Please understand that our property is a working farm, and our staff are often busy working on projects and have full careers, outside of farming. We do not have the same amenities as a public campground or "all inclusive" camp resort. Instead, we offer your wandering heart a place to rest.
All travel to the farm is on paved roads, with no confusing dirt roads to navigate. The property is located near the small community of Runnells, Iowa in rural Camp Township. Enjoy a cold beer or hot food at one of the two local taverns, or check out the local ice cream shop or our local farmer's market on Tuesday evenings during the summer. Don't worry if you forget something! We have a nearby gas station and a general store.

Off-site, but nearby opportunities: miles of scenic hiking and biking trails, kayaking and fishing. Fee based transportation is available for guests flying in or needing a break from driving, or whenever you need a quick trip into town.

Firmly in the realm of Outsider Art, Gothic and rustic, Bob Kellogg has created a place unlike anywhere else in the world that represents freedom and inspires endless creativity. The land provides multiple camp sites for easy access to bike and walking trails taking visitors into town or through the Wapsipinicon State Park across the river from the property. Anamosa offers several restaurants, grocery stores and other businesses all within a 1-mile walking distance from your campsite.

This is "socks and shoes, jeans and boots" kind of camping. You're visiting wild places and a working perennial farm, so please dress appropriately for your optimal enjoyment. If you go off trails and other mowed places, you increase your chances of contact with poison ivy, wild parsnip and ticks. Please research these ahead of time and be prepared. We live here and encounter them frequently without more than a slight inconvenience.

Rolling Acres Farm is a 17-acre oasis and sanctuary in a sea of corn and soybeans. Larry grew up on this land, which we now steward. The farm has been managed using organic practices for over 50 years and provides habitat for birds, mammals, and bees.
We're conveniently located just 1.5 miles off Interstate 80, making us an easy stop for travelers.
The campsites are on flat, grassy ground with 110-volt electrical hookups and a water hydrant supplied by our private well. Because our farm has been organically certified, our 160-foot-deep well has been tested for E. coli and nitrates for the past 20 years. Our water is very safe, though it is high in iron. The campsites are located in an area where we once grew vegetables, near an old orchard and the pastures where we graze sheep. We also offer spaces in our large farmyard.
Elk Horn, a charming Danish village, is just up the road and home to the Museum of Danish America and Thomas Dambo's Troll Fjord Faerge.

We open year-round!! We believe each season has its special nature-beauty, so we open year-round. The property name is Tri-pond Farm. This secluded, beautiful, pet-friendly 40 acres of fenced farm camping site is on hilly-pond land and is rare in Iowa, with a view of 3.5 private fishing ponds and a far view of the Red Rock Lake. There are 10 acres nature timber area that keep you away from the other campers and the rest of the world. Each site has a firepit, picnic table, and a solar light. The drinking water is at the entrance, but no electricity on. There are tons of natural features, you may see deer, rabbits, and other game birds by your campsite. Each camping sites have good distance to keep privacy from each other.
A recently built 20ft diameter geodesic glamping dome tent is for those who want a more climate-controlled stay while still enjoying the magnificent gifts.
For surrounding areas, the nearby White Breast Beach is open from May 23 to September 3, 2026, with boating, hunting, and hiking activities in Lake Red Rock. For our campers' safety, any hunting activities are not allowed within our camping ground. However, in case you come hunting with Iowa hunting tags, a couple of public hunting grounds are near our camping ground.
The recently built glamping geodesic Dome tent is located on top of a hill. You will have a fantastic sunset view of ponds and a lake view while enjoying the great nature and having a comfortable stay.
The cell phone signals are good from most providers; you may use your cell phone hotspot work remotely at this astonishing Lake Red Rock Oasis ^_^.

A little history of this land:
These 40 acres of land were a surface mining site. The reclamation works done
during the 1970s. But over the years, the soil was seriously eroded. Anna and Peilin, who have Master's and PhD in soil and environmental health backgrounds, bought this land several years ago and started to restore the vegetation. Now the site looks beautiful and ready for the nature lovers and campers to enjoy the fantastic view of the lake, ponds, hills, and tall grass, Butterflys... The site is totally different from what Google Maps shows now.

Anna greeted us with warmth and showed us to our level parking spot, offered an electrical hookup, and showed us lovely dog walking paths. Later, I clipped some kale and a leek, as I had purchased a forage pass, and we purchased maple syrup, which was delicious on our breakfast. We met other campers in the kitchen, and felt welcomed to explore the wetlands and gardens around the property. We viewed a gorgeous sunset over the farm field and had a great sleep. There were ample clean showers and toilets in the building nearby. There was an amazing restaurant-quality kitchen available—with many sinks for washing dishes. Everything was meticulously clean and this farm felt very inviting. The kale and leeks were delicious in our dinner and the whole experience nourished our souls. Anna loves what she does and couldn’t have been friendlier. She clearly enjoys meeting new people and being creative and it made us want to return. This was a stand-out host and we highly recommend.

Such an amazing stay, the view was absolutely beautiful. The wildlife at the river was fun to explore and the tubing was extremely relaxing. The hosts were absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend.

