What a wonderful 3 daysā£ļø

I couldnāt have picked a better place to relax and rejuvenateā£ļø Darci and Amanda have created a great atmosphere on their Summer Smiles Honey Farm for folks to take a timeout from the demands of everyday life. The Farm is peaceful, the animals engaging, and the paths cleared for exploring.
I stayed in the glamping studio loft house... comfy, cozy, and cute. The upstairs loft bed was excellent. The downstairs room had plenty of space for eating and sitting without feeling cramped. Oh, the outside shower... awesome! And the Scotty Potty was the cleanest Iāve ever seen in my life!
I had the welcome platter on day 1, which sustained me for my 3 day visit because of all of the delightful treats. But I also had the yummy lasagna and a super fresh salad day 2... enough for 2 days. I enjoyed crusty, warm homemade bread and herb butter that came with both meals.
The Farm provides opportunities to sit quietly and reflect, to romp around with sweet Sis, Big Fluff, and the hilarious chickens, to hike several trails, to observe the bee yard, and even take classes if available. Several covered bridges, the Flight 93 Memorial, and other sightseeing possibilities are within easy driving distance.
Great hosts, a great setting, great beasts, great food, great bed, great outdoor shower... all add up to a wonderful, unique, ācanāt wait to go backā experienceā£ļø
Thank you, Darci and Amandaā¤ļø

Past trips
Maple Knoll
in Savage Acres on Craig Creek, VirginiaA mountain, a creek, and peace
My friend and I camped 5 nights at Maple Knoll. With a mountain watching over the land, Maple Knoll is a lovely site! Itās huge, with a picnic table and large fire ring. Maple Knoll is not the only site on Nedās property, but there is enough distance between each that privacy is maintained. We felt safe and Ned and Alexis were close by if help was needed. My favorite parts of Maple Knoll were the close proximity to great hiking, and the wonderful creek that runs through Nedās land (a very fun place to play). Maple Knoll was a perfect place for my friend and me to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the peace and quiet of a beautiful spot. Thank you, Ned!
Campsite 1
in Chappel Hill Tree Farm, PennsylvaniaSafe & serene sanctuary
Dave and Rhonda have created a safe, peaceful sanctuary for those who want to get away from the hubbub of humanity. I tented 6 glorious nights at site 1. The only human sounds, besides me, were 3 planes and Dave when he stopped by.
The happy camper sign welcomes guests to Site 1, but it is the meticulous care that truly shows the attention to visitor comfort and enjoyment. There is ample room for setting up tents, including a huge grassy area for stargazers along with more secluded treed areas. The RV pad is well constructed, with good turnaround space. There is a large painted picnic table, a fire ring with a grate, and a truly amazing outhouse that is spotless.
Adding to all this, Dave is a gracious, friendly host. He knows a lot about the area and willingly shares that information. He is also a very experienced ātree manā. Plan your stay with time to ask Dave for a guided tour of his trails. The trails are amazing, as is Daveās knowledge of his land.
Thank you, Dave and Rhonda, for sharing your lovely place. I loved every second and canāt wait to come back!
Cut off camp
in Hidden valley camp, PennsylvaniaVery large, clean, safe!
Iām a solo camper and felt very safe at Cut Off Camp! It is a large, very clean site with many flat places to pitch a tent and set up tarps. The camp area is surrounded by tall mature trees and is secluded except for a hunting trailer above the campsite. The fire ring is huge; I was able to use half for a fire and the other half for a grill space. Devin provided lots of good, dry wood for my visit. Being able to have my car at the campsite was a bonus, as was having a picnic table and porta-a-john there, too. Devin was a responsive, friendly host; I enjoyed meeting him and knew that I could call on him if necessary. Make sure you understand that youāll be driving up a hill on a dirt road to reach Cut Off Camp. My Mazda 3 and I had no problems, though. I look forward to getting back to Cut Off Camp! Thanks, Devin, for sharing your space!
Sunset Spot
in Purple Pines, PennsylvaniaSerene and safe
This was my second visit to Purple Pines, and I loved it just as much, if not more! The site is so secluded and peaceful. There are lots of places to pitch your tent and being able to have your car at the site is such a bonus. A short walk takes you to a little very, very clean A-frame outhouse with a composting toilet. Anne and Dustin are lovely, welcoming hosts. Iāve already picked out the next place to pitch my tent when I return! Thank you Anne and Dustin for creating this haven for unplugging and rejuvenating!!
Sunset Spot
in Purple Pines, PennsylvaniaSafe, secluded, serene!
Purple Pines. What a wonderful spot! Safe. Secluded. Serene. This is a large site and itās the only site which makes it very peaceful. There are lots of sturdy pines for hammocks and plenty of kindling type wood surrounding the site. The a-frame outhouse is very clean and merely a short walk away. Anne is an awesome host, very communicative and welcoming from our first contact. I arrived way early, but Anne graciously said to come on to the site. She greeted me and gave me the ālay of the land.ā Anne even offered me blankets when the weather turned a little brisk. My four nights at Purple Pines were restful, rejuvenating, and fun!
Thank you, Anne!! Iām looking at my calendar for when to return!
Stream Side Peninsula Tent Site
in Burnhead Grazings, PennsylvaniaRelaxing and safe!
What a marvelous 3 nights I enjoyed at Burnhead Grazing! Moire greeted me warmly and showed me the Stream Side Peninsula campsite. Tall old trees lined the stream and there was a large fire ring, complete with a grill and flat tops that could swing over the fire. Moire also showed me the lovely guest bathroom; what a luxury when tent camping! I loved the barn and animal tour, especially the goats. I felt so safe and secure in this kind, peaceful place, created by kind, caring people. Burnhead Grazing Farm allowed me to decompress and rest. Just what I needed. Thank you, Burnhead Grazing. Canāt wait to come back!
Cozy Cabin @ Nature Works Farm
in Nature Works Farm, PennsylvaniaThe retreat i needed
I needed a place close to home to get off the merry go round and sit still. I also wanted to cook over an open fire but crawl into a comfy bed after the eveningās flames burned out. The Cozy Cabin @ Nature Works Farm fit the bill perfectly.
The Cabin, more spacious than I anticipated, was simple, clean and decorated with homey touches, including pictures of Cassandra and Bobās animals and produce. A cast iron skillet was ready to cook my meals. The little sink and hose around back cleaned dishes and human hands without problems. And the composting toilet area was tidy, odorless, and served its purpose just fine.
Yes, you can see the farm house, sort of, if you try. I spent much of my 3 1/2 days on the lovely little porch looking at the stream and the fields beyond the trees. What house? Yes, you can hear traffic, but I encourage you to listen more intently to the birds and frogs. What vigorous performances they provided each day!
Donāt come expecting luxury because you wonāt find it. What you will find is a safe, sweet little cabin tucked next to a peaceful stream, a retreat for unplugging and/or for using as a home base for all the activities found in this area, and best of all, super friendly and gracious hosts!
Thank you, Cassandra and Bob! I loved every second. I left feeling rejuvenated and will be back as soon as possible!
