We camped near the stream and enjoyed evening fires, walks on the property and a little fly fishing in the pond.

Moire was my favorite host ever! She was so welcoming and she let us tag along during her evening chores. Her stories and history of the farm were compelling and her border collie was so sweet and friendly, even Stan the greyhound was charmed. He got to encounter his first sheep, chickens and miniature donkeys.

In addition to the campsite, there was also a separate guest house and a BnB in her home with a farm to table home cooked breakfast. When the weather forecast turned ugly, she offered shelter in her home. Little did she know that driving rain and sleet delivered via gale force winds is one of my favorite camping conditions.

Our campsite was on the banks of a picturesque stream tucked next to acres of forest. If it had been warmer we would have waded and splashed to our hearts’ content. The pond looked postcard perfect and inviting as well. The road ran nearby, but the traffic was light and the wind was the loudest sound we heard.

It was too windy for a safe campfire, but there was plenty of firewood supplied and the fire ring was encircled by a rustic stacked stone border. The half bath was in Moire’s home and close by the campsite. It was a rare luxury next to a beautiful campsite and I can’t wait to return in January for our box of farm raised lamb chops.

Moire and her husband were gracious and lovely hosts. They went above and beyond in every way possible. We had no idea what we were in store for - this was our first time trying hipcamp. We were first so pleasantly surprised when Moire gave us awesome directions from Pittsburgh on a more scenic route than what we were used to taking out towards her farm. That started our trip off on the right foot. Then, we were greeted at the most lovely and beautifully serene farm ever! This was certainly a treat. It is picturesque, to say the least. They helped us to get settled comfortably and were always accessible if we needed them yet also gave us privacy and space. We enjoyed the warmth and peacefulness of the farm and of our hosts. Our children LOVED the experience on the farm - Moire took them to meet the animals and even feed them. They are begging to return! And so are we!

Our stay at Burnhead Grazings was wonderful and we felt welcomed as soon as we pulled in. Moire was there to greet us and show us around the property. We enjoyed being able to take a stroll and see the family farm once we got the tent set up. A big plus was the bathroom connected to the house that we were allowed to use during our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when we need to get away for a night or 2.

THis was the absolute best camp site. The host was so graciously welcoming. She showed us around the property, we got to meet all of the animals. Which was so much fun! The site itself down by the stream was gorgeous. It was flat and there was so much room. Best sleep in a long time listening to the sound of the stream all night long. We are refreshed and rejuvenated for the week ahead!

Moire is an exceptional host and the property is beautiful. We felt like we had our own private little creek. It was wonderful. We enjoyed walks to the sheep barn and swinging near the pond in the evenings. We also got to pet the donkeys and their horse which was a special treat! The portion of the house you do have access to is so cozy and private. I was able to use their stationary sink to wash our dishes which was a nice feature. The only thing I would recommend to others is that you bring enough drinking water because the well water wasn’t great tasting. There is a Walmart and Aldi less than 10 minutes away though if you would need that. Overall, we absolutely loved our experience and will definitely be back!

Moire was a generous and kind host. The campground was idyllic - sheep at pasture, a babbling brook, a small pond with seats. The site itself was under a vast starry sky and had ample firewood for use.

The farm is a gem, as is Moire as a host. Glad to have passed the night and, should I be in the area again, would like to visit again.

This was such a great place! The host was amazing! We stayed Friday and Saturday night, with 2 kids (4 and 6). She took us around to help with chores in the morning and meet the animals, we had enough firewood for 2 nights, the bathroom was clean, we fished in the pond, and caught salamanders in the creek. The kids wanted to stay another night and never once asked for a tablet!! We will for sure be back!!
