Past trips
Between the Ponds
in The Draper Property, DelawareAnother great stay at Between the Ponds. It was pouring rain the whole time but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves and having a relaxing time. A day in the woods is better than a day in the office any time. Even if it rains.
Island Getaway
in Island Getaway, DelawareWe had an amazing time camping on La Mar's island. The island offers privacy and serenity while being just a short paddle or boat ride away from land. As soon as you arrive on the island you can see so many wonderful touches La Mar did to make the stay amazing. There is a shower, tiki torches along with fluid for them, hand saw to trim branches off fallen tree limbs, hammock, string lights and generator, and picnic table just to mention a few of the thoughtful amenities. I enjoyed some fishing the river while watching a bald eagle fly overhead. Lar Mar was always just a text or call away if we needed anything and he even reached out to me to ensure we were ok when a pretty wicket rain storm dumped on us. We had an amazing time and we can't wait to come back in the Spring.
Between the Ponds
in The Draper Property, DelawareThis is the third time we have camped at Between the Ponds. We absolutely love it! We spent our time fishing the ponds, paddling around in our kayaks, or relaxing around the campfire listening to nature. Also, we enjoyed exploring the 130 acres and wander through the woods. It is always such a fun and wonderful time. The host, Michele, is the kindest person you will meet and responds quickly to any questions we had. We will definitely be back again this summer
Top of The Pond
in The Draper Property, DelawareCharming Camping
in Whitetail Ridge Farm, New YorkBetween the Ponds
in The Draper Property, DelawareWhat an amazing place! It feels like you are so far away from everything yet everything is just a short drive away. Michele is so kind and welcoming. When I wasn't lounging in a hammock or sipping on a cold beverage by the campfire I was walking all around the huge property as well as did some fishing in the wonderful clear ponds. This place is fantastic! I am already booking my next trip.
1 Campsite - 15 Waterfront Acres
in HIDDEN RIVER CAMPING, VirginiaThis was the best camping site I've ever stayed at and I'm not talking just what I've booked through Hipcamp. Steven and Tracey are some of the nicest people I've met. They gave us a tour of the property then we never saw them again but they were always available just up the hill, if needed. The care and detail they put into each site is amazing. Tons of space and privacy. It had rained the night before we arrived so the river was flowing good and brown but we dropped in our kayaks anyway and paddled around and did some fishing. I caught a bass and a pike. Tons of fun! This hidden gem is great and were already talking about booking my next trip during the drive home.
Rockfish River Landing
in Rockfish River Landing, VirginiaWe had a great time camping a Rockfish River Landing. There was plenty of space to setup our tents along the river. I didn't realize how close we were to the road which stays pretty busy with cars and trucks so it was little noisy at times, but we were able to setup in a semi secluded area which at least kept visibility to a minimal. Kayaking the river was tons of fun and we caught a few Bass and Sunnies. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, surprisingly there were very few mosquitos. There is plenty of wood to collect for fires so no need to bring any. I would definitely stay here again.
Fishermen's Paradise Campground
in Ruby's Rocks, PennsylvaniaThe campsite was great as was Sue and her husband. It truly is a fisherman's paradise. So many great places to fish or just relax at the site listening to the birds and frogs. I caught trout from the river that runs just next to the site and cooked it over a campfire that night. Plenty of privacy but Sue is just up the street, if needed. I will definitely be coming back.
