and butterflies to keep us company. We chose the the far right camp which has easy access to the creek, shade, bathtub and a couple swings in the trees. We'll definitely be back.

When to go
Summer is warm and winter is mild, which helps ensure that fashionable Byron Bay is popular year round. It gets really busy during summer holidays, so make sure you book ahead. Byron’s also a hotspot during Schoolies Week (mid to late November) and is best left to the teenagers at this time. At Easter, Byron is home to the Byron Bay Bluesfest, one of the biggest blues festivals in the country. Winter, between June and October, is a great time to see whales.
Know before you go
- Cape Byron is mainland Australia’s most easterly point and being among the first in the country to see the sunrise from Byron lighthouse is a rite of passage for many young Australians, especially on New Years Eve.
- Alstonville disappears in a purple haze in autumn, when the Tibouchina trees that line the town's streets burst into bloom with big purple and mauve flowers.
- You never know what you’ll find at the weekend craft markets. Most stall holders move with the markets between Byron Bay, Nimbin, Bangalow and The Channon on alternate weekends. Visit https://www.byron-bay.com/byronbay/market.html for details.
- There’s no free camping in the town centre of Byron Bay. Don’t be tempted to sleep in your campervan in a beachside carpark, rangers can fine you up to AUD$2200 if you get caught.
