All guests have shared access to the 15m resort-style magnesium pool and direct beach access from the property.
We are a wildlife sanctuary and an operating farm with horses, chickens, ducks, pigeons and a peacock. There are dogs on the property to protect the chickens and other animals from predators, so please don’t bring any pets of your own.
Enjoy Sugar Beach Ranch with your horse, bring them along for the holiday, and plenty of beach and trail rides. Paddock accommodation available.
As we are located in the secluded and sleepy cane fields of South Ballina there is limited access to shops, cafes, restaurants, etc.
The Burns Point Ferry is the best way to get to us, it runs from 5:30am until 12.30am daily, consistently running back and forth. An approx. 8min journey each way and costs $.00 each way, payable by credit card only. So you can easily go into Ballina town for all shops, cafes, restaurants, etc.
If the ferry isn't for you, you can drive to Ballina via Wardell on River Drive.
The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed.
Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. All care is taken to ensure minimal disruption to guests.

the main camping site is the creek flat in a large shady area with a swimming hole in the freshwater springfed creek with campfire and log seats.
there is an alternative camping site for wet weather in the front stone circle paddock 50mtrs from the creek bank. this area is a grassed paddock with morning shade but full sun throughout the day. there is no mobile reception on the property but a short walk up the driveway a few hundred meters away you can get reception at the property entrance should you need to make calls or get/snd msgs..
Property is located 8mins from the Pacific highway, 10mins from Mullumbimby or 18mins from Byron bay township pubs, restaurants and surfing beaches.
Approximately 20mins drive to Brunswick heads surfing beaches or Byron surfing beaches.
National parks for hiking or horse riding within 20mins drive. Can accommodate 2 horses in paddocks ($10per horse per night.) and parking space for horse float should you wish to bring your horses and enjoy some trails or beach riding in the area, I can give more information on places to ride on request.
other activities that can be booked at additional cost include Didgeridoo Making workshops for adults and didgeridoo painting workshops for kids. this is a full day activity for adults and a half day activity for kids doing didgeridoo painting workshops. please enquire for more info and prices.

Located at The Channon, we are not far from the well known towns of Nimbin and Lismore (both 20kms away but in different directions) and Byron Bay which is 40km away.
Our property is an easy walking distance to the local village where you will find the shop/ general store and the pub is dog friendly. It's around 1km to The Channon Craft Market grounds, and the markets are on the second Sunday of each month. Lots of crafts, clothes, jewellery, gifts, food stalls and entertainers to see and enjoy.
This campsite is located right on the banks of the flowing creek. It's a private site with access to two good swimming holes. Enjoy warming your feet around the campfire in the evenings, subject to fireban conditions.
We welcome only self-contained campers who bring their own camping shower and drinking water. There is access to rubbish facilities.
For those wanting to explore a bit further we are 15kms from Nightcap National Park and the beautiful Protesters Falls. There is a walking track that leads through lush World Heritage rainforest right up to the falls.

Creek-sites suit experienced, self-contained campers (with 4wd) that like a bit of space. & know how to deal with their own shit. Literally.

Sunsets are the feature here with incredible views across to the hinterland. Watch Kangaroos, dolphins, eagles, pelicans and a ton of fish! The Burns Point Ferry is the best way to get to us, it runs from 5:30am until 12.30am daily, consistently running back and forth. An approx. 8min journey each way and costs $.00 each way, payable by credit card only. So you can easily go into Ballina town for all shops, cafes, restaurants, etc.
If the ferry isn't for you, you can drive to Ballina via Wardell on River Drive.
The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed.
Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. All care is taken to ensure minimal disruption to guests.

This campsite is located right on the banks of the flowing creek. It's a private site with access to two good swimming holes. Enjoy warming your feet around the campfire in the evenings, subject to fireban conditions.

