It's spring and that means tulips! We are located about 30 minutes south of the tulip fields in Mount Vernon, WA. Finish your tour of the tulips fields with a restful evening at our farm and a good night's sleep in the trees. We are a working hobby farm with horses, alpacas, chickens, bunnies, dogs, and cats. There heritage apple trees which means they are over 100 years old and unusual varieties such as Blenheim Orange and Benoni. We also have pear trees, a cherry tree, and a kiwi vine. Activities on the farm depend on day, month, season, & weather. You may be woken by the snuffling sounds of a horse grazing nearby. The camp greeter/hostess, Lily the collie will come to visit, maybe even take a nap. We also offer horse boarding which includes a pasture that is next to the campsite. We are minutes away from Warm Beach Conference Center, Kayak Point Park, and the 7 lakes area. People who visit marvel at the peacefulness. Come, relax, listen to the birds, enjoy.

Over 100 years ago, this property was logged of all of it's old growth conifers. Well, things have been growing here ever since. There are many old growth stumps dotted around the property; many acting as "nurse or Mother logs" to new growth. We have been here for 30 years & have select logged keeping the integrity of the property in tact. These trees know they are loved and honored. They are happy & it shows. You feel the vibe a soon as you drive up. Since then we have blazed trails & carved out campsites & campgrounds throughout. All of them resembling nature's little carved out "rooms." We have enjoyed this property for these past 33 years. We have shared it with family & friends time & time again. There is so much love & positive energy breathing within these boundaries. I have been very fortunate to have been able to share this place. Now, thanks to Hipcamp, I can share it with you & your family & friends. Let Mother Earth's Pocket host your next family camping trip. Looking forward to it. We'll leave the light on for y'all!!

The Purple Cottage

The *Purple Cottage* -- was found & salvaged (recycled!)-- moved onto the back of my property in 2012. This 16 X 12' place has been my studio in the past, but has offered overflow for friends & ; family. Nestled in the woods and ever-so-private, the cottage has a pull-out double futon, plus a small sleeping loft and can accommodate 1 -2 nicely (we will consider 3 if you have a small child, but it would be a tight fit!... There is a very small sleeping loft in the cottage.). There is a “en suite kitchen in the cottage that has a small fridge, microwave, and two burner stovetop cooking unit. The cottage offers privacy in a wooded garden setting. The bathhouse, with hot shower, vanity and; toilet --are all steps away (and covered) from the main cabin. The Purple Cottage sits on a shy wooded acre, with greenbelt buffers all around, maximizing the sense of privacy. our vintage Shasta Trailer across the driveway of the Purple Cottage is currently used as a music studio (and rarely as family/guest overflow), and I have my own small Artist Studio located also on the back of the property. Even with all the little enclave of buildings, The Purple Cottage retains a private feel all to itself, with reliable Wi-Fi available at the cottage. . It is located in a quiet little neighborhood, about 6 miles from Langley & 6 miles from Freeland.. Private beach access is across the road and a 15 minute walk up the street, where you can beach comb & explore the shoreline out at our little point. The private deck off the side of the Purple Cottage offers views of the gardens & flora, and has a little gas barbecue. There is also a delightful hot tub on the deck, which is a wonderful feature. An outdoor kitchen on the edge of the woods allows a roomier “camp cooking” experience with Colman stove & cold running water (season permitting). We are located 6 miles from the picturesque town of Langley and equal distance from Freeland, on the south end of Whidbey. Our area is very *bike-able* and either direction will get you to town! The Purple Cottage offers a rustic retreat in a place that feels far away, but is an hour & a half from the bustling city of Seattle!

Fern Gully Camp

96%
(740)
10mi from Kayak Point Regional County Park · 13 sites · Tents, RVs · Greenbank, WA
Nestled in Greenbank, Washington, Fern Gully, is an old horse farm that has been transformed into a Hip Camp. We’re delighted to welcome you back to our farm in 2025! We have installed new signage to facilitate site identification. Many of you were familiar with my sister, Morgan. She has recently relocated to Texas. My name is Erin. My boyfriend, Dave, and I reside in the farmhouse. My mother, Lauren, also makes her home here. We have discovered several exceptional camping spots on our 15-acre property. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the forest or lounge in our stargazing hammock circle. During the summer months, from July to September, our farm will be ablaze with seasonal fruit, including blackberries, cherries, apples, and salmonberries. Our expansive fields and wooded surroundings are also home to a diverse array of wildlife, such as bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, barn swallows, quail, and their offspring. Deer and occasional coyotes roam the property, but rest assured, they are apprehensive of us and pose no threat. We derive great pleasure from spending time outdoors, so you may frequently observe us engaged in fieldwork, construction, or simply relaxing in our stargazing hammock circle. We are always available to provide you with space or invite you to join us. We derive immense satisfaction from meeting new individuals and have numerous recommendations for Whidbey Island, including the delectable blueberry stand in Freeland and the Mutiny Bay Blues, a venue that we can either recommend or provide directions to. We eagerly anticipate your visit. Fern Gully is conveniently located just a two-minute drive from the charming Greenbank Pantry. Where you can indulge in delectable sandwiches and quench your thirst with refreshing Topo Chico or a bottle of wine. For a scenic excursion, venture to South Whidbey State Park, a six-minute drive away. Where you can embark on exhilarating hiking trails along the breathtaking coastline. Lagoon Point County Park, a mere five-minute drive from Fern Gully, presents an ideal destination for fishing and whale watching. Greenbank Farm, a consistently exceptional destination, is conveniently accessible via a four-minute drive along Washington State Highway 525.

