The Navasota River Ranch

16 sites ¡ RVs, Tents600 acres ¡ Navasota, TX
The Navasota River Ranch is a 600 ac parcel of land bounded by more than a mile of the Navasota River on its west side and two tributary creeks on its north and southeast sides. The river bottom is wild and untamed, while the rest is rolling hills reminiscent of the prairie that once greeted settlers. Nearby is Bryan-College Station home of Texas A&M University To the west on Hwy 105 is Washington on the Brazos State Park. This is the location where delegates gathered to hastily draw up a declaration of independence before joining the Runaway Scrape to avoid capture and execution by the advancing Mexican Army. Farther down the road is the famous Blue Bell creamery in Brenham. The tour and ice cream are well worth the trip. On the property are miles of Jeep trails excellent for off road and 4WD vehicles. Guests might prefer hiking along these trails or strike out on foot trails and game trails. Thanks to the hunters who have come for the deer and feral hogs over the years there are numerous observation structures for viewing wildlife up close, or just enjoying the solitude of the deep woods. Three ponds offer bass and perch fishing from the bank or bring your own boat. And then there is the Navasota River...

Buck Acres near Lake Conroe, TX

20 sites ¡ RVs, Tents6 acres ¡ Montgomery, TX
The previous owner had plans to turn our property into a 42 site row by row RV Park. Once we saw the beauty of the property, we knew we had to keep it as wild and pristine as possible. On 6.5 acres the perfect number of sites was 18 keeping the large house for short-term rental (coming soon.) Sorry, we are still under construction but excited about our progress! See a short video at https://www.buckacresrv.com Buck Acres is technically not even an RV park, we just want to share our property with fellow travelers so we added some gravel roads. The only amenities are a Wi-Fi, 50/30/20A plug-ins, a porta-john and water. We use HipCamp and The Dyrt for bookings or just give us a call or text at (832) 303-9940 "Close to everything, away from it all" We're in the country but close to city amenities and beautiful Lake Conroe. It's only a few minutes from April Sound and the largest marina on Lake Conroe, 8 minutes to Wal-Mart and Kroger, yet it's peaceful and quiet on our forested property. As full-time RV nomads ourselves we know RV park rates are getting crazy, Buck Acres is our attempt to help the community. We've done everything we can to keep rates down. The only amenities we offer are shade, Wi-Fi, electricity, water, and an ADA porta john that is cleaned every week. Affordable RV parks shouldn't be sweltering parking lots where you're packed in like sardines! At Buck Acres we have 100' tall hardwoods and pines that have been trimmed up 60' for the safety of you and your rig! Buck Acres is still under construction and it is a labor of love. All proceeds go immediately back into the park. Bring your family, pets, and friends - tents and RVs welcome! Please Note: Quiet Hours are 10pm - 8am Please keep fires within designated fire rings Keep pets on leash - Clean up any pet waste Do not walk through other people’s campsites. Hidalgo Falls Hideaway

11 sites ¡ Tents13 acres ¡ Navasota, TX
The 13-acre park at Hidalgo Falls is owned by the Texas Rivers Protection Association. It is located on the Brazos River about eight miles from Navasota.TRPA ownership of this property guarantees access to this popular and unique river resource. For whitewater paddlers, it offers a class II rapid with numerous surfing waves, holes, eddy lines and play spots. For flatwater paddlers, it provides a convenient and secure access point for float trips along a very historic stretch of the Brazos as well as a place to learn swiftwater techniques and rescue skills. In the four miles downstream from the rapid archaeologists have unearthed mastodon bones from the riverbank, and the remains of  an early 20th century lock and dam system still loom large in the river. All of this is just upstream from Washington on the Brazos State Park, birthplace of the republic of Texas. Stephen F. Austin is said to have crossed the river often at Hidalgo Falls. It is also said that you could tell if you had a knowledgeable riverboat captain if he could get his boat upstream of the rapid and back down before the river level dropped stranding the boat upriver near Millican or Port Sullivan. The fast moving water and play features of the rapid are rarities in this part of the state. During the year volunteer fire departments in the region use the falls for training firefighters in swiftwater rescue.A 2 mile hike and bike trail are being worked on now and will soon open. Volunteers are always welcome!

