The campsites are situated right on the bank of the mighty Clarence River, perfectly suited for campers who enjoy the peace and quiet. Please note: Our sites are available for booking up to 3 months in advance. Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos and on occasions a couple of visiting brolgas. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control. Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place. Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase. Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. We offer you a well located and secure camp-site to explore the North Coast or for that overnight stay while you are travelling to your destination and need a safe place to camp. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control. Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place. Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase. Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. ABOUT Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is a highly active Permaculture demonstration site and has been used to teach permaculture to countless international and local students for the past 20 years. It is at the forefront of Permaculture Design, displaying many permaculture principles, and produces an abundance of food and various yields from within its living environment. Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is a family friendly farm, situated on a sixty six acre (27 hectares) property that fronts Terania Creek. The property is completely off-grid and contains 800m of creek frontage with fishing & swimming spots, and abundant wildlife ideal for bird watchers. Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet has recently become a community of 8 private residences that share this beautiful property. We kindly ask that campers respect the residents’ privacy, however they are always up for a friendly chat. CAMPSITE The campsite is situated on the communal grounds at the heart of Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet on flat lawn surrounded by bamboo and the sounds of the rainforest. We also have 10 raised camping shelters on offer, suitable for small tents for 1-2 people. Campers have close access to bathrooms built from eco-friendly shipping containers with composting toilets and warm showers; 2 fire pits, education/function centre (available for hire), a camp kitchen with fridge/freezer (no cooktop), a common sheltered area to relax with wifi. Children 7 years and under stay free. OFFERINGS: - Farm Tour by bookings (1.5hrs) - Organic free range eggs if available ($12 doz) - Seasonal organic veggie basket subject to availability - Firewood if available ($15) LOCATION: Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is ideally located in the Byron Hinterland - 45mins from Ballina airport, 45mins to Byron Bay, 20mins to the vibrant Nimbin, 12mins to Whian Whian falls, 20 minutes to Nightcap National Park, and 2mins to the local general store with laundromat and petrol station. We highly recommend visiting popular The Channon Markets on 2nd Sunday of each month for live music, food and many stalls of handmade goodies at the Showgrounds for a family friendly day out! The property is a 300 acre working farm with horses, cattle and a friendly dog named Wal. Campers are welcome to explore the many walking tracks on the property as well as the bordering national park. Just a 800 metres from Clarrie Hall Dam, spend your days picnicking and paddling amongst the stunning scenery. The dam is stocked with Australian Bass for a fun day's fishing. Take a 5 minute drive to Uki a township where you will find an abundance of arts and crafts, weekend markets and a host of alternative/natural therapy practitioners. You'll reach the larger town of Murwillumbah in just 15 minutes and the famous Byron Bay in under an hour. Explore the nearby Northern Rivers Rail Trail - 24km of trail through working farms, lush rainforest, wide bridges and original train tunnels. Phil is a great guy with a beautiful property. He was really friendly and cool to chat to but laid back and easy going. The space is so big that you can easily find a private spot to your liking. The mozzies are hardcore but not a problem if you bring some heavy duty bug repellent. There were a few other people camping as it was peak season during summer holidays but we felt secluded in our own beautiful temporary home in nature… will definitely be coming back!

Oh my god. Mosquito central! Phil the host is so lovely, and we really enjoyed staying here but man we were not prepared for the influx of the mozzies. None of our heavy duty repellants cut the mustard, and even our super smoky fires only staved them off for a little bit. We tried to go for a fish at the creek but could only last 10-20 minutes before driven out with bugs. One of our dogs broke out in a huge bumpy rash from them, and you could see a black cloud of them following the dogs everywhere even with repellant on them. We are avid campers, but have never experienced this level of them before. Mozzies aside, the camp site was so pretty. Lovely and flat, with beautiful bushlands around. The more private sites are towards the bushland, otherwise you’re very exposed. The camp was very well maintained and it’s clear Phil puts a lot of effort into this place. There was chopped up wood and limbs all over for firewood and he was more than happy for our pups to run off lead. The camp horse is also incredibly friendly and has to be one of the most tolerant horses I have ever met… not even tilting an ear at our boisterous dogs. We definitely would stay here again, just not any time at all near mosquito season!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karen’s Hipcamp. We were self contained & camped up in the top area. We had an amazing view of the farm, dams & would watch the horses grazing each afternoon. The area was lush, quiet & peaceful and was only a short drive to beaches, shops & hotels. The horses on the farm were very friendly & we loved patting them. Mooball was only a 5 min drive away & there was a family friendly pub (with pool) and the Rail trail bike track was an added bonus. We look forward to returning here with family/friends soon and highly recommend this hipcamp. Thank you Karen

Beautiful land with the most adorable little ponies and horses. Definitely recommend stopping by (as well as rocking up with at least a little bit of daylight left - host was very accommodating but since you can park anywhere and there are a few small water bodies, it's better to arrive before night fall).