I arrived just about midnight on a last-minute reservation to stop for the night, I couldn’t have picked a better place!!
As soon as I pull up and I start grabbing my tent and supplies, a very friendly golden retriever walks up to me and we become friends. Looking up to the sky, realized that the stars are so the prettiest I’ve ever seen, and I was astounded with the lack of light pollution in this part of Iowa. I decided I’d watch them once I finished up with my tent.
The best part of my trip out west solo was last night as I lay in the field next to my tent with this friendly golden retriever right next to me and this just as nice little barn cat making the three of us a jolly bunch of peas in a pod. It was the most peaceful and relaxing thing in the world.
I think Denise for taking care of me. They have an awesome property and I would 100% come back here again. The golden retriever who I named Bruce (because I didn’t know his name) slept on the outside of my tent all night long, protecting me from all the bumps in the night.
If you’re looking for an amazing place to stay, ideally with your significant other, this is the place to go. I wish I could’ve shared the memory with somebody other than the dog and the cat LOL

I camped at prairie meadow campsite this weekend. It is A great spot.there is shade and sunshine in this site for sunbathers and shade to cool down. Get to watch for deer , birds and cows with calves. The calves were fun to watch playing and running around the pasture. Also got to see 3 deer in the field and a blue heron fly over. Also got to see a Bald eagle pass over the timber.

Weekend Trip to #JTRidge Sites/Clothing Optional
We had such a peaceful stay! When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and lovingly shown around the property. You can tell that there was so much love and positivity in every pocket of air. We stayed at the Eagle’s Nest, which was very private and had a wonderful view. To our delight there were hammocks inside too :). We loved the cows, birds, and frogs as well. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your corner of paradise.

Loved camping at Scott and Kimberly's. They pout great care and consideration into every aspect of your camping experience. The peace and tranquility you will find there is off the charts. It was hard to leave and go back to reality. The sandy ground is like an oasis, the sounds of nature are amazing, both day and night and the hospitality is superb.

I cannot recall a more perfect and serene camping experience. The host’s attentiveness was on point. The location is magical. Stars, fireflies, private - right on Yellow River. We were able to tube for hours right from the location to a drop point 2 miles away with gorgeous scenery every where you looked. Could not recommend more. We will definitely be back.

It was very magical here and we only wish we had a little more time to explore and get to know Bob and Xene more. Very kind and welcoming people who have crafted a wonderfully creative and peaceful oasis in this corner of the world. I was worried that the highway sounds might keep me up but the sounds of the crickets at night lulled me right to sleep. Would recommend!

Wow! I had the best time at Neverland. This was my first hipcamp experience and I am soaring with gratitude for my time spent here. The land and people are a breath of fresh air for any visitor needing a reminder of peace on earth!
I came on a solo birthday trip and was welcomed with exceptional hospitality and warmth from the hosts. I left absolutely touched by the space and am counting the days til I can return to dance with this community again!
My advice it to come with an open heart, explore the property and connect with the folks who steward the land! You might just learn something new! In gratitude alwaYs!

Stopped for a quick overnight on the way down to Texas. Totally enjoyed the shared patio, ate dinner watching horses on the hillside, listened to the chickens and roosters as the sun set, and finally enjoyed an hour in the salt water hot tub. Our hosts were attentive but not overbearing.

This was a great area to camp. The Shade Site was beautiful with great views of the river and sunrise. Tranquil for sure. All campsites are quite far from each other. The only exception is the site nearest to the Shade site. We were the only people there for two of the three nights stayed over July 4th! Suzan was very friendly and swung around to say hi one of the days. Would go back.

I didn’t know what to expect, and at first I didn’t know if I was at the right place. The lots are spread out, unlike a typical campsite. You have your own private area, which is nice. The port-a-potty was ok- it didn’t smell bad, and it was clean. There was a lot of shade trees and a good view. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Would come back and stay again.

The Hobbit House was so cozy and comfortable. We had such a good time wandering around the property, visiting the animals, and finding all the fun, magical places tucked away at Windy Goat Acres. Our dogs loved it too. We definitely look forward to our next stay there.

Northwest Iowa
Northwest Iowa has lots of parks and camping opportunities along the Des Moines River, including the massive Brushy Creek State Recreation Area and Dolliver Memorial State Park. The Lakes Region—home to West and East Okoboji Lakes and Big Spirit Lake—is particularly popular among boaters, anglers, and birders, with a number of state parks and wildlife preserves across the region. Camping is available at Gull Point State Park.
Southwest Iowa
Southwest Iowa is characterized by wide-open farmland and pretty woodlands. Cyclists can take a tour of this region on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, which stretches for 63 miles from the Missouri border up to Council Bluffs near the Nebraska border. The region's Loess Hills State Forest is one of the more popular areas for outdoor recreation, offering a fishing lake and more than 60 miles of trails.
Northeast Iowa
Iowa's Northeast is ideal for getting outside, with miles of recreation opportunities, from trout fishing to canoeing, on the Mississippi River and its Upper Iowa River tributary. Southeast Iowa

This region is home to Lake Red Rock—the largest lake in the state—and the lakefront Elk Rock State Park offers camping, boat ramps, and 13 miles of trails. Other lake areas worth checking out include Geode State Park on the banks of Lake Geode and Lacey-Keosauqua State Park, which has camping, cabin rentals, and easy access to Lake Seguma.