Glamm Camping

8 sites ¡ RVs, Tents20 acres ¡ Marquez, TX
We have always enjoyed camping, scuba diving and travel... anything outdoors. We made a promise that If ever given the chance to share that joy with others we would and make it a great experience. We searched and searched  looked at a lot of properties North of the Woodlands,  to build our home. On a Saturday morning, my husband told me about a dream of 3 very tall and Magnificent Trees, soaring way up in the sky.  A few days later we were walking through the forest looking at a 20 acre tract of land for sale with our realtor, I'm thinking, "oh how would we ever get this cleared, this is a lot of work"  Then, up ahead was a clearing and right in the middle were 3 of the tallest, most magnificent Cedar trees. They were perfectly planted standing side by side. We both looked at each other and said," Oh this must be it". The rest is history. We purchased the land in 2015 and sold our home in The Woodlands in 2016... and began to build our dream.Learn more about this land:Perfect for outdoor weddings or reunions. There are rural campsites , Firepits allowed, lots of cedar & oak trees abundant wildlife. creek and walking/biking trails. electric and bathhouse avail.

The Morris Manor and Retreat

7 sites ¡ RVs, Tents25 acres ¡ Madisonville, TX
Our property is meant to be calming, fun and relaxing. Camping with class is what we like to say. We are constantly upgrading our areas and property to be safe and entertaining. Our pond is charming and the focal point of the camping adventure. We have a paddle boat and an electric john boat to toodle around in. Want to go fishing? The pond is stocked with bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and perch. There is also a small island we call “Angel Island” that you can fish from or just sit on the deck with your favorite beverage and enjoy the view. There is a riding/walking trail that is approximately 0.7 miles in distance and basically encompasses the perimeter of the back area. Walking is common, bikes are welcome and small 4 wheelers are also welcome. No side by sides please. You won’t be over crowded here as we currently only have 7 total camping sites. However, we do have enough property to accommodate large parties, reunions or any other type of get-togethers. Come see us and enjoy time away from the fast paced city! You might hear the sounds of the coyotes yipping in the night or perhaps one of the great horned owls calling out from a big oak tree. You may also see some deer, rabbits, squirrels and even armadillos. We are rustic but classy. Time to get away and relax! I can be reached at 850-503-1290 for questions. ** Special note - We have a very nice fireworks show on the property above the pond on the 4th of July weekend that all campers are invited to enjoy.

Camping near College Station guide

Overview

In College Station, rural Texas beauty meshes with college town vibes—no wonder this is the state's pride and joy. Beyond the sprawling Texas A&M University, there are plenty of spots to experience the outdoors.

Cast a line on the Brazos River, cruise across rolling farmsteads, or hike along a sparkling lake. With more than 90 parks, Bryan College Station doesn't lack green space.

Ready to set up camp? State parks, private campgrounds, and RV parks give you plenty of camping options around Aggieland. Imagine pitching your tent on a ranch, farm, or private lakeshore for a taste of Texas' wide open spaces.

Speaking of open spaces, Lake Somerville State Park is a true local treasure. Cruise the 11,000-acre lake, or fish for largemouth bass and crappie. Onshore, you find 40 miles of trails for hiking and biking. You can also paddle Nails Creek or enjoy horseback riding along the Lake Somerville Trailway.

Somerville has both developed and rustic campsites, must of which are on the north shore's Birch Creek unit. Pro Tip: If you need to stay connected, head to the park office for free Wi-Fi.

Lake Bryan is another Brazos Valley oasis. Get stoked about boating, fishing, and paddling the lake (kayak and canoe rentals are a go!) Campsites here come equipped with tent pads, picnic tables, and outdoor grills.

With Texas A&M in its city limits, College Station is a popular destination during the fall football season. The tailgating is a blast, but the crowds can make nabbing a campsite tough. Luckily, this Texas gem boasts mild weather for great camping year round.
