Holcomb was so beautiful! It was well taken care of and had just enough facilities to be comfortable. Bear in mind that the only hot water is at campsites C&D though!

We loved it, peaceful, beautiful with the rain on Friday. Saturday was beautiful with the sun out. Campsite is huge and it's a beautiful one. Just the drive in, a little bumpy, but nothing a truck can't handle. Our site was F5. Thank you for allowing me and my family to experience and stay at your beautiful ranch. We will definitely be doing it again!

The property is beautiful and the host was very friendly and answered all our questions. Well maintained and clean restrooms. Would definitely stay again!

Holcomb Valley Ranch was an amazing stay! The campsite was large and well preserved. The great views and horses were nice for the kids to see.

1 night at Idyllwild Camp

Easy to book, nice location with lots of available amenities. The shared area with seating, TV, shower, toilet, microwave is above your typical Hipcamp and great for those who want a little luxury while ‘roughing it’ 😀😀. We only use the toilet and washbasin for our one night stay, but for those spending multiple nights, this is almost as good as an AirBnB. Our campsite was right next to the road, but you wouldn’t know it, it was so quiet. Fenced in lot is great for dogs to wander, our neighbor had a couple of friendly pups who were very social and well behaved. Host we friendly, showed us the property and even helped move a gas fireplace to the campsite so we could sit in front of a flame (gas powered).

Weekend Trip to Idyllwild Camp

What an amazing Idyllwild camping space! Nestled in the hills just a six minute drive to the center of town, this property is spacious with plenty of room to set up a couple of tents or small camper per site. The host greeted us as soon as we pulled in and gave us the grand tour of the property, with a BBQ, hammocks, an air-conditioned common room with a refrigerator and coffee machine, a shower, fruit trees, and all with a peaceful hideaway feel. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Idyllwild

Weekend Trip to Idyllwild Camp

This spot is in a private property off a smaller, less trafficked street. With just a handful of available sites. It was private and quiet and just a couple of blocks away from some spectacular views! Worth a serene walk down the street! There is a lounge room that is nice and cool, or warm, with a TV fridge microwave and some much-needed coffee or hot chocolate! Even filtered water! Love that! There’s only one bathroom that has private shower. It’s beautiful and comfortable! Only downside is no one can go to the restroom when someone is in the shower. I had to ask my son to hurry his shower up because somebody new arrived and needed to use the restroom. WiFi worked amazing! There was electricity at both tent sites. Which I very much appreciated! The two tent sites are a little close together. But there was still more than enough room for us to run around and play and have a good time. Everything was well kept and beautiful. There’s a lot of love that goes into the property. There, you get to have an experience of abundance and generosity and nature all in one spot! Close to town so nothing is too far of a drive. Lovely! There is nothing bad I can say about this location 🥰 Good for families.

We went camping on Ed’s land and it was so beautiful!! It was very quiet and it felt like you were the only one there! The horses were absolutely gorgeous and Ed was very friendly and even helped us fix our tire! If you are ever looking for a quiet and pretty camping spot we definitely recommend Holcomb Valley Ranch!

The land is beautiful and the pool area is breathtaking. It's lovely to see the sunset, moon and sun rise, in such landscape. We stayed in one of the trailers. After it finally cooled off with the AC in the bedroom, it was more pleasant.

We absolutely loved tent camping here!!! Ed was so sweet and accommodating. Our 5 children had never been camping before and they had a wonderful time exploring nature and running around in the woods. Our campsite adjacent to the meadow was beautiful and perfect for us. We saw the horses, the sunsets were gorgeous, and we were close to the potable water source. Will definitely be back.

I really enjoyed camping on Cindy’s land! This is a wonderful place to stay, especially if you want to sleep outside and still have all the amenities, like a really nice shower and bathrooom, close by. Cindy and her friend Velia were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed, and were very responsive. The fenced in yard wa perfect for my dog as he got to be outside, off leash, for the entire stay. I would definitely recommend Cindy’s Hipcamp, and I would stay here again next time I’m in Idyllwild.

