Big Island Bend offers 40 acres of pristine bushland on the Western bank of the Clyde River just North of Big Island in the middle of the Batemans Bay Marine Park. The north-facing campsite is in a beautiful location with access to riverfront beaches, water sports, fishing, mountain bike trails and hiking. Note - bookings are by arrangement only. BEFORE YOU BOOK - PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS PROPERTY IS RIGHT FOR YOU 1. CAPACITY - We are able to host only a single campsite comprising a single tent or caravan for no more than two nights duration only. This will ensure compliance with NSW State Govt regulations that are policed heavily by Eurobodalla Shire Council. Please do not plan to erect a second tent – this may result in a fine that we will pass on to you. We apologise if this prohibits your larger family and small group from enjoying our property. 2. SITE AMENITIES - The camp is best suited to adventurous campers with swags, tents, rooftops, light camping trailers and small popup caravans. There is a flushing toilet, a hot shower, running (dam) water, and firepits but no electricity or refrigeration. We have fire pits available for guests use, please ensure there are no restrictions in place before lighting a campfire in the designated firepit. Firewood is available at additional cost. 3. ROAD ACCESS - The last couple of km of dirt track are undulating and dusty, but perfectly fine for all vehicles in dry conditions. Access and exit will become challenging for larger motorhomes and caravans, heavy camping trailers and 2WD vehicles (especially front-wheel-drive), after periods of heavy or prolonged rain. We will refund your booking fee if you choose to cancel, or we close the property, due to the weather (it will need to be bad for us to close the property, so you won’t want to be there anyway). Please message us in advance for advice if you are concerned about the weather or vehicle access. 4. PETS - Well behaved pets are welcome but must be controlled and cleaned up after.

Private and very easy to access caravan sites available just 20 minutes from Canberra City Centre and 10 mins to fuel, Aldi, takeaway etc. Plenty of room to turn around and sites are nice and level. Guests can enjoy our peaceful and scenic paddock away from it all. Plenty of wildlife to see, Birds, Kangaroos, Reptiles and Wallabies, the occasional Wombat and lovely easy walks. Try some yabbying in the nearby dam too if you like. We are just 7km from the Barton Highway and provide a very secure property that allows you to go off exploring with confidence. DOGS are permitted on LEAD only. Self contained vehicles. (toilet) required. Fires permitted when no fire ban, fire pits provided. Wood provided at cost on request.

We are about 1.5 hours from Batemans Bay and the NSW south coast.The night sky here is mesmerising. The milky way core is visible from January through to November and is an astrophotographer's dream. Bring a camera!

The Meadow is situated on the Hoskinstown Plains. The property offers long views across the plain and the surrounding rolling hills. The camp-site is well positioned in the country side below the foot hills of Talaganda nationl park but only a short 10 minute drive to Historic Bungendore or 30 minute drive to the centre of Canberra . You can expect a quiet and sheltered grassy camp-site with easy access straight off the black and plenty of room to spread out and relax. The sites have some friendly cows and sheep near by and the odd wombat that might pass by swell as vast variety of native birds.

We had a lovely stay at Mark's property. Scenery is wonderful: river view, peaceful and full of bird's singing. Mark was very helpful and we didn't have any issues accessing the site after getting his guidance.

Nice and spacious, could be tidier as you drive through the property but it was quiet and served it's purpose. The sheep running around the camp were fun to watch.

I stayed at site 5. Even though the sites are quite close, I was there by myself so it was no issue. Shared the paddock with sheep, kangaroos, lizards, rabbits and water birds. Lovely outlook over the little dam, and was able to see the bunnies and Roos hopping around. This is the second site I have stayed at where I didn’t meet the owners first up or at all. I have to admit that I prefer meeting the owners when I arrive, as a woman travelling alone it just feels better to meet the owners and know that I’m safe. This is just a personal preference, I’m sure others may not be bothered by it, but I appreciate the meet and greet. Other than that the stay was fine, location was great for an easy drive into Canberra, and communication with Janice was good also.

An easy drive from Canberra along a picturesque country road. The camping spots have dappled shade from eucalyptus trees and are situated on the edge of a sheep paddock. Level, large, easy spaces with a fire pit. Perfect for my overnight stay

Conveniently located for a trip to Canberra. Plenty of space for us as we were the only ones there but the 5 camp sites are close together. Easy to find, tranquil and relaxing with visits from the local sheep & rabbits! Unfortunate that the space is also utilised for boat, caravan and container storage which takes away from the views

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Miranda Springs. We brought our grandson along and he loved the sheep wandering through our campsite and the ponies. We had a campfire each evening and tried unsuccessfully to catch a yabby in the dam. Unfortunately for us, it was magpie nesting season and the swooping male bird was persistent and annoying. The campsite was level, had a pretty outlook, easy access for a 20 foot van and plenty of sunshine for solar charging (as long as one parks across the track). The other campsites and the storage vans were situated quite close, but we positioned our van so we saw only the fields and dams.

Lovely quiet spot and fun sharing it with the local sheep. Safe and secure and perfect for Canberra and the Murrumbateman wine region. For Canberra exploration, suggest driving to Epic and Racecourse light rail station (plenty of parking) and do train and buses which makes it so much easier. (free for seniors) Host Jan was fabulous.

Peaceful spot. Level ground. Good directions and helpful reflective sign posts making it very easy to find. We stayed in Site 2. Easy drive through site and good for solar charging. It was a great base to visit Canberra. The city centre was about 25 - 30 minutes away.

We recently stayed at Miranda Springs Hipcamp and were blown away by how peaceful and private it was. Tucked away from the hustle, it offered complete serenity—just the sounds of nature and wide open space to unwind. The campsite was well-maintained, super clean, and easy to access, but still felt remote enough to really switch off and relax. It’s the kind of place where you can truly disconnect, sit by the fire under the stars, and forget about everything else for a while. If you’re chasing solitude, quiet, and a slice of nature all to yourself, this is the one. We’ll definitely be back. 🙌🔥🌌

Amazing location. Great to be able to stay at such a tranquil place, not far to the CBD and most tourist attractions in Canberra. A great place to relax after a busy day of touring. Jan was quick with all communication. The animals in the property kept the kids busy for hours.
