Jason C.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
Nice spot. It's a little thick on the edges which is tough because i hammock camp. If the owner prunes a little around the big trees for hammocks this spot would be awesome. Other than that it just needs a couple of log stools to sit on. I would camp here again, but as it sits i would bring a tent. Also lots of wood to gather and owner had very nice logs for burning which have me a nice long fire with little to no maintenence.
Owls hooted all night. It was awesome.
Past trip
in Starry Night Meadow-campsite, North CarolinaThis is the best setup i have seen at a hipcamp, and I have camped at a bunch of these all across the country. It's amazing how much thought and time they put into this. Everything you need is here. I overslept in the camper, extremely comfortable. They even have a dart board and food prep area. If I am ever in this area again this is the camp I will use.
Past trip
Group Site 105

in Ruby's Rocks, PennsylvaniaNice place to make a camp to explore the area. Kids had fun catching frogs at the pond.
Past trip
in Nature's Hideout, New YorkSo I am a hammock camper who travels on a Harley Davidson Road King. I contact camps regularly before booking to ask if there are trees where i can hang my hammock. When I contacted this place it sounded like Tommy Chong was calling me back, and the dude was super . Told me there is all this wood and a treeline on the edge of the field where I can hang a hammock and have a fire. Well, I am hanging above weeds, next to a road, with an 18 wheeler idling next to me. All the "trees" are saplings and random seeds that took root, except for next to the road. I can't go out and do anything. I have toms bug repellant wipes, and this place is just horrible. In 100+ nights out, I have pulled out this hammock bug net 2 other times. I am covered in welts after taking 30-45 minutes to setup camp. The wood he told me would be waiting was all green, along with a pile of cardboard. My motorcycle got stuck because it is not a field, it is a lot in Oneonta next to a loud factory with those big mounds of grass all over the place that are so tall they make the bike get stuck on them. This place hasn't been cut in about a year. There is plywood crossing going across a mosquito breeding ground. As I type this I make sure to keep my skin away from the net around my hammock so I don't get bit through the net like they were getting me through my shirt.
