Past trip
in Phantom Hill Forest Retreats, VirginiaDefinitely group friendly. Site had everything you needed but your shelter and food. Great location away from other campers. Lots to do while staying on the farm. I love the map, very accurate. Will recommend many times over.
Past trip
in Warren Ferry Landing, VirginiaRustic, Off Grid. Our style of camping. Just enough amenities. Would recommend for group or even small enough family. Loved this place. Lots to do on the property itself.
Past trip
in On Onancock Creek, VirginiaIt was colder in the evenings but the wood burning stove made a huge difference.
This was a well equipped peace of paradise off grid.
Past trip
in Solitude at Thornton Farm, VirginiaThe Tiny Red House was perfect. We had shelter from the rain. Marvin has added some great touches. There are a couple more cooking items, like an air fryer and electric skillet. There is no running water in Tiny House but there is access to it close by. Marvin is always an attentive host. He treats us like family.
Cindy hasn't gone on any trips yet.

Site 3 - Private Paradise on Rivers Bend
in Private Paradise on Rivers Bend, VirginiaSite 2 not our original site 3
We had a large group going and reserved all the sites. We did not stay at Site 3. We ended up taking site 2. We went during the Tropical Storm. Site 3 has a slight incline where we could put our tent or canopy so we felt we would be in puddles or pools of water and mud. Site 2 had the most grass and was more leveled for the 2 to 3 days of rain expected. Site 2 was spacious. Not as much mud as the other sites. If there are winds, which we did have, there was no coverage like the other sites. But we forgot a bag of stakes so we lost a canopy in the storm. The river was low before the storm. Perfect level for our littles. Even after the storm, the water level was enough for the littles to swim. Fishing was great.

Peace & Solitude at Thornton Farm
in Solitude at Thornton Farm, VirginiaMalvern Hill
in Outdoor Access Camping, VirginiaSolitude
in Solitude at Thornton Farm, VirginiaVery secluded and personal! Marvin was a great host. He let us use his 100+ acre land as if it was our own. Even though he has about 5 other camping spots, we were the only ones there. The tiny house was done well. The drawings on the wall gave it a more personal touch. The property was well kept and there are a couple of paths to take a walk. The sounds of the owls at night were very soothing with the fire going strong.
