The site itself was lovely, mostly because of the river access and how semi-secluded it was; the grass was a little high when I first got there but it was taken care of the following day. The directions brought me to the RV park less than away and when I got there, after 5 pm, like I said I would be, there was no one there to at least point me in the direction of the site and zero response from the host. Another camper showed up, just as confused as I was, who realized I was looking for the same site. We had to circle the park a few times to get some help, then finally a person staying at the park told us it was just behind the arena further down. There was still no response to my messages and calls during my stay.
There is a quaint little town close by to explore too.

My visit at Amongst the Tress was the last minute stopover on my way to Georgia. Kelly responded quickly to my request made a few hours before my late arrival. He was gracious enough to stay until I got there and directed me to the campsite. The site is quiet and secluded, with a firepit and wood and bathroom with a view. I did not get the chance to take part in the feeding time but the farm and animals are close enough to the site for me to pay a visit. Though I only camped out a few hours it felt very safe and comfortable. I most definitely hope to be back!

Past trip
in Tiny Cabin Glamping & Hot Tub, VermontTanglebloom Cabin was truly magically relaxing! It is nestled just far enough in the woods to feel completely off the grid but still close the main house. The cabin is furnished with a futon from heaven, a chair and side table that is stacked with books on travel. The "kitchen" area is fully equipped with utensils and food storage, and a camping stove. There was very little packing needed for the stay because they had almost everything available, which makes it a perfect spot for an impromptu getaway for a few days to unplug.
I did have some trouble getting there due to the lack of cell coverage in that area (t-mobile) and the roads were sketchy.
Melissa and Mike were so very welcoming and kind too. I already plan on returning!

in Hueco Tanks Mountain Hut, TexasI was here during the climbing off-season so the site and town a ghost town for the most part. Within 2 minutes of me showing up and texting the host, he came to give me a little tour, some water and everything else I needed. He was a super warm and welcoming person and the place was very clean.
I had some visitors in the van during the night who ate my snacks and left some droppings, but at least it wasn't a snake or mountain lion which I was forewarned about.
Overall, I had a very comfortable and safe experience and would highly recommend staying here if you do go climbing in Hueco Tanks!

in Kingsley Orchards, LLC, DelawareLet's just start by saying how awesome Meghan is! I was welcomed with a slice of chocolate cake and beer; she hung out, past her bedtime, to chat with me and make sure I was settled in comfortably. My initial plan was to stay one day but I ended up booking another night to hang out on the farm to help out and learn about pruning. I can now add Tractor Driver on my resume thanks to Mehgan. It was great getting to know more about her upcoming projects and all she wants to do to make future campers even more comfortable. I am super excited to see it all come together and I would love to revisit!
Kitts Marsh on Patuxent River
in Scenic Patuxent River Shanty, MarylandFirst off, Marilyn was the sweetest person! She stayed up and checked on us periodically during our drive down from NY, in the dreaded, unanticipated holiday traffic. After getting there just around 11pm she greeted us the kindest smile and drove with us down to the house.
The house itself is very much secluded and cozy. The night sky was the most breath taking for us city girls, its like being hugged by a starry night blanket. It was loverly! It is a great place to unwind and unplug with my 2 girlfriends....and have a pajama karaoke birthday dance party, singing at the top of our lungs without the worry of disturbing the neigbors.
A few things, though, BYOH (bring your own heater), BYOCW(bring your own cookwear) and a some form of air freshener, the compost scent gets intense sometimes.
It was the best way to spend a birthday weekend. Thanks Marilyn!