🌄 Border Ranges Hip Camps
Relax at our scenic farm, just 20 minutes from Kyogle at the base of the Border Ranges National Park. Our property is a 200 acre working cattle farm with resident cows, calves and Gus the bull. All camp sites are located along the creek with amazing swimming holes and plenty of space for a caravan or tent.
🏕️ Creekside Camping
Pitch your tent by the beautiful Lynch’s Creek. Meet friendly cows.
All sites are at least 50m apart and whether 2 or 20 in your group the site is allocated to you only to creat privacy. All sites have there own creek access so you wont be sharing with other campers.
🌱 Nature & Adventure
Fish, swim, bird watch, or spot a platypus.
Bring tubes or a canoe for extra fun.
🥾 Explore
Border Ranges National Park is nearby, with magical bush walks and waterfalls.
🔥 Fires: Fire pits are available at all campsites. Currently we don't have firewood available to purhcase on site however you can purchase firewood at some service stations in Kyogle.
💧 Water: Please bring your own drinking water. Council tap available in Kyogle for top up at Kyogle show grounds.
🚻 Toilets: We currently don't offer facilities—please bring a Portaloo. Waste dump available at Kyogle showgrounds. Plese take all waste with you on departure.
🗑️ Rubbish: Rubbish bins are not provied—please take all rubbish with you.
🐶 We love pets! Furbabies are welcome to camp with you—just keep them supervised, on a leash, and clean up after them so everyone can enjoy their stay. 🐾🦴
🐴 Horse Facilities
🏟️ Arena Hire: 60x35m sand arena and full-size camp draft arena available at a fee. Bring your own horse.
🏕️ Horse Camping: Dedicated zones for horse owners. Waivers/insurance may be required. Arena can be used as a paddock with prior arrangement, yards are not currently available.
🚫🏍️To ensure a peaceful experience for all guests and comply with insurance requirements, we are unable to accommodate motorbikes at our campsite. Thank you for your understanding! 🌿

Goodwood Island River Camp offers both camping and cottage. Camping is strictly for Self-contained Caravans/Motorhomes/RV's with a toilet. NO facilities for camping at this property. Our Cottage River and Sky is fully contained.
Camping on the Clarence and the North Arm River. Whist we have allotted sites your actual site will be allocated upon arrival. River front sites are weather dependent and cannot be guaranteed based on weather events.
Watch Dolphins and other wildlife including Kangaroos and Birds.
Fishing, Swimming, Relaxing, hear the ambience of the Pacific Ocean waves in the distance. Kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding (not supplied).
Sorry due to insurance restrictions NO motor boats allowed.
Nearby Beaches, Surfing, Pubs, Supermarkets, Golf Course.
Dog Friendly (well trained to not chase wildlife). Dogs must must kept within your allocated campsite.
Goodwood Island River Camp has abundant wildlife including Kangaroos, eagles, goannas and SeaLife in the river. It is always advisable to keep a good distance from all of our resident wildlife as they are in their natural environment.
Our cottage 'River and Sky' is on the Clarence and offers two bedrooms with stunning views, kitchen, bathroom, lounge and large deck. The cottage is situated directly across the road from the river and boasts a private beach and grassed area. There is amazing fishing as well. Sunsets are the feature here with incredible views across to the hinterland. Watch Kangaroos, dolphins, eagles, pelicans and a ton of fish! We also have horses should you be interested in some 'equine experiences' (ground work only). You will forever remember your stay at River and Sky Cottage!
River and Sky Cottage is also pet friendly - well behaved quiet dogs ONLY.

Was a great spacious camp site. Toilet was very clean and didn't smell at all for a compost toilet. Horses across the road were friendly and the kids loved patting them. Short walk to beach and pool up near the house. Very relaxing, would stay there again

Firstly not sure if I can sum up this HipCamp in such a small review. From first making the booking, before leaving and during my stay the communication was quick and all instructions were really clear. The property is stunning, well kept and the facilities are amazing. The shower/toilet is phenomenal, clean and everything you need. The camp kitchen with sink and power is a nice touch. Wood fire was filled with wood and all I had to do was light it. Would highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming again soon. In the top 3 Hipcamps I have stayed it (been using Hipcamp years).

Nice clear area for setting up camp without too much fuss about space taken up. Good toilet and shower facilities, including for handicapped individuals. Communal building allowing AC power supply for charging phones, cameras and other electronic devices. Very friendly hospitality extended by area manager Patricia and associate Dillon and other staff.

It's a great place to stay , the location is perfect in the hills and Craig is a friendly and helpful host. And the other camper's we nice and friendly.

We had a great night at Riverbend. Its a private site with plenty of choices to set up camp. The creek was beautiful, not too cold. You do jear some road noise but ots nothing major. Such a great place to relax and unwind.

Fern Gully was so beautiful!!! Incredible spot which was really well set up. Tristan was super kind and friendly and came down to say hi to us and also gave us heaps of recommendations of what to do in the area. Super private and secluded, couldn’t even tell we were sharing the space with other people! 10/10 experience

The farm is easy to find with clear instructions. Stuart is very friendly and helpful. Sushi is adorable and accompanied us everyday. The location is really good, so close to Hanging Rock Falls. The campsite has the privacy itself, so there should be no disturbances from other groups in the peak season despite that we are only guests there at that time.

Felt like we had our own private forest. Excellent drop toilet close to camp. My dog was super happy there, lots of space and a very tranquil environment. The location is great for its easy access to the coast. Tristan was accommodating and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended. Would definitely return.

Beautiful view, nice and private. The owners were very helpful in giving directions and being there in case we had any questions or concerns, but we didn't have any issues at all. Will be returning and recommending this campground to friends.
