Here’s one for the bucket list: go back in time to America’s native roots and stay the night in a tipi at Upper Sioux Agency State Park. It's rich in Native America history, so be sure to check out the history trail and educational exhibits to learn about the land on which you stand. Take to the 18 miles of trails by day to explore the river valley and transverse prairie knolls. You’ll be exhausted from all the photo ops along the way, but that's a good thing. Words can’t do the sunsets here justice; you’ll just have to come see one for yourself. So, take a load off your legs by posting up on the banks of the Yellow Medicine River and throwing a line in as early dusk arrives.
