The Campground at Hound Dog, North Carolina
on 4 responses
The Campground at Hound Dog is part of a 100 acre tract purchased by my grandfather about 1932. Until a few years before he passed away, my grandfather raised hogs on it and slaughtered, smoked, cured, and sold pork. Until the 1820s, when the frontier was moved by treaty to a ridgeline a few miles to the west, this place was part of the Cherokee community of Sandtown.
