No. All visitors here must be registered guests as the public is not granted access here. 7. How far is the beach? North Ocean City, MD and Fenwick Island DE are both only 5-6 miles away. 8. How secure is the camping area? There is a coded entrance gate at the property entrance along with 6 outdoor security cameras that stay on 24 hours a day for guest and livestock safety. The locations are 2 at the entrance gate, barn house entrance/building overhang, tiny house entrance, horse grooming area, parking area, and inside the stables. These outdoor cameras also record at night and are available for any emergency services to review. 9. Are there animals nearby? Yes! Cowtown is named after our unique Scottish Highland bull with one horn up and one down. The "Old West Bank" is a one-room mini-cabin that will take you back to the time of bank robberies and gold. However, this town bank comes with two twin-size beds in case you have an extra cowboy/ cowgirl with you, along with a smart TV, a mini fridge, a microwave, and heating/ air. This bank themed cabin is light and bright due to the beautiful stained glass, and transom windows that let in the perfect moonlight. You'll enjoy watching Herbie the Scottish Highland peacefully graze from your rear window. Since this bank has a lot of gold, you may want to sit in the front porch rocking chairs and keep an eye out for any bandits! (((((((While our bathhouse is still under construction, there is access to a FLUSHABLE portable potty, an outdoor sink, and an outdoor hot/cold shower. See pictures. How secure is the camping area? There is a coded entrance gate at the property entrance along with 6 outdoor security cameras that stay on 24 hours a day for guest and livestock safety. 9. Are there animals nearby? Yes! Cowtown is named after our unique Scottish Highland bull with one horn up and one down. You'll see “Herbie” peacefully grazing in a nearby pasture along with horses, goats, an alpaca, a sheep, a rare curly-haired pig, a peacock, and fancy top-hat chickens that all call the ranch home. 10. Participating in a guest activity is mandatory here. We have FREE indoor scavenger hunts and the FREE Name Challenge memory game. Our most popular experience is "Chores N' Tour” where you meet up with Shelley to feed and get up close and personal while feeding 20+ animals. Go ahead! take selfies with Fonzie the kissing alpaca, play the rollover challenge with Charlotte the pig, and hay the jumping goats. As a bonus, Shelley will also let you check out the inside of any unoccupied rentals on the property to plan your next trip! Chores N' tour is $10/ person. 1 hr. long. Also on-site, are Brush N' Bond horse grooming sessions, horse whispering lessons, and farm animal paint sessions. Once you book, send Shelley a message with your chosen ranch activity! 11. Do guests have access to the entire ranch? No, guests have access to the glampground, cornhole, and parking area here at the ranch. The rest of the property is reserved for our animal rescue (habitats) and fenced off for safety. Animals are easily viewed from all locations while the goats can be pet and fed anytime if you bring some baby carrots or string beans. 12. What sounds can I expect to hear? Expect to hear typical sounds of nature such as crickets, owls, and the crackling of a fire. In the morning, you'll hear our sweet goat trio, Charlotte the pig, and her excited "oinks" along with the occasional "moooo" and possibly a crow from the rooster and a "honk" from Petey our peacock who is ready for breakfast! 13. What are the check-out procedures? We ask that guests leave the space the way they found it (neat and tidy.) We also love to brag about any super clean guests!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! Andrea's instructions were perfect. The bathhouse was the nicest I have experienced. Andrea and Michael were very friendly, authentic, down-to-earth people who welcomed me like I was an old friend. I was able to purchase farm fresh eggs, which were amazing! Interacting with the animals was both enjoyable and educational. Michael shared his animal knowledge and answered all of my questions. I felt renewed and experienced peace during my stay here. I would definitely return!

Oh my gosh....What an absolutely fabulous little gem this tiny house is! Lovely and clean, with a microwave , fridge, heat and AC, and coffee maker. A cozy fire pit is nearby as is a hot tub surrounded by twinkling lights. Andrea was such a super helpful hostess and genuinely nice getting me set up. And of course , it was fun to go visit the goats and farm animals. It was just the getaway I needed and I will definitely be back! 😃🐐🐖🐎🐈🐕🐄🔥❤️

Weekend Trip to Adventures Await Retreat & Meadery

This camp is a very quiet rural location (45 minutes to Lewes and Cape May Ferry) and has a great list of amenities. The camp hosts are welcoming and very helpful. Shout-out to Dave for assisting us on arrival. The animals are cool and mostly friendly. The pool looked nice as did the meadery- didn't have time to try these. The nature walk was really nice and easy to follow. Now to the sites themselves - if you're looking at a full hook-up site, you will need to bring plenty of waste line and water line as the utility layout is challenging. Our recommendation is to call ahead and ask about site layout. Upon departure we ended up dumping our full grey and black tanks at Killen Pond State Park about 9 miles away. For those with 30-Amp rigs, do have a 50-amp converter in your electric box for flexibility in site selection. Overall, a nice long weekend stay with friendly hosts.

We loved the island and La Mar was an amazing host. 5 of us spent a weekend on the island. If you have no experience canoeing, be prepared. Being from NYC, we are inexperienced and it took us an hour to row the mile to the island against the tide. if you can get your own power boat to take you there, it will make life a whole lot easier. definitely a challenge, but it was amazing once we made it. The island is relaxing for a weekend. You also get to do some fishing, though we didn't have much luck in October. also - low tide is really low tide. don't plan on going out until the tide comes in a bit. I would recommend taking lots of firewood and a portable toilet. I can't say enough about how communicative and accommodating La Mar is. We're already talking about our next trip.

We absolutely love camping here. We just stayed for our third time. What a lovely horse farm and it's so nice to be able to walk our dog off leash. The farm dogs are very friendly and love to come over and be petted and hang out for a spell. Best part of this site for us is the fact that it's less than 8 mi from our house so it's a convenient getaway.

Carol and Dan were amazing hosts. I was lucky to be able to move to Willow Oak 3, which was absolutely awesome. Quiet, remote, and utterly perfect. The site was clean with a nice tent pad for comfortable set up. It’s a simple but perfect plot of land to spend a few days. My dog was also super comfortable and able to be off leash throughout most of the stay.

As a quick getaway we booked La Mar’s island. It’s pretty well kept and has a large campfire area overlooking the water. Easy fishing from the island as long as it’s not low tide. Lots of space to camp with multiple tents if desired. You’re able to watch bald eagles and other wildlife, we even saw an otter. The only downfall is you can hear the highway all night long. I would definitely book again for a quick getaway!