11mi from Kayak Point Regional County Park · 1 site · Tent, RV · Coupeville, WA
Toilet with nonpotable water/sink available from April through October. *only 1 campsite-complete privacy and quiet. The Navy OLF is nearby. It is recommended you check the flight schedule for dates and times the jets will be flying. Depending on the direction they happen to be flying that night, it can get quite loud. In those instances, ear protection is recommended. About a third of summer weekdays the OLF is used. The jets do not fly on weekends and holidays. Having said all of this, most campers enjoy the airshow, as it is a unique opportunity. The camp site is approximately 6 acres located in a quiet secluded forest area near highway 525. A fire pit is provided on non-burn ban days. A flat grassy area is big enough to enjoy your recreation activity of choice. Bring your binoculars and check out all the different kinds of birds. Nearby wetlands provide lots of food for birds, bats, and dragonflies. Other wildlife you may see are deer, bunnies, owls, quail, butterflies, garter snakes, and raccoons. Lots of native flora can be identified with your plant identification app or book. The beach is about a mile away where you can hunt for sea glass and enjoy the waves or build yourself a shelter out of driftwood. The mostly flat gravel road can accommodate any size RV. 10 minutes to Coupeville, Greenbank Farm, Ebey's Landing, Port Townsend Ferry, and Patmore Pit Dog Park. 20 minutes to Freeland 25 minutes to Oak Harbor 30 minutes to the Clinton-Mukilteo Ferry 35 minutes to Deception Pass What you will need to bring: - firewood; apologies but I am unable to continue providing firewood. - self-contained RV, camper van, motorhome, or camping gear - water - grill or rack for fire pit - camp chairs/table - mosquito repellent - flashlights - recreation equipment Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash and in the presence of the owner at all times. The best camping in Kayak Point Regional County Park, WA guide

Overview

About

It’s easy to see why Kayak Point is Snohomish County’s most popular park. The saltwater beach park offers 3,300 feet of picturesque shoreline with sandy beaches, beachside picnic shelters, a fishing pier and boat launch, and lush evergreen forests. Fish or crab off the 300-foot pier, or look for seals, sea lions, and gray whales in the waters and bald eagles and other birds in the air. More active visitors can go windsurfing, kayaking, or scuba diving. Plan ahead if you want to spend the night though, as there are only 30 RV and tent sites, four water trail sites, 10 yurts, and one cottage.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for water views: Sites 7, 9, 11, 13, and 13A at the Kayak Point Campground offer the best views of the bay.
  • Best for comfort: Ten yurts each sleep five in a cozy space with heat, electricity, and picnic tables and fire pits outside.
  • Best for paddlers: Several beach campsites offer water trail camping for visitors arriving and departing on human- or wind-powered beachable watercrafts.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Plan well in advance if you want to camp in mid to late summer. Campsites can be reserved up to 270 days in advance, and may require a two-night stay over weekends.
  2. Try to visit during the week, during a non-holiday period, or in winter for the best chance at a campsite.
  3. If you don’t have a reservation, show up first thing in the morning to grab any unreserved sites. Walk-ups for campsites not accepted after sunset.

When to go

Summers are the busiest times at the park, when you should plan to arrive by noon before the parking lots fill up. Whale watching season is from April to June, while sea lions can be spotted in winter and early spring. The best time to spot waterfowl and marine birds is in fall, winter, and spring. Crabbing season is from July to early September, from Thursdays to Mondays only. From November to February, the south shelter and some day-use area restrooms are closed.

Know before you go

  • The Washington Discovery Pass is not valid at this park.
  • The park has two ADA-accessible campsites.
  • Fishing and crabbing licenses are required for anyone 15 and older. Crabbing is only permitted in season during daylight hours.
  • Firewood sales are available during daylight hours. Do not collect or burn driftwood. Fires are only permitted in designated fire rings.
  • Pets are not allowed on the beach, pier, yurts, or cottage.
