Welcome to a truly one-of-a-kind private property nestled deep within a secluded valley in the stunning Byron Bay hinterlands. If you're searching for genuine peace, quiet, and a deep connection with nature, this is it. Imagine this: you're at the very end of a quiet valley road, where The Hidden Gem offers absolute privacy. There are no noisy neighbours or distracting lights here – just the tranquil sounds of the Australian bush. Our spacious camping area features 10 private tent and campervan sites set on a beautiful open meadow. It backs directly onto a vast national park, giving you direct access to established hiking trails. These paths lead straight to the top of nearby waterfalls, offering breathtaking panoramic views overlooking the entire valley. Feel free to explore our expansive grounds; you're welcome to wander through them, and yes, you can definitely enjoy a small campfire under the stars at your own campsite. We've got 300 meters of pristine, year-round, spring-fed creek frontage, complete with a beautiful swimming hole that's just perfect for a refreshing dip. Beyond the creek, take a peaceful stroll through our serene spring-fed lotus pond or explore the productive lychee orchard when it's in season. And those waterfalls? You'll find three enchanting ones within just 500 meters of the property, showing off their beauty from various vantage points. Plus, the iconic Minyon Falls is only a short 10-minute drive away. Guests have access to a charming small settlers cottage, which includes a cozy lounge area, a convenient kitchenette, and a warming fireplace – perfect for those cooler evenings. Right next door, a large, covered deck with its own fireplace offers an inviting communal space for relaxation. For your convenience, we provide clean flushing toilets and hot showers. And for the ultimate relaxation, our rejuvenating wood-fired cedar sauna is available upon request for an additional fee. Just a heads-up, you'll need to supply your own firewood for it. Despite its profound sense of seclusion, The Hidden Gem is surprisingly easy to get to. We're located just 20 minutes from the charming village of Federal, 35 minutes from the vibrant town of Mullumbimby, and only 45 minutes from the the world-renowned beaches of Byron Bay.Secluded Rainforest Views Perched at the very top of our property, approximately 600m up a scenic gravel driveway from the creek, lies The Upper Meadow Campsite. Fresh Rainwater: A convenient tap providing fresh rainwater is centrally located in the meadow for all guests. Small Campfires Welcome: Enjoy your camping experience with your own small campfire under the stars at your site. Please remember to supply your own firewood. Shared Amenities (within 50-100m from your site): Just a short walk from the meadow, you'll have access to our inviting, solar-powered settlers cottage area. This communal hub includes: A kitchenette for your basic cooking needs. A cozy lounge with a fireplace. A large, covered deck with its own fireplace and views, perfect for relaxing and socializing. Clean flushing toilets and hot showers. A luxurious wood-fired, cedar-lined sauna, available upon request for an additional fee of $60 for up to 4 people. $15 per extra person. What a wonderful spot! We only stayed one night but will be back for a longer stay. Really well set up, a nice open area for a small number of campsites - great to build your own fire & chill. The communal cottage is a special feature offering toilets, showers, fireplace, extra shelter….well worth it. Host Villi was really lovely and friendly, entertaining our son’s enthusiasm for his lychee orchard and telling us a bit about his place. Such beautiful birdlife too.

So peaceful and quiet. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves for the night. Amenities very clean - had a centipede come out of the drain during my shower - all good, nature never far away ☺️ Really lovely space and Vili was very helpful and friendly. A swim in the creek below was also lovely and refreshing.

Nice campsite, most sites uneven but also some good ones. Nice to have private fire pit. Stayed New Year’s Eve, paid almost $200 for one night in his field, and the host came around bright and early in the morning harassing everyone about having more than 1 car. We booked for 4 people and had 2 cars. Weird obsession to have in a huge campground. Happy new year

Vili's property is stunning. Sites are well spaces apart. Amenities block is so modern and nice and the communal sitting area is so inviting - both of which are only a minute walk from the camp sites. Super close to Minyon falls. Vili is a super helpful friendly guy, thankyou 🙏

Lovely spot amongst the creeklines and forested hills. Vili was chill and left us to enjoy the space. Bathroom and kitchen facilities were great shape for the nightly price. This place is a gem. Well recommended

The name says it all. The plathora of wildlife that inhabits the dense bush all around this magnificent location make themselves known at dawn and dusk competing to make their presence known. A pleasent replacement from the cocophany of Sydney CBD. The common facilities are a surprisingly good for a farm stay. More like the cabins you find on multi-day hiking trials without the sleeping quarters. There's plenty of room for campers to spread out.

I loved camping at this site across Christmas. An open elevated meadow dotted with campsites (each with a fire pit) made for a relaxing spot to spend a few days. Straightforward to drive in, lots of birds visiting the clearing, and a handy simple cottage with clean bathrooms (hot showers!) and even a gas cooktop made for a very comfortable stay. Swimming in the creek was refreshing after a warm day.

