Welcome to SLEEPY HOLLOW MANOR ESTATE, A family farm Acting under the state government agricultural tourism reform allowing primary producers and livestock farms such as us on RU2 property to have visitors.
As part of this we have to follow some simple protocol! Unfortunately, we have had some issues with local council which now monitor our movements closely and we ask that you follow these simple rules extremely closely failure to do may cause us to reject your booking and may incur penalties to both of us as the landholders and also the camper.
1. STRICTLY No Caravans, RV's, Tents or Any Camping site is to be set up within 50 meters of the creek.
2. No more that 20 people camping on the property at one time.
3. Zero impact to the land and surrounds treat it like you would a national park.
4. All waste must be bagged and taken off site with you.

Our powered site gives you a bathroom with hot water shower, septic toilet and sink. Part of a shed with a tv, radio, fridge and tables, a bbq, fire pit and plenty of space to spread out. Firewood is available on site only for $25.00 per night and includes 30 kg of seasoned split firewood and 10 kg of kindling/fire starters per night. Firewood must be ordered through Hipcamp with no refunds available. TO BE CONSCIOUS OF BIOSECURITY COMPLIANCE, NO FIREWOOD IS TO BE BROUGHT INTO OR TAKEN FROM OUR PROPERTY.
Evans Head Camping is a peaceful, tranquil, private property within 4km of the beautiful beaches, river and township of Evans Head, on the Far North Coast of NSW.
Surfing, fishing, bushwalking, swimming are popular activities in Evans Head.
There are ample shops, IGA, SPA, Post Office, Newsagents, Butcher, Muzza's Milk Bar, just to name a few.
Dining options - Evans Head RSL, Evans Head Bowlo, Illawong Hotel, plus thai, Japxican, fish and chip take away.
4WD Beach Access is located at Airforce Beach, about 4km's away.
Woodburn-Evans Head Golf Club is a 5min drive.

Great camping spot a few minutes from town and the beautiful beaches of Evans Head.
Cameron was an accommodating host and super knowledgeable of the area.
Amenities were much better than expected, including, chairs, table and the river with kayaks provided. Make use of the spotlights at night to keep animals away

We would highly recommend this campsite to anyone wanting to camp at Evans Head. The site is spacious and very well equipped, with a clean and practical shower/toilet block. The bonus shed provides extra shelter and extremely useful kitchen facilities, including a fridge, kettle, microwave, and fan.
The kids loved making a fire and cooking on the fire pit, and the surprise extra was being able to swim and kayak in the dam, with kayaks provided on site. It really is a fantastic little spot to camp.
The most outstanding part was meeting Cameron, who is a very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly host. We would highly recommend this site and will definitely be returning in the near future.

We spent the weekend at Evans Head Camping for the second time and absolutely loved it again. It’s so peaceful and relaxing. The site is very clean and well maintained, which really makes the stay enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone who prefers to stay away from busy, crowded campgrounds.

Enjoyed our time, beautiful scenery, close to beach in Pottsville. Creek at this particular time (Jan 2026) was not flowing well enough that I would like to sit in to cool off as the cows travel through and I just didn’t feel comfortable. Found the instructions a little overwhelming, lots there to read and understand. All common sense with respecting others property. I would recommend, to tick off your list but we won’t be returning as there’s so much out there to see. Found price quite up there, I assume due to being highly rated. Thank you for letting us enjoy your property.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sleepy Hollow Manor Estate – Platypus Creek. Such a peaceful, quiet spot that felt wonderfully secluded and relaxing from the moment we arrived.
Tom met us on arrival and was incredibly welcoming, taking the time to show us a few great camping locations so we could choose the perfect spot. The creek was beautiful, a real highlight, and added to the calm, natural feel of the property.
The location is fantastic, especially if you enjoy being active. It’s so close to the Tweed Rail Trail, which made it ideal for our bike rides and runs, but still felt tucked away and tranquil back at camp.
If you’re looking for a quiet, nature filled escape with a thoughtful host and easy access to outdoor adventures, this place is a gem. We’d happily stay again.

My mates and I camped at Evan’s Head over the new year and had the time of our lives! It’s an amazing location a very short drive from town and the beach, the property is completely to yourself with plenty to explore. The facilities were more than what we were expecting with an awesome shed to sit under and a good shower and toilet. Plenty of back yard cricket spots and spots to set up our tents, plus the swimmable quarry right near the site was amazing to go swimming and kayaking in. Couldn’t recommend enough and will definitely be back!

This was our first ever hipcamp. Had a great time with the family at Sleepy Hollow. The kids loved the cows and the rope swings and there was plenty of open space for them to play. The property is excellently maintained and Tom was friendly and a fantastic host. Will absolutely come back.

The best waterside camping near Brunswick Heads guide
When to go
Like nearby Byron Bay, the weather is kind all year round, so there’s no really bad time to go, although it does get a bit rainy in February and March. It gets very busy during summer and Easter school holidays, when it pays to book campsites well in advance.
Know before you go
- Go retro in style and hire a vintage caravan, set up with everything you need. It will be waiting for you at the camping site of your choice. https://retropod.com.au/
- Brunswick Heads is almost exactly halfway between Ballina and the Gold Coast airport in Queensland, which doubles your flight options. If you do fly in or out of the Gold Coast remember there’s a one-hour time difference between NSW and Queensland thanks to daylight saving in summer.
- The Brunswick River is perfect for kayaking. Hire a kayak from the Scout Hall (across the footbridge from town) and paddle the Brunswick River brunswickriverkayaktours.com.au
- Ask at the Brunswick Heads Visitors Centre (7 Park St, Brunswick Heads) for a free ‘clue sheet’ and use it to follow the Brunswick Heads Fairy Trail to find little fairy houses that have been hidden all over town. Adults love it just as much as kids.