The location is awesome. We drove up the dirt road from the town and the campground is nestled amongst the pine trees. On the other side is a beautiful clearing where horses graze lazily through the day. Our camp site was stowed away at the back which also meant that we were by the access road so there was dust whenever a car drove past. But it was also the July4th weekend so it was understandable. I would highly recommend this place. We would definitely come back…maybe on a quiter weekend

Weekend Trip to Mineral Spring Date Farm

Ron is a great host! And there are reasons why this campsite has no complaints, 100% recommendations! Cozy tent and inflatable beds. AC provided! Bring a blanket and you are all set! Ron even provided towels for you to get dry after the hot spring bath! Location is not far from Palm Springs and Cathedral City, we booked for two nights, so we also took a tour of the cities. A nice place to get away, with easy access to good food options. Everybody gets what she/he wants!

OUR STORY Our farm story began in 2018, when on a whim and a prayer we purchased a rundown home and land. After years of acquiring many blisters, animals, plants and weird suntans, we eventually created the home and farm of our dreams. Our emphasis in the beginning of this journey was to create a space in which our children (along with ourselves) learned the value of producing our own food, fiber, meat and eggs. We challenged ourselves to learn sustainable and organic farming practices, and the emphasis soon changed to how can we share this journey and all that we have learned with more than just our children. So…..here we are, sharing our hard work and ambition with you. For now, this ambition is in the form of HomeMade Jams, Jellies, Teas, Seasonings and Confections that is procured from our own organically grown gardens and trees along with HandMade fiber creations from our small Alpaca herd. I would like to be able to say that we grew everything that goes into our ingredients, but we are not that good at everything yet! So to keep in the spirit of ethical sustainability along with ensuring a high quality and great tasting product, we purchase ingredients from local organic farmers and shelf products that not only have the USDA Organic seal, but are non-GMO, ethically harvested and in some cases certified Kosher. One day we hope to meet you and share our story with you by introducing you to the fruit trees my father grew from seed and let you feel the soft fiber of our eclectic herd of misfit Alpacas while you watch the glorious Southern California sunset touch the hot desert horizon we call home. Holcomb Valley Ranch invites you to kick back and relax on our private, 400+ acre ranch in the San Bernardino Mountains. Centered around a 100+ acre meadow, filled with horses in summer months and surrounded by thousands of acres of mountainous National Forest. Just 15 minutes from Big Bear Lake - a large recreational, fresh-water lake for summer swimming, boating, skiing, fishing and other super fun water activities. The Ranch feels remote and private. Yet is only four miles to the town of Big Bear with shopping and restaurants. Also in close proximity to incredible rock climbing at the Pinnacles, seemingly endless hiking and biking and some pretty epic off-roading 4x4 trails. Each campsite is approximately one acre, and generously-distanced from neighboring campers. Amenities include its own fire ring with grilling grate and picnic table(s). The campsites are both cozy enough for 2 or spacious enough for large groups and can easily accommodate a mix of RVs, camper vans and tents. From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. There are large trash bins by the entrance. We look forward to hosting you at the Ranch! Please note: OHV’s are allowed. They count as one of the allowed vehicles per campsite and must adhere to the speed limit (10mph) and remain on established camp roads while on the property. They may not be driven from 8pm to 8am. It is strictly forbidden to ride your vehicles through the forest, meadow or off any established roads on or off property. Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on. Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes. Holcomb Valley Ranch invites you to kick back and relax on our private, 400+ acre ranch in the San Bernardino Mountains. Centered around a 100+ acre meadow, filled with horses in summer months and surrounded by thousands of acres of mountainous National Forest. Just 15 minutes from Big Bear Lake - a large recreational, fresh-water lake for summer swimming, boating, skiing, fishing and other super fun water activities. The Ranch feels remote and private. Yet is only four miles to the town of Big Bear with shopping and restaurants. Also in close proximity to incredible rock climbing at the Pinnacles, seemingly endless hiking and biking and some pretty epic off-roading 4x4 trails. Each campsite is approximately one acre, and generously-distanced from neighboring campers. Amenities include its own fire ring with grilling grate and picnic table(s). The campsites are both cozy enough for 2 or spacious enough for large groups and can easily accommodate a mix of RVs, camper vans and tents. From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. There are large trash bins by the entrance. We look forward to hosting you at the Ranch! Please note: OHV’s are allowed. They count as one of the allowed vehicles per campsite and must adhere to the speed limit (10mph) and remain on established camp roads while on the property. They may not be driven from 8pm to 8am. It is strictly forbidden to ride your vehicles through the forest, meadow or off any established roads on or off property. Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on. Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes. Horses: The horses which may be roaming the meadow during your stay are not property of Holcomb Valley Ranch. When horses are present, guests and their pets are prohibited from entering the meadow.