Great base to explore the area, minyon Falls, the creek on the property. Vili works hard to maintain pristine meadows and facilities. Tawny frogmouth, kookaburras galore, wonga pigeons, pademelon, wallabies! Stunning night sky whilst sitting around our camp fire. We will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Vili’s beautiful property. The location is quiet and relaxing, with beautiful views and surrounded by national parks. Vili was a fantastic host, very welcoming and helpful, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The amenities were excellent, very clean showers and toilets, and even a sauna! A perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy nature and unwind. Highly recommended.

The Hidden Gem site truly lives up to its name. From the very start, the windy road in is all part of the magic, with a beautiful drive through a lush, subtropical paradise. Once dusk hits and the frogs quieten down, you can hear the distant waterfall doing its thing - bliss. Vili was incredibly helpful and genuinely made everything easy nothing was ever a problem. The showers and toilets were spotless and clearly well cared for, which always scores big points. So many perfect spots to sit back, relax, and soak in the views, it’s impossible not to unwind here. Big shout out to Ben & Odell who were our neighbours for the weekend ✌🏼 Thanks, Hidden Gem. We’ll be back very soon. 10/10 🌿 With love, Seana & Roman

Beautiful grassy open campsite with fire pits and lovely views surround by tall eucalypts and kookaburras. There’s a great communal area with clean showers, flushing toilets, and kitchen facilities. Nice flowing creek at the bottom of the property, it’s quite a steep walk or you can drive down and park at the bottom. Loved it! Great peaceful place to escape the hustle and bustle. Will definitely be back :)

Great spot! Lots of room and the fire pits are nice and big. Love the little communal hut. (I could seriously live in there by myself). Vily was lovely and everything was perfect!

This campsite is absolutely incredible. The scenery is beautiful, with private access to the mountain and trails that are perfect for exploring. The creek is stunning and easily one of our favorite parts of the stay. I had read a few previous reviews mentioning that accessing the creek was quite difficult, but that wasn’t our experience at all. We had our daughter and dog with us, and we found it very easy and safe to get down to the water. The facilities honestly blew us away… wow for a campsite! There’s a kitchenette, clean bathrooms, hot showers, and pretty much everything you could possibly need. It felt more like a retreat than a typical campground. The grounds themselves are beautifully maintained, and the host was incredibly welcoming and friendly. A special highlight was the kookaburras. You can feed them, and the hosts even provide the food, which was such a unique and memorable experience. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations in every way. We will definitely be coming back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special camping experience.

A true hidden gem. If you want to disconnect for a while, enjoy beautiful scenery and wildlife this is the place. Gorgeous site, well kept, great modern facilities including a lovely big open deck our lounge area. Rain or shine, bases are covered. The kids are sure to love feeding the kookaburra's in the morning or evening, swimming in the waterhole to cool off, reading in the tree-top hammock or kicking the ball on the lovely green grass. Our dog came home exhausted from swimming, bush walking, rock hopping and playing with our kid. Can't go wrong.

Amazing place and a must stay for anyone looking to get away. The facilities are all in excellent condition, the location is beautiful and peaceful, and Vili is a great host. Access is a little rough, but that’s what it takes to truly escape! We’re already looking forward to our next trip back!

This was a fantastic campground and experience. Vili is a wonderful host who even gave us the opportunity to feed the kookaburras as well as tell us some history of the land. I highly recommend this spot to anyone seeking a serene, peaceful getaway. We did the walk to the waterfalls (about 2 hours return but give yourself 3) directly from the property. Its a steep climb up but was well marked with strong around the trees to show you the way. The facilities were super clean and all the wildlife really added to the experience. Thank you Vili for a wonderful stay and break from the city.

We had the best weekend ever! 🌿 The place is absolutely beautiful, such a hidden gem surrounded by nature. We came with friends, our friend’s 1-year-old baby, and 3 doggies, and it was just perfect. Everything was super clean and well looked after, and you can really feel the love and care that goes into this place. The kookaburras were amazing to see, and we loved how sustainable everything is. Vili was awesome, always checking in to make sure we were safe and having a good time. Couldn’t have asked for a better host or a better spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Thanks again, Vili, for sharing this little paradise with us, we’ll definitely be back! 🏕️

It's a beautiful piece of land, and really well set up, having the shower and toilets makes camping life that much easier and the cabin/common area means even in bad weather there's a cosy spot to keep warm and dry. We had lovely clear views of the surrounding hills and night sky and a loved the swimming hole in the creek that runs by down the hill. Vili was a cool character, very friendly and lots of good info and recommendations for the surrounding area.
