Talk about a diamond in the rough. New Hampshire’s aptly named Little Diamond Pond, tucked away in the remote north country, boasts some of the best trout fishing in the state. While this is the heart and soul of Coleman State Park—drawing fishermen young and old from across the region—many more flock here for excellent hunting and ATVing. And with a handful of new ATV-accessible campsites, why wouldn’t they? From here, riders have access to more than 1,000 miles of off-road-vehicle trails in Coos County, plus additional trails reserved for non-motorized pursuits such as hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing. Even if you weren’t aware that Coleman State Park lies just 15 miles from the Canadian border, you’d be silly to think you were anywhere else.
