The Channon Camp
We loved our time at Tranquil Terania. We were lucky to get directions to main site next to the creek, the spot there is beautyful and quiet. We saw an echidna first thing on arrival wich was exciting for kids. You might hear some cars during the day but after 8pm it was quiet.
Overall the place was nice however just not really what we expected from looking at the Hipcamp ad. it was very private and had nice views of the river, however the toilet wasn’t that close by and pretty filthy and u have to walk along an 80km road to get there and there are no signs saying there is a toilet there just do not enter authorised personal only sign which made it the last place we exspected a toilet to be. at the camp site it’s the same deal you’ve just got a yellow sign that just says private property, when we first arrived we were worried if we gone the wrong spot we were going to go down somebody’s driveway. when we arrived we went down a muddy track and there’s a small clearing which isnt signed as the camp spot so we thought we had to keep driving so we tried to keep driving however the road was to unkept for our 2WD to go through so we walked around and then found 2 old abandoned RV’s so we eventually just came to the conclusion that clearing had to be the camp site. We had a lot of rain on our last day and we’re almost unable to get our car out of the mud as the ad says this spot is “2WD accessible” which is clearly wasn’t we were pretty lucky to make it it was very slippery soft mud however our small car was fully loaded with all our bags tent and gear which also would have made a difference
Just thought I’d write this to help out anyone else in the future as we were abit lost and could have used something like this to refer to

A nice spot but overgrown , hard access to the creek, toilet was unkept , not worth $40
Such a beautiful quiet spot to stay at, very secluded with a beautiful view and close to the channon tavern, perfect for dinner and a drink. The dogs loved it! Will definitely be back!
We had a great stay, it rained a lot mostly lightly and seemed to drain away or soak into the ground, so many birds to enjoy, listening to the creek or watching the fish it was peaceful. We did stay Easter long weekend and is close to the road so heard a few cars but still a great spot. A nice drive to the waterfalls was worth doing too

Great spot , by the river , swimming hole right there, walk to the pub/ shop / market ( 600 m).
20 mins to protesters falls NP location.
Toilet onsite, quiet private grassy site. Fire pit just adds to the vibe

Nice clear area for setting up camp without too much fuss about space taken up. Good toilet and shower facilities, including for handicapped individuals. Communal building allowing AC power supply for charging phones, cameras and other electronic devices. Very friendly hospitality extended by area manager Patricia and associate Dillon and other staff.
don’t get much better ,, shade , easy access to water , general store walking distance away and most of all super private ,, will be visiting again

Great spot, great Host. Lots of shade, very private location.
Oh this spot was heavenly - a dip in the running creek and quiet sitting enough for an amazing Kingfisher bird to bathe many times in front of me while 2 iridescent blue dragonflies sat close by. And enormous thanks to McArthy for giving our car a jump start. What a legend - pure paradise thank you 🙏
The Channon site is wonderfully set among overhanging trees with a high view over the river and a fire pit. Set away from the other sites with a wild bush feel. Perfect.
Amazing! Throughout our travels up the east coast by far this is our favourite camp, private and perfect !! Even saw a turtle basking, truly beautiful place!
We took our 8 year old daughter here for her very first camping trip and the overall experience for her (and us) was fantastic. Although right next to the road, the spot was nice and secluded and the trees blocked out a lot of the noise.
The grounds were clean and very well kept with lots of different spots to pick from to set up camp. The creek was absolutely beautiful and so refreshing to swim in.
The host was great and came to check on us the next day to make sure we had settled in okay. I highly recommend Tranquil Terania and will definitely be back in the future with friends and my family.

Absolutely loved this location! Close proximity to a beautiful bubbling creek with easy access which the family couldn’t get enough of. The name of the site definitely lives up to its name. We will be back!

Nice view, kind host, clean water. I'd like to visit the site again.
Beautiful secluded spot, if you forget anything there is a general store minutes away that stocks everything. Made good use of the picnic bench. Large flat area with great grass. Loved the sound of the creek at night. Highly recommended.

Easy to find. Close to The Channon. Great communication. We camped up top next to the road, the lower camps look awesome but not accessible in our 2wd van in the wet. Great place to day trip from too. Recommend.

Lovely spot, easy to find with great swimming hole.
My wife and I spent two nights here, it is a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Grounds are kept very well, site is clean and grass is short. Water holes are perfect for a dip and we even saw a little platypus swimming around. The owner is super friendly and helpful, we will be back many times! Don’t miss booking in here.
Came here for a few nights after Christmas with hubby and 3 adult kids and 2 little dogs. (Keep them on longlines as area isn't fenced in.) Absolutely loved it, being in amongst nature, songbirds and no light pollution at night, the stars were amazing to just lay and look at. The space, plenty of room and very well kept. We chose to park the campervan and ⛺️ on the top level as you reach bottom of driveway, as it was a little mushy down by creek. Very little road noise considering its right there. 2 firepits onsite that we could move to where ever and the toilet 🚻 was very handy to have onsite. This was placed a little walk from camp-site but that, I liked as there was no stinky smells around this way. It hit 41° and there was plenty of shade and the creek to refresh in. Our campervan did struggle getting back up the main drive, but this could be because it had a lot of weight in the back end, nothing in the front. Corner store and tavern just 5min walk down the road if you're needing anything.
