Grayson Highlands State Park
Build an enthusiasm for bouldering at this magnificent state park.
Prepare for a wide range of activities with scenic views of alpine-like peaks. Mountains here reach up to 5,000 feet high or more, including the highest point in Virginia. Rock climbing without ropes is big in this park.
Climb a rock or several, at seven boulder fields. Climbers have mapped out 700 different problems. You must be at the peak of your game because bringing your own ropes is not allowed.
Hum a new tune at the Wayne C. Henderson Music Festival and Guitar Competition in June. Bluegrass and local music reign in this region. Take in the Grayson Highlands Fall Festival with more live music and artists.
