Todd's Place

2 sites ¡ RVs, Tents116 acres ¡ Cynthiana , KY
I purchased the property after my son (Todd) died in a car accident. It consists of 116 acres. Partly pasture but all explorable. Camping area is approximately 20 acres. Has several ponds, hay fields, rolling land -- a lot to explore. I do have a gambrel barn adjacent to the farm that was built in 1925 that you can see and have your pictures taken. Just a beautiful farm without being bothered. Little to no traffic on rural road. Some like to ride the road just before dusk to look at the deer. The farm has one mile of road frontage.Learn more about this land:Primitive camping and horseback riding welcome. Hay fields with some wooded areas, small ponds and a few trails to walk ,. Deer, turkey, plenty of wildlife viewing. Close to the road parking with campsites secluded. Ideal for a weekend getaway.

Lake Farm

4 sites ¡ RVs, Tents44 acres ¡ Bethel, OH
The Lake Farm is 44 acres bordered by farmed land and woods.  This farm has been in our family for over 50 years.  Although there is no residence on the property, this farm is filled with family memories.  For generations, family and friends have gathered at the farm to camp; share meals; fish or float on the lakes; play with our dogs; and enjoy the seasons in a secluded outdoor setting.  We have hosted family gatherings for all occasions and seasons including an incredible Winter Camp a few years back with historical tents and recipes.  As our children have grown older, the farm now provides a secluded space for solitude; fishing or floating in the lakes; cooking together; sitting around a table and visiting; reading a book; or taking a nap.  The two lakes on the farm host much wildlife - morning time is often filled with deer stopping by for a drink or a run across the fields and geese families teaching their children - the regiment of landing on lakes or making abrupt turns while floating on lakes.  Sometimes if you watch closely - a beaver can be spotted as he/she is slowly moving a tree branch across the lake or a turtle sunning on a tree stump.  The East Fork Horse and Hiking Trail borders our farm and makes the perfect morning walk.  This farm has been our refuge and blessing for many years.  We have developed 4 camping sites and an additional site -  in case our own family needs what we call farm therapy spot whether it be overnight or simply for an afternoon.  The Lake Farm neighbors East Fork Lake State Park and allows quick access for kayaks and canoes as well a horse and hiking trail.  Additionally, Lake Farm is 30 minutes drive from the Ohio River - where you can access the river at different points.  Please feel free to ask for recommendations on good food and local interest.

Ohio River experience

3 sites ¡ RVs, Tents2 acres ¡ OH
California, Ohio is a community on the Ohio River about a twenty minute drive upstream from Cincinnati. Actually the eastern-most neighborhood of Cincinnati, it has it's own small town or quaint village atmosphere. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California boasts several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbend, a music venue in season, is a mile away, possible walking distance, as is Belterra, a race track and casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the Wild and Scenic Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. If watching baseball leagues play games is your cup of tea, there is a large sports complex with ball fields in California. A town park with trees and large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. Nearby, and right the Wild and Scenic Little Miami River is Armleder Park, also with walking and biking trails which also connect to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have itemized separately in the Hipcamp listings. RV Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address , and have one set of amenities. It is a short walk lead down to the Ohio River where there is a small patio with table and chairs overlooking the river. Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river and have a different set of amenities, as itemized on this website. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. It is interesting and relaxing to watch the barges and pleasure boats go by. On one hand I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere when I am on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. On the other, there are planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles passing by at times. The River can be mesmerizing and serene, shimmering in the western sun, or busy with weekend pleasure boats and barge traffic. Take a walk around town, then sit by the river and watch the boats go by. Relax, set up your grill and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Ohio River. Perfect for river rats. Downtown Cincinnati is 15 or 20 minutes away with no traffic, and there are two or three ways to get there. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati. My place in California is just a few minutes from the I 275 exit.
